I know about the training cap and that's not the problem. I think I may have a bogus list.
The way master trainers work in Oblivion is you have to have your skill up to 70 and do a fetch quest for the trainer.
I found a list of trainers on some forum and It claimed Alonyra (sp) in the divine elegance is the mercantile master trainer. The list I heve indicates that you need 10k septims to get training from Alonyra.
But she won't offer me training even tough i have 130k. I tried buying 10k worth of stuff from her and it didn't work. There's no dialog option either.
Perhaps I need a certain fame level or soething or perhaps my list is crap.
I'll test the latter tonight by visiting some other master trainers. The list was accurate about the light armor trainer but that's the only one I've tested other than mercantile.
Is there a good way to increase mercentile after is is above 70?
The only way that I learned about master trainers is through trainers that weren't as good at the skill (once I had reached a certain level they wouldn't train me anymore because I was to advanced for them) so they reccomended me to the master trainer of that skill. I suggest talking to the Argonian lady who runs a store in Chorrol (she's the only NPC that I know of who trains Mercantile) she may reccomend you to the master trainer of mercantile and the next time that you visis
t the master of mercantile, I suspect that there will be a topic called "training" in the dialogue screen.
hope this helps
