I was just there to see how things are going over there, and it's just crazy!

People flaming each other and behaving childishly. I feel sorry for the moderators there.

Anyone else noticed this?

It's always been crazy since the Oblivion forum came. I was mostly active on Community Discussion there but as the TES noobs we could call them started going beyond the Oblivion forums they just ruined everything. Been a long time since I've set foot in TES Forums, went over here insted - Much better forum with less people which makes it easier to know everyone else better...

So to you're question, yes I've noticed that the quality if we could call it that on the TES Forums have dropped since Oblivion came, not much we can do about it - I recall seeing a post about preserving Community Discussion quality since people are flaming and behaving childish...

*sighs* I got banned immediately for posting up a zelda emulator pic, someone asked what emulator, banned after I posted it. I had NO warnings either. I miss that place. Anyway, this place is better IMO. Just that it isnt always being posted in. But that isnt a problem smile.gif

Yeah I stopped going.. but that was because of some log-in mess-up... So I stopped going out of loss of habit, I eventually went back and realised how crazy it was (I had alot of friends there; nice people, those vetrans were)

I go back every so often and trylend a helping hand, my morrowind help part of my head is falling behind after a couple of months of misuse... but its cool becuause this place started out as a small comunity and I was like the 28th (i just counted biggrin.gif) person, I pretty much got to watch this place grow into the thriving place it is now... good times, goood times. Heck I remember the first coffee shop, the three word story, and the word association threads. We had fun, small enough for not being utter confusion, but big enough so that we kept the things going.

i make it policy to never join any "official forums". they all end up like that sooner or later. fan-run forums that are kind of out of the way of standard internet traffic (like this one) always are much more hospitable. and, i agree, the fewer people, the easier it is to get along with everyone.

I absolutley hate the official forums. it's a complete circus down their.
ThanadoS
isn't that always the same? Quite old community board, new game gets released, a all-gone-wild hord of newbeings runs over the "good tone". After a while they'll leave again and the true fans will stay wink.gif

I blame Canada... no, wait biggrin.gif I blame Oblivion... wait, damnit ! No !
It was expected for a game of such influence and prestiege, such as TES IV, to attract large populus to official forums... and, as we know it, in such large populus you are bound to find a significant number of jerks and idiots; the worst part is, many of them don't even bother to read trough Rules and such stuff and because of that they break rules of forums nearly every day. Example ? Just yesterday, someone tried to start a religious debate on TESF Community Discussion... AGAIN sad.gif I am really fearing for poor moderator's mental health sad.gif

Well, with the "try to apease every noob" policy that Bethesda went for it's pretty obvious that alot of noobs and jerks and plain idiots will flood and spam the forums. The Oblivion General and Oblivion Spoilers is by far the worst place in the whole forums. When I go to the Official Forums, I only visit the Lore forum and the Past Games forum. Alot of civilized people and veterans in there. In the last weeks however, it's been my main habbit when opening the browser to check out W40. May this Forum live long and prosper!

There were waayyy to many people the last time I was there, it was like, you post something, and in that time another 3 posts were made by others... And since Oblivion came out and got hyped up, the number must've been increased.

When Morrowind came out, I kinda thought it sucked that nobody knew the game... But now, EVERY gamer knows Oblivion, it's really got hyped up and now I realize that I'd rather see it as a game for the hardcore gamers.

Ok, that's about enough elitism I can take for now. *lock*
