(Okay, i'm new at RPing and I wanted to try, but most current RPs are way too far into the story for me to join in, so I'm making my own. Any tips or advice is welcome.)
Plot
An ancient mage has somehow escaped the chains and fires of Oblivion and is now on the island of Vvardenfell. He found a portal to Oblivion left in a daedric shrine and returned to Tamriel. He was banished from the mortal realm by Azura, for performing all types of profane magicks(sp?). He was feared in his time, mostly because he was as unpredictable as his magick. He had many powers that no mage before or after him could dream of, much less comprehend. Most users of magick put limits on what can and cannot be done, this powerful mage made his own rules, made magick his art, and could do many strange and deadly things because of it - including escaping from hell itself.
This mage is a total mystery. No one knows his name, race, or if he is dead or alive, never having suffered a death, only a banishment from the mortal realm. Or has he somehow gained immortality?
please introduce your characters like this -
Name:
Age:
Sex:
Class:
Personality:
Brief History:
Other Physical Attributes: (height, build, anything you find necessary)
Don't know what kind of characters are needed....maybe someone could help? (that's what planning is for, no?)

I can't stop you from doing this but it'll be kinda hard doing three diff RP's at the same time..
I'd reccomend just jumping in one of them, another RP scares me..

What will happen, exactly?
Will the adventurers meet this mage and help him do something?
Will they fight him?
I need more details.
And this sounds quite fun; a pity it takes place in Vvardenfell.

Name: Falx Albarnian AKA Knight
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Class: Knight
Personality: Quiet, calm, rarely speaks, voice demands power when he does
Brief History: Falx, or Knight as many call him, is a quiet man from semi-noble family somewhere in Cyrodil. Live a freelance type of life but was convince to join the Imperial legion do to some force. He follows orders and does not go agaisnt them unless he utterly has to, but isn't very willing to do so
Other Physical Attributes: 6'2'', medium build, long free brown hair, scars from skirmishes, armor equivalent to that of what average Knight in the Imperial service would possesse.
I'm going to start in Cyrodil, maybe the place the RP is can switch somewhwere down the road.. I agree on Sinder with that..

Name: Arco
Age: 105
Sex: Male Dark Elf
Class: Warrior / Assassin
Personality: Lone, quiet, aggressive in some ways and can behave cold hearthed.
Brief History: Arco was raised in a noble family. Wars between the great houses made Arco's family a target. Was often attacked at home and ambushed on trips. Arco grew up in all this, until the day when some assassin's attacked their house and killed Arco's monther, father and he's two uncles. He managed to flee, and was later picked up by the third uncle. Later to be trained up to be a warrior to revange the deaths of his family. He cold blooded killed the assassin's and their leader sending him on the path to destroy all evil...
Phsysical Attributes: 6'2", medium built, black hair stretched back as spikes. Looks like a avarage Dunmer, has a tattoo of a circle on his right side on his face...
Think my character is going to start somewhere in Cyrodiil hunting down some evil mages or something. Later to meet the others in the RP..

Ill join...I was thinking of playing as a mage who has heard of this mysterious old wizard or what we prefer to call him,.and now shes (yes Ill play as a female!) doing some research about this, trying to find the truth. Then she will meet with others and then well see what happens.
do you think this will be ok?

good idea starting in Cyrodill rather than Vvardenfell, that is the very reason this is planning forum - for good ideas like that. Feel free to give any ideas
and i guess some could join the mage and some could fight him, depending on your character. I'll submit my character now..
Name: Sel (short for Selenil)
Age: 17
Sex: male
Class: fighter
Personality: Usually does good, but has a lot of slip-ups, oftentimes doing what serves himself rather thatn others. As a 17 year old, has a sense of youthful arrogance, which leads him to rebel from authority often. (a nice clash with Falx

)
Brief History: Raised in Morrowind, he left his home and went to Cyrodill after being labeled a murderer for killing a member of the cammona tong who raped and murdered the last member of his family he had - his sister.
Physical Attributes: about 5'10", not very strong - uses speed and agility to gain the upper hand in battles, shaggy black hair, never uses armor heavier than leather, and rarely even uses that, becuase armor slows him down, but also gets him more injuries than most normal fighters.
(And it seems that I forgot to add race into my character sheets, so...)
Race: dark elf
I don't know how to get all the characters together, so i guess more planning is in order....

Aki
Apr 29 2005, 09:21 PM
Name: Fenris Howlbreath
Race: Nord
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Race: Nord
Class: Warrior
Apearance: Tall, muscular, and looking like
this. He also wears a full suit of the 'Nordic Mail' of the skaal warriors, acquired after he went and tested himself against one.
Personality: In a Nutshell?
NORD.
Fenris is in many ways, like your typical Nord, except he is much smarter, not complex-math-in-your-head smart. More of hey-moron-its-a-trap! smart. Street smart kinda. Fenrir is also arrogant, somewhat disdainful of elves(Bosmer in particular).
Equipment: His full suit of Nordic mail (though he rarely wears the helm), a sheild of same style as his armor, a Stalhrim Longsword, and a bunch of restore health potions.
History: Fenris was originally born and raised in Skyrim. However, Fenris's upbringing differed from that of many nords. He was trained as a Nordic
tongue. Which means he can, and does harness the power of the voice that few Nords can. With this, he can move about by 'casting' his shout, or sharpen his blade, send opponents flying with a word, and more.
While not one who has to gagged to avoid destroying towns by saying 'Hello!', he is a skillful Tongue, not to mention a good swordsman. He has since traveled some of Morrowind, and of course, Soltheim, where he went to see what the Nords of the island were like.
He wasn't impressed when he blew the guard he challenged halfway to thirsk....
Small Note: Anyone who wishes to know of tongues, read
Children of the Sky.

I'll visit my library. If that doesn't work, Barnes and Noble.
Back on track - I was thinking that the mage could do something pretty bad, to get the attention of someone pretty important, who would need to hire skilled adventurers to stop him. ( Some characters could join the mage also. ) I just can't think of anything for the mage to do that is so bad, and i can't think of anyone important in Cyrodiil. So, I need ideas to fill in blanks. And I need to know who is going to join and who is going to fight the mage.
If this isn't a very good idea, let me know. I just can't think of anything better.

Hehe, lets say the Wizard has found out a ritual so powerful to slay a God, and needs artifacts from across Tamriel?
LOL, got flashbacks from a D&D Campaign..!
[quote=Fuzzy Knights]Hehe, lets say the Wizard has found out a ritual so powerful to slay a God, and needs artifacts from across Tamriel?

Nah, a bit too drastic, afterall, why would the Wizard
want to kill a god?
How about, the mage found a way to soul trap Humaniods (Something one normally CANNOT do, due to a divine law Arkay set down, which is void for all types of undead, corpus beasts, lycanthropes, and Daedra).
Who would want him put down?
Why, any priest of arkay. :goodjob:

May 4 2005, 02:57 PM
That sounded nice Aki, I hope we can have a little insane Wizard here.. Maybe all the power he gets from trapping the souls of humanoids have driven him totaly insane and is looking for more powerful souls - Ours!
Dantrag
May 4 2005, 07:43 PM
Hmmm.....i like the soul trap humaniod idea...maybe he is infusing these hmaniod souls into his own magically fabricated bodies? Forming an army and such?
What do you guys think?
Fuzzy Knight
May 4 2005, 07:47 PM
Hmm... Well, dont know if its possible. But maybe he is making a such a powerful artifact that can raise dead armies or something have no idea, but it would be cool to have some major big battles - My character would loove that :lickinglips:
Channler
May 4 2005, 09:00 PM
Well depending on the time period maybe it could be in the middle of a full blow war between the crumbling imperial empire and the army of the undead that is lead by the mage?
That'd be nice
[quote=Dantrag]Hmmm.....i like the soul trap humaniod idea...maybe he is infusing these hmaniod souls into his own magically fabricated bodies? Forming an army and such?

Hmm...
Well, if he was in Vvardenfell/Morrowind itself, perhaps he is also screwing with Centurions, AND infusing the souls into them.
Making the centurions far superior to their old counterparts...
Of course, with this, he can't have
too many centurions, so in addition...hmm...
And, unless the Dunmer know the rituals to enable one to be incapable of raising the dead from say, ashes, and such. He could head to necrom and pull a veritable army out of that Dunmeri city of the dead. Though, considering Dunmer burn their dead, it would be a army of ghosts and wraiths and such.
Not to mention how he could make, like, golems of flesh from multiple corpses infused with one soul...
The possibilites this guy has are pratically endless.

Sounds like fun, here's my character
Name: Jonacin
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Class: Blademaster (custom class)
Personality: Taciturn, likes to keep to himself. Is a loyal friend and will go through the fires of oblivion to protect those he cares about
Brief History: Was a famous warrior in his homeland during his youth, but when he was defeated by antoher, younger warrior he left to become a wandering adventurer. Since then he has become a Blademaster, but no longer wishes to return home, prefering to see the world and live each day as it comes
Other Physical Attributes: Very tall, looks somewhat forbidding. Very muscualr and athletic. Close cropped black hair, clean shaven.

May 5 2005, 10:02 PM
All good ideas so I'm going to try to combine them right here -
OKay,
The mage has learned how to obtain the souls of humaniods. He has also found a powerful artifact - a wizard's staff he found in oblivion (lame i know lol.) that allows him to infuse these souls into other beings, animating anything the mage likes. He has begun to raise an army of Ancient dwemer creations, golems, and even corpses. He plans to rule the mortal realm before returning to oblivion with his fabricated army to pay Azura back in full.
Azura has sent her servants, the winged twilights, to give a message to the chosen ones (our characters of course!!) to stop the mage from his plan. Who will help the godess, and who will join the mage?
Sound good? I'm just ready to get started. Tell me what you think.

since my rp is dieing i think this one might be a good turn for the...err...something. but i have questions first:
1) Are u the hell-mage? If not, is that mage gonna be a community NPC that we control as a team via the planning guide?
2) Is it set in Morrowind or in another location? (This area is being done to death)
3) Do u have a good plot thought out? (trust me, not having a plot can kill an rp thread in seconds.)
4) Why is France?
Dantrag
May 5 2005, 10:07 PM
1) no i am not. Yes to the community char. (unless someone wants to be him.)
2) Starts in Cyrodiil, ends up in morrowind
3) thats what this thread is for
4) because some moron decided we shouldn't kill all frenchies

I think it sounds quite nice Dantrag, and I guess we need to travel around in old Dwemer Ruins and all those stuff. But I hope u got something in your mind to worsen this up so its just not go in and kill him.. Try to part it up into several small quests so in the end we might have the courage and strength, if not any artifacts or something to give us a advantage or something over him...
