ok iv looked around on a few forums and people keep saying theres only 5 factions when there are more than that cos they show up in your jernal thing . At the moment iv have found

1.Fighters Guild
2.Mages Guild
3.The Blades
4.Knights of the White Stalion
5.Dark Brotherhood
6.The arena
7.Thiefs Guild
8.Order Of the Dragon (who are vampire slayers)


Is there any more that people know of . Cos i know theres 2 others both knights of sumthing herd one mentiond and the others the son of a count in the game.

The count one is the Knights of the Thorn, but I don't think you're able to join them. And... you probably don't want to, either.

For that matter.... Fighter's Guild is pretty poor this time around as well. After you figure out where the trainers are, the only other use is lots of free supplies for alchemy.
I HATE escort missions, and more than half the Fighter's Guild quests are escorts.

Blades are the main story line. DB (see the many threads on the Dark Brotherhood) is only joinable after you murder someone. Thieves (see the many threads on this one) is only joinable after some thefts/jail time. The others aren't joinable, but are parts of various quests.

I think we need a few people creating a like a mod with about 30-40 factions hehe

That factions would seriusly lack in quality and storyline.Besides:40 Factions?Pfft you gatta be kidding me......

Still,have you playesd Morrowind?There are a LOT more factions there than in Oblivion.....You might want to visit Silgrad Tower .......They are making Morrowind as a province to Oblivion.I think all the previus factions will be in......

Honestly, I think that the developers have got it right. Few factions, but there is some inherent thought and quality to them.

Besides, Morrowind is, in game terms, the land of freaks. So it's only fair that it has one too many freaky little factions.

Personally the one thing that I thought was missing was inter-faction rivallry. You can be the head of all of them. I'd have preferred it like the mafioso families in Fallout 2: you can't be a made man for all of them, in fact, once you reach so far in a faction, the others tend to spit on you. Then again, maybe they spat on me because I was sleeping with their boss' wife and daughter... messed up game, that Fallout 2.

well ok maybe not 40 but 20 factione made a lil longer so wen uv done the main game u still got plenty of stuff to do

yer sumthing like that would be a bit better n help lengthen the game after the main quest plus wen theres a mod out to get all the other elder scrolls maps to add onto oblivion will be great so much to go n do

I might be misunderstanding you both but, he was listing off the whole name, Imperial Cult of the Nine Divines is what the formal name is if i'm not mistaken

Oh,sorry i misread it.I thought he said ''Imperial Cult AND The Nine Devines''.Because in Daggerfall (TES 2) you could join every Nine Divine Temple seperatly.Temple of Akatosh,Temple of Mara and so on......

Actually, you can join the mystic dawn cult but you are forced out if you take their book. I dont know if they have any quests.

i also found out theres order of talos witch is for old blade members herd it mentiond by the grandmaster of the blades
