Hey guys, im on the last Thief's Guild quest and i slept in the dungeon and awoke a vampire. I am wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages of being a vampire. Should i go on not as a vamp? or as one? I just dont want to find out that i have to keep killing people to live.

Well, apperently vampirism is always curable, so go for it! You get invisibility, you can feed on people's blood while they sleep, and not everyone runs away from you, especcialy if you feed on blood enough.

i personally didnt like vampirism... the bads outweighed the goods, in my opinion
but, a lot of people like it and think it adds variety to the game...
the longer you go without feeding, the more powerful you get (strength, speed, etc) and you get more active and passive abilities
but also, the longer you go without feeding, the more people dislike you and the more the sun hurts you during the day... you also cant fast travel or wait outside during the day

i once got stuck and had wait for about an hour when i went into someone's house (not in town, in the middle of nowhere) and then the sun came up... it wouldnt let me wait because i was trespassing, but if i went outside, anything that i could wait in was too far away for me to get to before i fell over dead from the sun. so i had to wait til night time came back around until i could do anything again

well, that post was a lot longer than it needed to be, but i think i got my point across about why i disliked being a vampire...

It's personal choice, I don't get anything out of being a vampire really, but I don't lose anything since feeding off a bum is easy as pie. Occasionaly there's the possibility of mess ups like the poster above said, but usually when I'm travelling if it starts to get close to like 6:00 am I just fast travel to the closest city or landmark where I can wait somewhere and go inside to the day out. Some of the powers are really cool. I kind of want to just stay in my house for like 20 days straight to see what all the powers are.

the best place to get them is at the alchemist vendors @various mages guilds... they'll cost ya tho

I stole three from the arcane library. They were right there in the front lobby in a display case. Unless stolen gems won't work, there's half the battle done.

I love being a vampire! At first I was pissed and I almost loaded an old save, but I played it a little bit and wow! I'm a beast! I'm stronger, I'm better at magic, and I get hunter vision which rocks! I'm in the process of finding the cure but I dobut that I'll even use it. You should at least give it a try.

Ive yet to become a vampire. I imagine I will like it since I always become one through choice. So I wont ever be in a stiff situation, well hopefully not.

Heh, waaay back when I started the game I contracted porphyric hemophilia, but went to a chapel and got it taken care of.

Now, my redguard has gained an additional 30% disease resistance, so it's not even a worry wink.gif, but you should always carry a few cure disease potions/scrolls/spells otherwise.
