Argith, I call my white horse that has lasted the whole game that name. (and as you know that is a amazing lifespan for an Oblivion horse.)

You can do that in the construction set. Just modify the name of the horse in the creature section.

I would name mine Cerberus, simply because I would think it's cool to ride a hellbeast. I don't care if it's actually a dog! It'll be a horse in Oblivion!!

If you plan to have an evil horse, pehaps Shadowrider. I'll make a chart according to color:
White - Quicksilver or Starflash
Black - Shadowrider or Nightshadow or Shadowsky
Painted - Abysia
Chestnut - Rising Sun

I can't think up a name for a bay, so just follow the chestnut listing I suppose.

I duno, I'm bloody sick of my horse being called Prior Maborels Paint Horse though! How does anyone manage to get enough money to bbuy a house, i've been saving up for ages and i can't raise the money for it. Is there quest that get's lots of money?!

Are you sure you haven't money for it? Paint horses is 500 septims I think. And that would be... 2 fighters guild quests. Although they aren't too fast.
Anyway, I would probably name my horse Zerox because it's a black horse. If I had a white horse i would name it Indery.

You can do this in the console. If I'm not mistaken the command is:

setactorfullname "name"

In order to use this, you have to open the console (~) and click on the horse, as it is a targeted command.

I've re-named 2 horses in this manner.

Lothran´s horse has her own name but it doesn´t show up on my screen. No need for that though

My Argonian Gyevaheera named her stolen legion horse 'Shadow', my Bosmer Falador named his Unicorn 'Rebel', my Khajiit K'hista named Prior Maborel's paint horse simply - Prior Maborel.

Buffy's precious black mare is named Superian. She named the mare after her parents. Superior + Terry Ann = Superian.

BTW, the real Superian was the thoroughbred and champion hunter/jumper of my grandfather. Sure enough, Superian's sire was Superior and her dam was Terry Ann. Superian's grandsire was none other than Gallant Fox (1930 Triple Crown Winner). When grandfather first brought Superian home to his stable, she was so young that she came home in the bed of his pickup truck and he lifted her out of it. She was a typical thoroughbred - skittish, prancy and a one-man horse. Grandfather adored and doted on her. She filled his basement with ribbons and, like her famous grandsire, lived nearly three decades.

How nice, I haven't known so far what the names of Buffy's parents are.

To elaborate a bit, Lothran´s mare is called Aetherius and it was actually Buffy who came up with the name. It´s Lothran´s second Paint in fact. His first was slain by an ogre on the way down from Bruma once. Needless to say it was a very sad moment and since then, Lothran´s mount has rarely left the Wildeye stables.

I will never forget the sad sad tale of Georgia,that horse was the only one who made Roggar not be a vicious murderous Nord who had little mercy.

Not long after they met they were both slaughtered by bandits.

And they were destined for great things!

Darnand's bay is named Banner. Jerric's chestnut is called Kip. They are the only horse owners in my games, though Selador would benefit from the higher vantage point. The thought of riding a horse has not yet crossed his mind.
