Scratch my last post, because Blockbuster decided to suck they won't have the game for retail in stock until the 24th. Why you ask? So people will rent the game first for a few days, THEN buy it. Whitch I might do... stupid Blockbuster, I am never buying a game there again.

I had it last night. So i went to a friends plugged it in. Bam. Incredible. Gamestop got it around 7 PM E.S.T on the 20th and havent stopped since. Been going on for about 17 hours now

Reading posts about people who already have Oblivion is unbearable! They should start employing this as a kind of torture method - show people videos and demos of Oblivion and then make them wait until they reveal all!

Got my copy last night, played for 5 hours or so, here are the impressions.
Character creation was a blast, lots of options, actually too much for me. I am just going to wait for someone to make a mod with angelina jolie's face then use it later.
The tutorial section was quite long, took about an hour to finish it, but I am sure for the second time around , anyone can just blast thru it in 15-30 mins.
Once you leave the dungeon, then the game really starts. You come out of the tunnel, and in front of you, you see a very peaceful lake. The lake has a perfect reflection mirror like surface until you step in. There are butterflies flying around the flowers, the mountain in front of you is so big and the forest looks dense on it.
I didn't go to the forest yet, because I am not a ranger guy. So I opened the map and headed to the big city. There I did my first quest, took me an hour to finish! It was easy but quite a lot of twists and stuff for it. Now I am going to go into the forest and explore for a bit.
Combat was WAYYYYYYYY better then morring, especially now that we can block on our own. magic was cool too, cuz we dun need to re-equip to the spells casting hands... lol...
The menu takes a little bit of time to master, but once you play for a while, everything is smooth like butter.
one more thing, with all the hype about the physics of the game, I am somewhat disappointed. It is completely useless in the game, it's just a little addition to make the game look good. well, I think the physics engine apply to archery and the traps, and that's about it. I always thought you could maybe take an axe out from your inventory and throw it at the goblin? haha. guess that's not possible yet. Well the physics engine is fun to play around I guess...

Hi there. I'm from Germany, and when I was to buy the game today, it wasn't out in stores yet.
I hope that it'll be there tomorrow... does anyone know if the european release date differs from the one of North America?

EB games was supposed to have it today! I reserved it and everything! But stupid UPS forgot the F-in shipment in Menphas, Tennesse! I HATE UPS. They're always f*ck*ng things up.

YES i got it, it is soooo awesome, i have already played for five hours and i;ve only had it for five hours it is excellent, there is no let down, well maybe one, that i cant try everything at once

Aye... been playin for the last 6 hours straight.. hamster cave awesome. That is the only word I can use to describe it.

If you didn't like morrowinds MQ this one should be perfect though.

UPS did finally come through for me and I must say after 7 hours now...

I really cannot describe how good this game is... Worth every minute of the wait and more!

I can't wait til everyone gets a chance to play it!

God... I'm not even sure if i'm getting it on friday or not. They're sending it on thursday and i asked will it be here at friday if you send it at thursday, they said that the mail moves at night - the game will arrive on friday - I surely hope it will, coz if it won't, they'll get a hell of lot spammin' since i've got a lan party at friday - just to play Oblivion. Sheesh i can't wait. I'm so nervous will it be here. So nervous.. God..

Havent gotten it yet, but Ive played it. I have officially concluded that real life's graffics are lame...

The game definatly feals more like Daggerfall, than morrowind. (Which I consider good)

I am a veteran Elder Scrolls player. I remember buying Arena because it was the heaviest game in the store (in those days, you judged a game by how heavy the box was - more disks - not CDs - the better). Anyway, my first impression of Arena was the same: WOW !

Now, roughly ten years later, it is truly amazing how the technoloy has advanced. Things that I only imagined might be possible when I first played Arena are now, unbelievably, right before my very eyes on a 53" screen !!!

Only played about 4 hours last night - but I can't wait to get back to it.

I will also get the PC version in order to play with the editor, but for the next few months I plan to explore every nook and cranny . . .

HAh....I got it today Fuzzy...and I bought it in our beloved Norway....i bought the CE from EB games at the mall herein stavanger.....I managed to get my fingers on the very last copy of it.....after a little fighting of course....

gameplay have just dispatched my CE for one of those overnight delivery things, so i expect it will arrive as planned on friday. but i cant get rid of the hope that it might arrive early and be here when i return from uni tomorrow. this is awful, you know, just like when youre a little kid and its coming up to christmas

It went on sale here in Australia at midnight last night (at the same time as the XBox360 launch here... heh, it really was a launch title for the 360, here).

I didn't get mine until 9:30 this morning, in fact, because I'd pre-ordered it. It was in this morning's post, though, so that was good. What wasn't good was that I'd recieved it at work, so I had to have it but not play it until lunchtime (although I set it installing on my laptop while I did other stuff, so I could jump straight in when the time came.)

I liked the fact that it detected my hardware's capabilities and scaled the graphics options down automatically. I was a bit worried about my laptop's ability to run it, since one of the more intensive Morrowind mods (Wizard's Island) brought it to its knees, but the framerate has been (mostly) fine, and even with the graphics options down low (where it set them) it looks plenty pretty to me

What with stopping part-way through and going back to the start to play through again with headphones on once I lost the audience, I only just got outside before I had to stop, but it's been great so far!

Heh heh....no I was using...TWO ebony broadswords....heh dismembered bodies and all...just to get the best game in the world.

So today...since I'm not allowed to work...hand injury, I'll spend the time with Oblivion instead.

Congrats for having the game Telendil! Here's a little hint, something for you to do before it becomes a cliche'. Write a fan fiction that tells the adventures of a character from Oblivion. Be quick about it though, before it becomes a cliche! I know I'll be doing that.
