The new "1 day to go" countdown trailer contains a possibly big spoiler! If you don't want to glimpse what might just be OBLIVION itself, do not watch it!
I watched it and I regret it.
PS: Yes, I know that there is a spoiler section in the forums, but this isn't exactly a spoiler, it's more of an anti-spoiler.

You see the same thing in the OXM magazine.

Not sure... unlike the other "countdown" videos, this didn't look like footage from the actual game, but rather footage from a cut-scene.
Therefore, it may well be in the opening cut-scene. Or, perhaps in a cut-scene after the emperor dies.
But the act of giving spoiler-warnings is appreciated. I wandered into the "spoilers" forum here out of curiosity, confident that there couldn't be anything too bad in there yet with the game not (quite) in people's hands, and read something that I regret, where they're going on about the significance of something innocuous that I'd seen, but not given a second glance.

No, that wasn't the opening cutscene, it's a scene where the player has just fought through one realm in oblivion and closed that particular gate.

Oh, ok.
I'm not going to ask how you know that, in case there are more spoilers in your reply.
Oh well, then, yes, I guess the 1-day countdown vid has a spoiler in it, and we now know what exactly the spoiler is from.

That's what I assumed, but yeah.... didn't really want to spoil it.
On that note, this thread should probably be moved...

Probably, I don't see how that's a spoiler though, but I could go on. Anyway, I know that from the most recent issue of OXM.

my view on the (i though, pretty rubbish compared to the first) countdown video is that bethesda know their stuff and if that was a big spoiler for the fans then they wouldnt put it in, would they? so stop fretting and have a little trust.

If we take it that way then Bethesda released a huge spoiler in a countdown video a few days back. But I won't say it just to avoid spoiling someone's experience. I hate beeing spoiled and I don't wish anyone else on these forums to get spoiled.

im sorry but i have no idea what you mean. if what i said was unclear (and it does seem a bit like that in retrospect), what i said was: they wouldnt put a big spoiler in a video because they arent fools and they know how much the fans would go ape-feces about it if they did. therefore what IS in the video must not be of particular consequence, or at least not a spoiler.

I understood what you were saying. I know what we see here isn't a HUGE spoiler. It's small fry, people will be doing this sort of thing, gate closing, for alot of time so they'll get used to it. I was saying that in the 3 day countdown video they showed a pretty big spoiler which makes part of the game's slogan.

Go to new Countdown video in the spoilers section to see what the big spoiler was.

oh i see. well id never have noticed that if i hadnt read it in the forums. i suppose they could have been a bit more careful with that one, but like i said, i wouldnt have known. the *cough* was there for barely 2 seconds on screen... ah well.

It was enough time for everybody to recognise *bloody goat's* voice and his apearance. You could even see the name *Relative Kingsley* which everybody already knew was the name of the *key master*. I love avoiding spoilers!

I'm sure that, by now, most of you know that all of these "major spoilers" (including the quest log spoiler) aren't very major at all.
**Spoiler (obviously)**
You find out who the heir is, where to find him, and even talk to him pretty early on. I closed my first OB gate at level 1. They didn't release anything that wasn't newbie stuff.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Well, good thing finding the heir is the easy part.
