Chapter 6 - The Killer Within.

Taillus makes his way to the topside level of the Arena and looks for a seat. He decides to sit close to the arena itself so that he can see all of the details. He was looking forward to seeing what caliber of fighters were entered into the competition and could find himself at an advantage if he could figure out the winner’s fighting styles.

He watched as the spectators began to get antsy at the annunciation of the fighter’s names. From what Taillus could tell, the fighter named Artus was a fan favorite. He watched as the two men walked through opened doors and stand at opposite ends of the arena. The crowd goes eerily silent as both men have three minutes to emotionally prepare themselves.

The one known as Artus stands wearing a full suit of steel armor with a large battle axe and a sturdy steel shield. Artus had taken the liberty to etch a notch into the shield seemingly having one for each man he killed in battle. Taillus quickly counted coming up with an impressive number of twenty three.

The other fighter was a very solidly built Orc. His name was quite hard to announce so Taillus eventually gave up trying to repeat it. Nevertheless, the orc had only a pair of rusted iron greaves and an equally tarnished pair of iron boots. His upper body was completely void of armor and he had a single halberd in his hands.

A man stood at the top of a podium with a large bug shell at his mouth, the way it was shaped allowed his voice to be amplified so that the entire arena could hear him speak, after stating each combatant’s wins versus losses, he raises his hand and signals for both men to begin fighting.

The Orc belts out a bone shaking battle cry as both men charge headlong in each other’s direction. The fighter known as Artus quickly finds himself equipped wrongly for the fight when He ducks behind his shield only to feel the halberd scrape away a piece of the steel armor on his back. The Orc was far too tall for the shield to offer the protection it should have provided.

Artus quickly rolls to the side, abandoning his shield and swings desperately at the abdomen of the large Orc. The orc simply strafes to the side and pierces the fighter’s leg with the superior reach of his halberd.

The man shrieks in pain as he looks to see blood drip from underneath his grieves. The Orc being surprisingly nimble for his size, quickly removes the halberd from Artus’s leg and spins it before him, allowing the blade to catch the fighter in the helm. Artus falls to the dirt covered floor of the arena.

The Orc steps back, giving Artus a chance to get to his feet while laughing a deep, belly laugh and yelling obscenities at the downed fighter.

Artus shakily gets to his feet obviously favoring the leg that had been recently skewered by the Orc’s halberd. He motions for the Orc to continue and he readies his axe. The Orc charges once again but it shocked to see Artus throw his Axe with all of his might. It sails over the shoulder of the Orc, who smiles at his good fortune.

What he fails to notice is that the Axe is on a chain that Artus quickly grabs tightly and spins on his heels before hauling it back to him. The chain loses its slack and reverses direction in mid air. The Orc’s smile fades as he looks over his shoulder just in time to see the axe bury itself deeply in the side of his neck. Artus gives one last pull, bringing the ill fated orc to the ground at his feet.

The crowd cheers loudly and Taillus himself couldn’t help but stand and applaud the quick and clever thinking of Artus. He was going to have to have some tricks up his sleeve in order to remain among the living he thinks to himself before getting to his feet and heading downstairs once again.

Do you like Fire emblem? I love that unit that wields big weapons on chains. This reminded me of it. A great fight scene and I'll be looking forward to the rest of the chapter.
Taillus
Yup! that is where I stumbled upon the idea of the chained axe. I haven't played that game in a while but it has always been a favorite of mine. The game and the weapon both.

Taillus decides to suit up completely considering that he was going to be squaring off in the last battle of the night. He wonders what he could use to his advantage if things got too messy. He sheathes his long blade to his side as well as keeping his mace at hand. He double checks his armor to make sure that it was all attached correctly and waits for his name to be called.

He can hear above him, the next battle as the crowd cheers signifying that something astonishing had happened. He can hear the metal on metal clashing between the two men and Taillus begins to worry about his fate. He was going to be squaring off against a professional fighter who has survived fighting other professional fighters. Taillus can picture in his head standing toe to toe with a bloodthirsty orc with a big club that he uses to pound repeatedly against Taillus’ head.

Taillus curses Molag Bal for making him do this and wishes he could be on that forsaken boat to who knows where. He began to wonder what things would be like if he went into hiding in the ashlands somewhere. Anything would be better then his fate here.

One of the Arena directors walks over to the now nervous Taillus and pats him on the shoulder. He smiles as he checks his list looking to see his ranking.

“This is your first fight isn’t it friend? I have one piece of advise for you. If you manage to slay your opponent tonight, all of his equipment is yours for the taking. You can use it or sell it but either way, this is one of the most important pieces of information you can have.” The director says as he checks off Taillus’s name.

Taillus nods and steps over to the doors that will eventually open, revealing his opponent. He can feel his heart pound against his ribs and his legs get weak, barely able to hold him up. He can hear the crowd shouting and yelling as the announcer begins to give the names. He closes his eyes when he hears the other fighter’s records. Twelve kills, no losses. Taillus grips the Mace of Molag Bal as the door quickly swings open.

Standing before him was a fighter in Redoran House Bonemold Armor. He had a sword that was swirling with an enchantment and a short sword that was sheathed at his side. Taillus begain to breathe heavily as hatred fills him. He practically growls as he stares at the fighter. His name was Crippler but that was obviously a nickname.

Taillus swears to himself that even if it was the last thing he would do, he would peel that helmet off and figure out who was inside. But right now it looked like Jiub so he was going to treat him like Jiub.

The announcer lifted his hand and signaled for the battle to start and Taillus blasted off. He ran at full speed at the Redoran armored foe. Crippler charged at Taillus as well but with the sudden drive to spill this fighter’s blood all over the arena, Taillus was much quicker.

Very nice Taillus, I love the descriptive elements of your story as well as the way that you've made a sort of storyline for the character to follow and it has set this story up to be one of the most interesting I've ever read. I'll be waiting4updates mate. biggrin.gif
Taillus
Thanks for all the support that has been given over the past couple of months. This has been so much fun telling the story of Taillus. It has quickly made Fanfics a hobby of mine and even after my short work is done I will be stepping into Oblivion to tell the story of Xander.

Here is the next update folks, Hope you love it!

Taillus jumped into the air planting a well placed armored boot at the fighter’s collar bone making him stagger backwards. The crowd roars as Taillus lands on his feet and swings the mace hard. It collides with the fighter sending him backwards once again as the ever familiar red energy courses through him.

Taillus yells out loud as his opponent regains his composure. Taillus takes another swing that causes his mace to ricochet off of the fighter’s helm knocking him to his knees. Taillus kicks the downed opponent in the rib cage over and over, each time sending him into the air from the added strength of the mace.

Taillus steps back and swings the mace once more, letting it land squarely on the fighter’s back, cracking his armor in two. The crowd gasps as the bonemold armored warrior still shakily gets to his feet.

Taillus gasps as the fighter stabs his enchanted sword at him. He can feel it wedge into his armor and drops to his knees as the sting of lightning and fire followed by ice paralyze him with pain. He grits his teeth as the fighter gets to his feet. Taillus quickly raises his hand to block the swing of the enemy sword, sighing with relief as it slides up the length of his gauntlet and into the air.

Taillus rolls to avoid the downward counter from the fighter and smirks as the enchanted blade strikes the ground emitting the same three colored burst he remembered.

“Revenge is such a great pleasure Jiub, and I am about to get mine!” Taillus yells as he swings his mace in a downward arc at the fighter’s head with one hand. He grins as his opponent quickly and instinctively brings his blade up to block and places his other hand on the flat of the elemental blade for reinforcement. Taillus reaches to his side with god-like speed and releases his long sword.

As his opponent was struggling to keep Taillus’ one hand at bay due to the difference in strength the mace adds, Taillus ends the battle by letting his blade slide deep into the small space where his foe’s helmet meets his chest piece. Taillus watches as the fighter drops to the ground and he removes his sword from his neck before kneeling down to remove the helm.

“Your first kill my boy. I knew you had it in you, and my mace proved quite useful as well. This is a great step Taillus. Keep killing and soon you will be ready for my bidding.” Molag whispers as Taillus focuses on getting the helmet off.

As the bug shell helmet of the House Redoran slides off the fighter’s head, Taillus is shocked to see the face of a young dark elf with red hair. Not jiub at all. Taillus begins removing the armor so that he could either use it or generate a profit from it but is saddened in the fact that he hadn’t killed Jiub. He could have sworn that it was Jiub. Everything fit perfectly.

Taillus shakes his head as he gathers his spoils of battle. The crowd waits silently for some indication of the battle being over. Taillus feels as though he should perform some crowd pleasing act of celebration so he holds the bloody helm of his young foe in the air and shouts.

“Who’s life will I end next? Is this the best Morrowind Has to offer!?” He yells as he points the helm at the crowd. The spectators explode with excitement and they get to their feet. The announcer picks up his shell horn and stands on his platform.

“It seems our outlander is trying to break records here my friends. Never have I seen a newcomer with such skill!” The announcer shouts as the crowd still hollers and screams. Taillus heads to the opened door from which he came and heads to the lower levels.

I knew you had been inspired by Fire Emblem. Anyway, a great fight scene. Too bad it wasn't Jiub, but it only means that the little mean Elf will get a much worse punishment in the end. I wonder how the sword got here, maybe Jiub sold it or they're mass-produced?

Awesome scene in the arena Taillus, very well written with a good flow to it, keep it up.

Ah Taillus..you surely ARE moving very fast..I haven´t had a chance to read it all, so I´ll just do as I said I´d do with Anima de Nerezza..I´ll copy and paste and THEN read....

But it´s just so awesome......your story I mean.
Taillus
It's going to be hard to leave this for a few days but I am going to focus on the Clash of Titans so hopefully you enjoy this update and I hope it holds you over for a while.

Taillus quickly shoves all of his newly acquired armor and decides to sell it upon sunrise. As he closes his cubby, he is met once again by Vanguard who leans against a nearby wall applauding softly.

“That was quite a good battle Outlander. It seems that you have a skill for ending people’s lives. That poor kid didn’t even stand a chance.” Vanguard states as he begins walking toward Taillus.

“Please don’t remind me. I had no idea people so young could even enter this competition. Before I was aware, my blade was piercing his neck. Why is there not rules stating that age must be looked into before one can enter the competition?” Taillus asks as his stomach feels sick. That poor young man was just beginning his life and Taillus ended it with one swift plunge of his sword.

It brought to light how Taillus will feel for the rest of his life thanks to Molag Bal. He would be forced to kill so many more from here on out and he would have to learn to ignore the overwhelming feeling of guilt.

“You feel sick to your stomach don’t you outlander? You really must be new to this. I assure you that your feelings of guilt will subside and you will learn to ignore what you have done and who you have killed. Do not think of your enemies as people, think of them as Daedric Demons that you are slaying for the good of Morrowind. Remember, this is all for your younger sister.” Vanguard states as Taillus nods.

“Yeah you are right Vanguard. This is all for my sister.” Taillus confirms as he heads for the lavatory. He felt as though he could fill the wasteworks with his vomit he felt so badly and he ran, leaving Vanguard behind as he hoped to remedy the feeling.

Days pass and Taillus defeats opponent after opponent with relative ease. He had no idea that arena battles were so simple. Either he was far stonger then he had originally thought or the men he was fighting were hyped and not as powerful as they thought. Taillus managed to ascend the ranks of the rookie levels within weeks and was a fan favorite in no time.

“I can’t believe this outlander. You have been here only a short time and you have acquired a very large fan base. It took me years to rally enough followers.” Vanguard says as Taillus wipes the blood from his long blade from his most recent battle.

Taillus was beginning to like this life that he led. He could feel well killing this way because these men were not innocent. It was simply a choice of killing or being killed. He had earned a large sum of money from both victory winnings as well as pawning off each opponent’s gear.

It was also great for Taillus since he hadn’t had to endure the invading voice of Molag Bal for quite some time. Things were beginning to change for Taillus and he liked it. He did like it rather, up until the fight coordinator announced the next day’s evening battle.

“Taillus, my sheet tells me that you will squaring off against Vanguard and Artus both in a free-for-all. Best of luck to you my rookie friend, you’ll need it.” The coordinator declares as he starts writing on his paper and turns to leave.

The arena is a harsh place. Taillus knew that it would be for the better to not make friends but Vanguard had helped him out on so many occasions. He suspected that this match would have happened sooner or later but he wasn’t sure he was ready yet. He wasn’t sure he was ready for a free-for-all either.

Great update Taillus, I really want to see how the character handles himself in the fight against his friend.

I wish I could count on more soon but I understand that you are refocusing your time into the Clash of Titans competition. It'll be fun mate. smile.gif
Taillus
A surprise post for Sunday! My girlfriend is addicted to a game called "Zuma" and she has been playing it like mad tongue.gif giving me a few extra minutes to post this piece before I get ready for Clash of the Titans. Sorry again for all of those that are finding it hard to keep up but the story itself is almost finished.

Vanguard approaches Taillus after coming back from sparring and can see the voided look on his face. He wipes the sweat from his forhead and lets the cloth rest over his shoulder.

“You look like you have just come across a Golden Saint my friend, what troubles you?” Vanguard asks as he looks at Taillus’ blank stare. Taillus snaps out of his trance and looks at his friend turned enemy.

“The coordinator just told me my match tomorrow. I am to face you and Artus in a free-for-all late in the evening. I think I am going to be sick.” Taillus says slightly reminiscent of his first Arena match.

“Taillus, I knew about this fight since earlier this morning. It is best not to get worked up about it. Lets just say may the best man win and hope that that man isn’t Artus.” Vanguard laughs as he punches Taillus in the sholder in a friendly manner.

“How can you laugh about this? One or both of us will die tomorrow! Does that not disturb you?” Taillus asks as he feels a headache coming on. Vanguard smiles before pushing Taillus against the lockers.

“Why do you think I have been like a friend to you, Outlander? I learn your tactics and then use them against you. I have killed many “Friends” in the past with the same tactic. Good luck tomorrow you fool! I hope you can devise some new moves lest you wind up a bloody mess at the business end of my sword!” Vanguard yells before shoving Taillus again.

Taillus shakes his head as Vanguard walks off before opening his locker. His same old, same old armor and weapons would not do this time. He was going to have to try something new or else Vanguard would tear him to bits. He wonders why everyone in Morrowind chooses to prey on others to get ahead but again, Taillus was caught being too trusting.

Taillus walked to the foreign quarter with a large bag full of items, weapons and armor. He hoped that a merchant that he had made friends with over time would not let him down like his other supposed friends have done in the past. This relationship was different in that it was improved by money. Taillus brought him armor and weapons to fuel his inventory, and the merchant gave him money. Simple, and to the point was all they needed to get along.

After a half day of bargaining and doing some heavy lifting as a favor, Taillus ended up with an entirely new setup. He thought of Artus’ creative fighting style and decided that speed would be one of the best ways to deal with him, and the simple brute force of Vanguard could be countered by some well used magicka. Taillus heads to his room for the night actually confident in the outcome of the battle.

The entire day before the battle was spent for Taillus practicing in the wasteworks below the foreign quarter. The smell alone would keep anyone from seeing his new equipment and fighting rats would improve his proficiency with his new setup.

Late afternoon Taillus decided to sit and calmly run through his opponent’s tactics in his head. He decided that he should be mentally prepared as well as physically and for the first time would actually go into battle thinking. He suited up as the crowds can be heard throughout the city of Vivec and Taillus was certain that Vivec himself would have been awaken from his deep meditations from the sounds.

Wow, another guy misused his trust. This is getting painfull, but it will lead him to the dark side of Molag Bal. Now let's see what Taillus is going to do.
Kiln
Great work Taillus, I really love the way you weave together so many story elements into every update. There is alot of emphasis on the trust issues of Morrowind's inhabitants in this story, making it a truly cruel place to survive.

Update soon, I can't wait.
Taillus
Seeing as how we have a very slight delay in Clash I decided that I would look over the next bit and post some more of the Taillus story. I hope everyone likes it!

He heads to the door as it slowly opens. Artus was already in the battle pit waiting and Vanguard followed soon after Taillus. The crowd erupts at the sight of the three men and he had noticed that both men had altered their tactics as well.

Artus had long since abandoned his trophy shield seeing that it almost cost him his life in the battle with the orc. He still sported a full suit of steel armor and had his axe strapped to his side. He wielded a large claymore that he was gripping tightly with both hands and trying to rally the crowds.

Vanguard was dressed in full orcish armor without the helm and was holding a large tower shield and a halberd. This was far more defensive then normal for Vanguard and Tallus wondered if he was going to be able to take him down.

“This is the battle that you have all been waiting for. The top three ranked men of the arena, your favorites will now square off for the chance to be ranked the number one fighter. Make sure your bets are placed and the carnage will take place in minutes.” The announcer shouts, making the crowd erupt once again.

Taillus stands looking at the two men wondering how he was going to survive. He had equipped himself as best he thought to take on the two men but they had rearranged their tactics as well. Taillus thought that going for mobility would be his best bet and he had picked up a full set of netch leather armor without the helm. He also decided that a halberd would help compliment the pathetic reach of the mace of Molag Bal.

The announcer quickly raises his hand and Taillus feels his heart sink. He swallows hard as the hand falls almost in slow motion. This is it. Either he kills two men at once or he dies. He sees the dirt lift by Artus’ feet as he suddenly breaks into a run. Vanguard casts an unknown spell before sprinting towards the middle of the arena as well. Taillus himself slinks inward, not as eager due to his lack of armor.

“Taillus whispers something to himself as he looks to the ground before him. He pats his chest and looks up at his opponents before readying his weapon and stepping closer to his foes.

All three men close in to the middle of the arena and prepare for a long, drawn out fight. Taillus finds his choice in armor a life saving one when he nimbly dodges two attacks from both men. He ducks and weaves, blocking with the staff of his halberd and countering with swings of his own. The sound of metal hitting metal fills the arena while the three warriors clash again and again.

Artus and Vanguard begin to tire from the added weight they carry and Taillus can hear their straining breaths as he glances blows. Taillus watches as Vanguard swings his sturdy halberd catching Artus in the steel helm after Taillus ducked. Artus stumbles to the side and falls hard, giving Taillus the opening he needed.

As the crowd reacted to the blow to the head, Taillus jams the edge of his own halberd into the soft dirt beside the fallen Artus and uses the handle of his weapon to hoist himself into the air, allowing him to strike Vanguard in the unarmored head with his foot. Blood shoots from the Redguard’s mouth as his head snaps backward. Taillus lands between both men and looks over his shoulders as they both try to get to their feet.
jack cloudy
Now this is an exciting battle. That's all I have to say at the moment.
Taillus
Well now that my dreams of playing Oblivion are crushed by my wimpy Vid card I can focus on the story that probably no one will read anymore cause everyone is having fun with the game! *I would sell my soul for a new Vid Card! * Nevertheless I have to do something to bide my time till I can make enough money at work and doing DJ gigs..... Here's the next update friends.

Taillus looks at his halberd before looking at the crowd. He decided that he would be better off to have them rooting for him to bring the other warriors' morale down. Taillus abandons his halberd and throws it behind him before releasing his mace. The crowd, already seeing the marvelous weapon in action roars in approval as it hums with enchantment.

Taillus swings the mace of Molag Bal and watches as it dents the chest piece of the struggling Artus. The crowd continues to scream as Taillus lets it crash once again into his chest piece. Artus howls in pain as Taillus places a foot on Artus' cuirass in order to pull his weapon from the metal.

Rustling coming from behind him tells Taillus that Vanguard was getting to his feet, Taillus who was beginning to feel the charge of the mace turns to face him. The redguard grins as he readies himself watching Taillus approach.

“Angry Taillus? You should be! I have been watching and studying your moves since you got here and do you want to know something else? Once I stab holes through your pathetic body, I will take your beloved mace!” Vanguard booms. Taillus grips the handle as Vanguard continues spewing taunts.

Taillus knew that Vanguard was trying to distract him and he could hear Artus getting to his feet once again. He watched Vanguard's expression as he smirked looking over Taillus' shoulder. Taillus himself grins as he realized he could see the shadow of Artus himself.

As Taillus watched Artus wind up for a swing with his claymore, Taillus rolls to the side watching the metal slam against the off-guard Redguard, knocking his halberd from his hand. Taillus retaliates by swinging his mace once again, hearing the familiar sound of metal on metal as the spiked mace crashes into Artus’ left pauldron.

Vanguard throws his shield aside, but not before removing a hidden long sword from behind it. He grins as he approaches Taillus once again. The two men exchange blows as the crowd practically goes insane at the spectacle before them. Taillus quickly looks over his shoulder as he can see Artus getting slowly to his feet once again.

Artus joins the fight after removing his heavily damaged chest piece and helm and soon all three men are engaged in a mess of swinging metal, sweat and anguish. The crowd can barely make out who is who as the three men partake in a deadly dance of steel, silver and more. The announcer steps in to try an give a play by play but to no avail. The three men were moving too quickly and the advantage was switching from fighter to fighter.

As Taillus began to feel the effects of the long fought battle, he thinks to himself as to how he could end this. He was swinging his mace trying to hold off both men but as it stood, he was either fighting both of them at once, or he was getting between them fighting with each other.

The warriors continued their deadly dance of blades as things surge forward until Taillus feels the searing pain of metal tearing his skin. He looked over his shoulder as the blade of Artus sliced through the armor on his leather curiass and left a deep gash just below his left shoulder on his back. He clenches his teeth as he fights his way from the circle but to no avail. Wherever he would try to escape, both men would follow. He had to break the chain but was greeted by another burning pain. He jumped in fear as the long blade of Vanguard sank deep into his thigh.

Taillus was beginning to lose focus and both men knew it as they started teaming up on him. When he would try to move, both men moved as well keeping Taillus flatfooted and in a dangerous situation. One desperate swing of his mace changed the tides of battle as it collides with Vanguard’s chest, giving him enough time to get out of his predicament. Taillus stumbled backwards before falling on his hindquarters as he watches Vanguard struggle to get to his feet as well.

“As long as I can keep connecting with this mace I will be ok. I need the strength it gives and god knows I need the life essence.” Taillus says to himself as he quickly gets to his feet. He is met by Artus who tries repeatedly to skewer him with his claymore. Vanguard quickly jogs over and joins once again.

“No hard feelings Taillus but we won’t let a rookie like you take the title from one of us!” Artus yells as he continues to stab at him with his blade. Taillus responds by grabbing a handful of dirt from the arena floor and tossing it into their faces giving him another chance to escape the double team tactic. Taillus decides to try out his magicka in hopes that he could injure one of the men enough to even the odds.

He struggles to remember the spell he wants but smiles slightly as a blast of white magicka explodes from his palms. The glimmering magicka spell hurtles at Vanguard, knocking him off his feet and through the air for a few feet. Artus looks over his shoulder but was interrupted by the Mace of Molag Ball crashing into his ribcage. The crowd cheers as Artus doubles over in pain and Taillus raises Molag Bal’s weapon to deliver another blow.

Blood sprays from the downed warrior as the red energy flows from the mace, charging Taillus’ body. He looks at the tip of his mace, and to the bloodthirsty crowd before raising his weapon into the air. The spectators jump from their seats and cheer wildly. Vanguard charges at Taillus fresh from the effects of the magicka spell from the hands of Taillus. He had chosen an armor eater spell that had worked its way through the chest piece and most of his greaves leaving him pretty much defenseless.

Taillus watches his steps and waits for the best moment to make his move. Vanguard lifts his own blade to strike but is too late. Taillus throws his mace into the air and whispers to himself while clutching his chest before vanishing into thin air.

The crowd gasps as Vanguard watches the mace fall to the ground. Greedily, he stoops to pick it up.

“I don’t know what happened to you Outlander but your mace is mine!” The redguard shouts as he grasps the mace and stands tall. He turns just in time to see Taillus hurling his halberd with god like strength given to him by the enchantment of the mace itself. Before Vanguard could even react, the speeding halberd rests, deeply imbedded in his bare chest. The crowd goes silent as he falls to the ground dropping the mace of Molag Bal.

Taillus slowly walks over to his downed friend and picks up his mace. He would be sure to sell off what was left of Vanguard’s equipment so that he would not feel bad but overall, he was glad to be alive. As the crowd roared in acceptance of the new Arena Champion, Taillus looks around him at the people and thrusts his mace into the air….

jack cloudy
That was epic. Truly amazing. I loved the last trick with the mace as bait. Though I would have expected Vanguard to be more on his guard. Taillus could have crept up on his back while under the invisibility spell. (He did use invisibility, right?)
Taillus
No sir, remember at the first of the battle he clutched his chest and whispered something to himself? He grabbed his other gift from Molag Bal. The amulet of Mark and Recall. He did the same just after throwing his mace and appeared back where he entered the arena, picked up his halberd that he cast aside and the rest is history tongue.gif
Taillus
Time went on and Taillus continued to overcome his opponents. He defended his title over and over again, quickly becoming more and more battle savvy with each win. He gained popularity with the crowd and managed to topple each obstacle that he was faced with. Taillus also managed to obtain a full suit of ebony armor from the bits and pieces he earned through defeating fighters…

Within only a single short year, Taillus received an award for holding the title of arena master for the longest time in history. He earned enough to customize his armor replacing the standard gold accents with a better suiting silver and also won the prize of a massive, ebony broadsword. Things were looking up for Taillus and he had just about forgotten about Molag Bal.

Taillus started off his day like many other days before. He headed through the Redoran Canton and was crossing the bridge that led to the foreign quarter to sell some of his most recent spoils when a tremendous headache swept over him.

“No, please no. Not you again! Haven’t you given up on me yet?” Taillus says aloud as he leans on the side of the walkway. The same familiar headache that usually accompanied the voice of Molag Bal was returning after staying dormant for so long. Taillus slams his fist on the side of the bridge as he continues to lean over it. An ordinator looks curiously at him as he also crosses the bridge, making sure nothing happens.

“Not now Molag, I have a fight to win in mere hours. Please find another ambassador, I have found my calling here and I do not wish to leave!” Taillus whispers as he grips his head with both hands. The pain increases as his eyes water and he grips tighter almost to the point of pulling out his hair.

“I have given you a sufficient amount of time to teach yourself the art of battle. Now it is time for you to fully surrender yourself to me. I want you to travel to the town of Suran and seek out my Shrine. You will summon me there on the twentieth of Evening Star. I will show myself to the Mortal plane and I will direct you to the object you need to begin my enslavement of the people of Morrowind.” Molag Bal booms.

Taillus continues to grip his head with both hands as Molag Bal instructs further. The Ordinator continues to watch as Taillus leans over the guard rail of the bridge in pain. Taillus is stunned by the fact that the Daedric prince has called for him once again and the pain in his head was quickly driving him into a frenzied state.

“Listen here you coward! It is easy for you to bark orders from another plane of existence but remember that I can send back any of your messengers. I refuse to do your bidding and I refuse to leave the city of Vivec.” Taillus breathes as his forehead throbs. Taillus leaves the comfort of the guard rail as he stumbles into the Foreign Quarter, the Ordinator following close by.

“If you do not listen to me Taillus I will make sure that your last few days among the living will be filled with nothing but pain and suffering. I will make your head pound until you end your own life, then I will torture you here in Oblivion. Now either you do as I ask, or I unleash a wave of Daedroths to feast upon your flesh.” Molag Bal booms.

Taillus looks down as his shirt begins to feel wet. The pain of his scar emerges as blood drips from the tear he received from the Daedroth in Balmora. He gasps in horror as he stumbles through the crowds. His head pounds harder and harder as he clenches his teeth and hits his own head with his fists.

His surroundings begin to blur and spin as Taillus quivers in pain. He falls to his knees as people only step around him to get where they are going. The Ordinator watches closely, hoping to receive back up to remove Taillus from Vivec.

“Get out of my head! I will not help you! Do you hear me!! I will not help you!!” Taillus screams as the pounding in his head only increases. Taillus coughs loudly, becoming hoarse from yelling but still no one comes to his aid.

“These people do not care for you Taillus, they only have themselves in mind. No one has even checked on you. They could not be bothered and they simply walk over you. Do these people deserve to live? These inconsiderate flesh beings are only good for one thing, to fuel us and help us increase in power. Start our reign of terror and the pain stops.” Molag Booms from within Taillus’ head.

“I...I can’t! I wont! I…” Taillus is interrupted by more pain still as it doubles in intensity. Taillus writhes on the floor as people still choose to avoid him and walk around him as he continues to lie before the merchants of the Foreign Quarter.

“Get up Outlander. You are scaring the commoners and you must leave. This is an order! Get up you crazed madman and leave now!” the Ordinator shouts at the downed Taillus. Taillus slowly and painfully struggles to his feet with no help from anyone and stands before the Ordinator.

Taillus’ hands shake in agony as he stares into the golden mask of the Ordinator. He can see his own reflection in the mask, barely able to recognize it. His eyes were bloodshot and red, his face was pale and sickly looking and dark bags underlined his eyes.

“I order you to leave here at once. Take the nearest boat out of here and never return. I will only say it once.” The Ordinator says as he begins to draw his sword. Taillus smirks as he grabs the hilt of his broadsword that was strapped to his back. Before anyone could realize what had happened, Taillus had removed his blade, sliced it diagonally before the Ordinator and turned around.

As Taillus walked towards the exit of the Foreign Quarter, The Ordinator falls into two bloodied pieces. The merchants and commoners that were once almost ignoring the events taking place were now screaming in horror. Taillus breathes heavily as the pain begins to lessen dramatically as he slides his ebony broadsword back into its haven.

“Tell the dunmer that operates the small boat a short distance away to take you to Suran. If he claims that he does not go there on his usual route, threaten him until it is his usual route. Discover where my shrine is and I will tell you my wishes. It will not be long my son until you have more power then any other living being in Morrowind.” Molag Bal whispers as Taillus heads out of Vivec.

And that marks the end of Chapter 6... Sadly only three more chapters to go at the most. The story is almost done but this paves the way for Xander in Taillus' body in Oblivion. Thanks for all of the pointers, praise and fun!

That was a great chapter Taillus, the character is corrupted and becomes even more powerful with each kill, there has been a complete transformation from the calm character that arrived on morrowind to a more powerful and evil character(though it was not by choice).

The internal comflicts the character experiences are very well done and it is sad to see the journey of Taillus reaching its end, though I will look forward to the continued part about Xander.

Well, keep up the good work Taillus.

Ouch, slicing that Ordinator in two before he can respond? That is lethal. Only three chapters to go? I'll miss Taillus, no matter how evil he is.

Maybe you should ask the people in charge if they want to put your story up on the main site in the fan fiction area.

I think that its probably worthy of being on the front page, as it is one of the best written and interesting fan fictions out there.

I've done some hard work to read what you have done so far Taillus, and I must say, you are a very talented writer. I can't wait to see how Taillus's story unfolds. And you also have great talent portraying battle scenes. Keep up the excelent work my man, and good luck in the fight with Arthago.
