hello i have ideas for mods for oblivion but they dont seem popular so i was wondering how hard it will be to make the mod myself.
i do computing at uni so i know my way round a comp but i have little programming experience.
what do i need to learn to make a mod?
if any1 knows of anything that can help please post it here thanks.

If you ever played morrowind the best modders were people who tinkered with the construction set all day long. Oblivion's construction set will be like morrowind's only even easier to use. I have no programming experience at all but by the end of playing with morrowind for six month and occasionally tinkering with the CS I managed to shovel out a pillow fort, and by a year of playing I managed to make a maze with cool little traps and stuff.

Well they're going to end up being practically the same, but there are definitely some tutorials on the net. If you want to learn how to use the morrowind construction set just consult with them. Search TESCS tutorial

The morrowind CS was THE easiest edited tool for any game i have played so far. It looks complicated, but once you get the hang of it it's very easy to use (except that damn blasted dialouge!). And, by the way, I was one of those people who tinkered with it all day long wink.gif

and i had a really good idea for a pit trap but now oblivion is nearly out i cant bear to play morrowind. laugh.gif
