Full Version: Unused or Underused skills

I was watching the Gameplay Footage collage that was released by IGN recently. There were several scenes being played by a character using a blade and Conjuration. I was thinking that Conjuration will be more fun this time around (due to not needing to drop your weapon to cast a spell), when I realized I never played a character with Conjuration as a major skill in Morrowind anyway. One mage character had it as a minor but never ended up using it.

Then I started thinking about the other skills that I rarely or never used in Morrowind, and realized they could actually make a fun character.

Conjuration, Marksman, Hand-to-hand, Mercantile, and Speechcraft. Add in Light Armor and Alchemy and I've got a travelling merchant that does his own hunting and gathering, summoning aid when needed. Actually sounds like fun, given how combat-centric my planned characters' major skills are.

So, figure out what skills were un- or under-used for you, and think about whether or not you could make a fun character with them.

Then share. smile.gif

I didn't really use mysticism or illusion. I also never really used blunt or spear skills.

I found actually hand to hand, mysticism and alchemy to be three skills in morrowind I rarely used, just by thinking about it. My latest character will be versed in alchemy and mysticism because that's how I want toi play it out. With the new technology in for telekinesis I can't wait.

I am not sure if I should respond to this, after all, most of my characters are almost exactly the same...

Oh well, I never really used any magic except for Mysticisim (mark and recall is great!)and Alteration on occasions, Hand-to-Hand, Blunt, Spear, Axe, or Heavy Armor. But I really am looking forward to making a pure mage in Oblivion.

P.S. Doomed One, I think he meant for Morrowind.

You can enchant your own stuff as a perk for gaining ranks in Mages Guild. Whether this is added as a skill or you can use a "workbench" or something... We'll have to see.
