well in THIS interview pete gets asked about the unicorn & he confirms that, yes, there is only one unicorn in the game but thats the only thing he reveals about it. the interviewer asks if it is mountable but pete dodges that and other possibly revealing questions about the unicorn. just post any intriguing questions that you may have about the unicorn and (hopefully) people will provide you with their opinions. my question is if we can mount it. I really hope we can mount it and charge monsters & NPC's down with it!

It's possible you could mount it, but I highly doubt you'll be able to charge down enemies with the fact that no mounted combat is implemented, no matter how hard we try to imagine it is..

On a sidenote, now that there is only two weeks for the actual release, can't people just wait and actually see for themselves when the game comes out? It's not that we have to stay ignorant of the "big questions" of oblivion for too long.

I doubt that aswell. Since you don't have to eat yourself, it would be odd if they made your hourses dependant on food. Besides this game is not Harvest moon although that would be a cool mod!

Well, are you going to have to tame the unicorn in order to ride it? Or, will you have to paralyze it with a spell? Maybe only virgin femal characters can ride it.....

Hehe, If it's rideable It's probably going to be for any character . However, now that you mention it, I bet it's part of a quest, like "Only the one carrying the... ehm.. magic carrot?.. will be able to ride the magical beast.". If there is no such quests then it's probably not rideable, I don't think it'll just be waiting there for you to find it and hop on to its back.

Bofra, I like that. You got a legit LOL from me. Well, really it was a Chuckle Out Loud. But, I think you might be on to something with "The Magic Carrot". If it's rideable, I agree, a quest would be in order. Or, it might a creature whose AI tells it to stay just on the horizon of the PC and to taunt the PC until they are so frustrated they start killing NPC's relentlessly. Ok, maybe not, but I'd also be surprised if you could just walk up and hop on.

But arent unicorns usually described as sort of fragile creatures, not as massive and muscular war steeds that you just smash on some armor and charge into battle? If the unicorn is indeed ridable, i sure as hell hope that the "Horsie armor" mod will come up with something cool for it too. Atleast i don't wanna go ridin' with a himble horse to a battle, i'd rather go with a proper horse.

That's much true Waker, I would rather have the unicorn as my "secret pet" I go to in the eavnings and just talks to it than as my warhorse. Pretty much like Hagrid (in Harry Potter) and his "odd" pets.

now that you say that, it seems obvious. i wouldn't really want to do battle with the unicorn, just travel around the contryside with it.

I'm gonna try and sell it, skin it, or maybe if it has a quest related to it, I'd do that... I don't think a Unicorn suits any of my characters.
I don't even think I'll use horses or fast travel. I will never get bored of the view, and battling things along the way will be fun... Just like cliffracers on Morrowind (sarcasm).

I'm definetly gonna use horses, but i'll just get the unicorn for fun. I'll lock it up to a chest in my house deep in a dark cave and pat my hands together and hiss: "My presious horsey.....Precious.... mmm..."
