i am really confused about major and minor skills.
some people say that you have 7 major skills and the rest minor.
and some people say you have 7 major and that's it no minor skills.
so what is true?

7 major, 14 misc skills.
The major skills determine character level progress, the 14 misc obviously don't.

I don't know whether this is a better system or a more inconvieniant one that Morrowind...
I liked having 10 skills that actually have a function, but now it's more balanced and advanced, thought you get to pick less skills...
But I like the fact that now every skill is just as important, even those in Misc.
In Morrowind you focused on Majors, then Minors, with little motivation to work on Misc. skills, but now you have the motivation, as there's bound to be a few handy skills you couldn't squeeze into your Majors.
Umm... ignore me.

yea minor don't exsist anymore...they will be lightly missed....miscilaneous skills will be really important to me b/c I will want all the bonuses from having master level skills...like max zooming with a bow....even if I rarly use a bow....I still like to snipe when I do use one.

I like that sig rane.

so there wont be any minor skills. Thats gonna mess up my tactics a little for choosing a guy. If i got a magic guy like a breton i would put his best skills minor and other stuff major. Does anyone know what a skill is gonna start at if their are no bonuses in misc.

So only your major skills will count for advancement, correct?

well, while rane may have said that I would have cited that a dev said it instead...which they have said it too..
I think this topic is kinda getting old, if you read all the posts above there really isn't anything left that would be wanted to know about major skills that anyone could answer.....and we are going to know first hand all about it in about 14-25 days...depending on location and shipping times.
