What do you think?

Depends on if they screw the pooch on the 360 version of Battlefield 2 like they did with the original Xbox version. If they make it a good port... then, to my everlasting sadness, no, it won't. Other than that, nothing comes close. And Oblivion will still be better. Just not first.

from what i've played on the 360...(Madden/NBALive '06, Project Gotham Racing, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, and Gun) I'd have to say yes. However, we can't rate a game that isn't out yet. So far on my 360, I've played a lot more joust than anything else. It's simple, Joust > Pretty Graphics.

Call of Duty 2 and Kong are pretty cool, but I think Oblivion will blow them away, and probably anything out this year will collapse underneath it.

I'll use NBA Live 06 as an example.

Graphics, are very good there, detailed courts, players, and crowd. It may be one of the most visually impressive titles, along with Kong for the 360.

Gameplay, is terrible. Unresponsive controls, horrible framerates and stutter. Terrible free throw implementation, lack of any features that prolong gameplay, and let's not get into the actual fundamentals of the game. Every game on Live turns into a dunk fest. Not to mention every NBA player for somereason seems to look like a "zombie". If you can provide an example of Graphics over Gameplay, please do, will read it intently smile.gif

I just did, nearly every game that is 3D is better than Joust just for the reason that its graphics are cro magnon. So wat if that B-ball game has terrible controls and framerates, at least it has a frame rate tongue.gif

I know this is a touchy subject...

But yes, I think that Oblivion will be the killer title for 360, only IF it is capable of being released before the widely anticipated Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey from Hironobu Sakaguchi (father of Final Fantasy) gets translated. The other niche rpg from the East that just got released, no news of a translation so far is From Softwares eM [eNCHANT arM]. From Software's works on Xbox previously is the under-appreciated Otogi: Myth of Demons and Otogi 2.

If Oblivion has a period of monopoly on 360's very dry rpg market, its sales will do well. However, if it has competiton, it goes without saying part of their profit margin will take a hit.

I went "no" because I really enjoyed CoD2. It was excellent. Oblivion will be alot better, but CoD2 made "killer" on my scale. wink.gif

Application.

Call of Duty 2 is what I got with my 360, mostly becuase it seemed like the least crappy thing out. I will say, it far exceeded my expectations... but I doubt I'll still be playing it in 3 months. I bought my original Xbox specifically for Morrowind, and I bought my 360 specifically for Oblivion. I have put more hours of my life into Morrowind than any other video game in my life, and I've been playing video games since I was 5 years old. And even with all that, I will admit that Morrowind's actual gameplay was... pretty crappy and kind of boring. But then, Elder Scrolls' core gameplay was never fantastic, and I've been playing since Arena. Oblivion has fixed just about every single complaint I have, judging from all the information that has been released. The only reason I say Battlefield 2 will beat it in this category is becasue of the 'first'. It looks like Battlefield will come out first, but probably only by a matter of weeks. Also, with as crappy as the previous-gen console ports were, it could still go horribly wrong. Further, this would fall into another divide - with and without Live. Battlefield is onyl a Killer App if you have Live. Oblivion does not have that dependancy. And finally, though I consider them both Killer Apps, I would give up Battlefield 2 in a heartbeat for Oblivion, and I have no doubt I'll be playing Oblivion much more. The owrding of this poll is my only reason Battlefield gets my vote. Minus the release date, Oblivion gets my vote in every way.

I voted yes, but to be honest I don't knkow alot of the other games on 360 so far, but I can tell you kameo, and all the others I have read about in egm and gamepro dont hit my radar compared to OB
Mercury Knight
Well there aren't alot of 360 games at all. If you don't like racing and sports, you're pretty much boned. Like I siad, I picked up CoD2 simply because it looked the least crappy of the lot. Battlefield and Oblivion are the only tings I am determined to buy, and neither are out yet. I'll just rent through GameFly till then.

Call of Duty 2 was amazing...
Kong lost it's edge towards the end...
Perfect Dark Zero was a disappointment, unless you only go on mulitplayer...
Condemned left stains in my underwear...
I have played games such as Madden, PGR3, DOA4, and none have anything I look for in a game.
Oblivion will be played for at least 3 years non-stop, no doubt, and yes it will push everything back into the shadows in my world.
