I am looking to see if peeps would be interested in seeing a world off of the OB map entirely but maybe through a special door in a location that takes you to an autonomous area with a game independant of OB and half as big...mind you I am intending at persent to work on this title alone...without adding much in the way of art b/c I have vary little drawing/painting/visual skill.
There will be 5 villages with varstly different terrain, weather, if I can control it..., abillities, and each of these villages would be akin to the houses of MW, once you joined one you would be peged as a member of an unfriendly faction by members of other villages.
I will be changing magics, adding dozens of quests, a hundred or so NPC's, maybe two hundred, the area will be like, assuming OB is 4x4 miles, about 3x3 miles so it will be massive but not empty. There will be people out in the woods and spy's moving about, and merchants, trainers, special equiptment.
Essentially it will be the full bit.
A couple things to think about before getting your hopes too high
-I am only one person, and I have college classes to go to
-I might help a couple other peeps out first that I have already offered help to in exchange for some assistance with the CS.
-I wont post this to the community if it doesn't get encouragement, even when I do get it done, which will happen no matter what happens
-I prolly won't post it until it is totally ready and done, just like bethsoft...:S
-I will not be able to upgrade my computer to even start the process until about April, until which time I can't even play the game, even though I have a pre-order on the game even now.....fate is indeed cruel....
-Yes, I know the insane level of time this will take one person.... that is the kind of person I am, I only do things that when finished are truly notworthy.
The overall theme is that of a ninja background with head leaders in each village that are equvalently like a level 90 or similar in the other games. They lead their village and teach those underneath them special magics that are village-specific, that you can't get any other way. (it would take 5 characters to find them all)
Trust me this a project I started in a LARP format and I already have a few dozen pages of lore done, that isn't even counting the maps I have made and the sperate character stat system that was in place.... well let me know what you think...

Sounds cool. I have something similar going, The Kingdom by name...
The Kingdom WikiIf your looking for somewhere to house your info but not much of a HTML programmer, I recommend PBWiki, its really easy to use and makes storing all your info easy as...
But yeah, good luck.
(PS, if your interested in my mod, send me an email

if after 3 weeks only one person like this enough to say anything I won't be making it public. AP if you want it just lemme know later on once we are working on kingdom together and I will e-mail it to you or somthin' so you can check it out.
I am effectivly closing down this idea, but if people start asking me to think about still doing it, I will think about it......so moderators feel free to close this halfway through march if no one has posted for two weeks

don't be too disheartened... When I started The Kingdom, I have no-one really posting about it... It happens... What I did was keep providing information to prove that I had stuff to back it up the idea... shows you actually have more than just the idea, you have a "vision"

well I don't post plans since this is an independant project that I am doing solo, but maybe I will post the map later on..... I will post stuff I have done as I get it done, which can't happen until OB comes out and my computer can run it...

Sounds interesting. Kinda like feudal Japan right? With everyone segregated in their own village, living a solitary life.

somewhat...but it is also kinda not....and that is defintly not my direct intension...I don't like to impose history on my fantasy too much, but I agree that there are similarities. Just to prevent confusion, they know about each other but are politically independant like in old japan. They compete for jobs and good potential ninjas. there is a good chance there could be quests where you will really feel the impact of these. Again, with there being five villages that you can only be a member of one at a time, so you may go through a quest more than once if you play all five villages, but each time it will be presented differently and you won't feel like you are doing the same thing even if you are doing the same quest.

don't give up on things to soon, people tend to wait till further info is given. Plus it is my experience that the tes community is roughly build from two different kinds of people: 10% of them is actually contributing to the community with mods, new content etc but these people are most of time ignored by the 90 other %, in which some of them are interested but alot of these people never read or comment on your mod and when it's finally done, they are the ones to critize your work and yet they know sh*t about making one.
I think you get my point, just keep hanging there and people will come, the right people will come, the others will whine later one ;-)

I think I brought this up in the closed/locked kingdom but I figured out how to controll the skills/magic/entry to mods. I want to keep magic from outside my mod out and the magic from inside my mod in. I figured out how to do it regardless of whether you are supposed to be able to do it or not.....ok here is my thought
1- Make mod
2- Play mod yourself with the character(s) that you want to be the starting character(s)
3- Hide the way in/out from/to the "outside" world (aka OB maingame) so that it is almost impossible to get a character in a new area.
4- Move to the "starting location" and save game, make sure it isn't right beside the entry into the original game area, that way people can't find the spot without a WHOLE lot of effort
5- provide mod with saved game(s) that you saved so that the player has to play one of the characters that you have approved.
6- listen to character requests from people and be willing to e-mail a save file with a character that looks JUST RIGHT for a person (optional)
I think this would work really well...but there are ways that devs could make it not work....just have to see...I can think of about eight ways to foil this idea actually....but I doubt any of it will be implemented.

And some of us are just now getting around and looking at what is going on in the planning of Oblivion mods. Don't give up yet, just let it ride for awhile.

I would be most interested in acquiring a totaly new world. That sounds like a really well thought out Mod.
Please keep the community informed of your progress.

I have alot of lure and map done, need to get a computer that can run the game and construction set, looks like a month before I can afford it though. I don't know how much of my hajima story you guys have read but it is going to be a series of in-game books that show up in the quests if you look hard enough, so that is a first taste of what I am adding to the game. I haven't figured out how I am going to show the map on here yet......not really good with much graphic stuff like paint, that is going to be a challenge of mine through this process. That and having money for a computer in the first place.....damn my poorness.

I know that it's been a long time and that I still can't get a computer that can run the game or run the construction set for another three months but I just thought I would let the whole....three people?..... group has heard about this mod plan and might be looking forward to it....that I have reviewed Bethsoft's mod policy in regards to ownership of intellictual properties and in good consciance I cannot make the mod based off the game I have been developing for over two years that I one day intend to make into a game that I will independantly market or get some kind of backup by a larger group, that will probably not be bethsoft because they like too have full artistic controll over their projects from what I understand.
In other words, I intend to give you a different world than originally planned and I now have no work done at all and I am now going to school around a hundred hours a week and have no time for another two months to get any intellectual material started, but I will let you know what I plan to do as soon as I am able to get started
When I am getting started I will open a new thread that is dedicated to the making of that mod and ask for this thread to be closed as it is in regards to something that will never be made but for now I want this thread to be open for use of replying back to this announcement as well as for any suggestions that you, the audience, clients, users, community, and idea machines. just keep in mind this is going to continue to be an entirely new world, based off the cs stuff that is allready there.
well I will prolly check back in a couple weeks and I hope that something has been posted that sparks interest for me.
