Hra Krak One-tusk the Orc pirate
A story told by the travelling bard Gangaranoth;

Ulnwai the lost child of prophecy...... Part one.

"Ulnwai is quite possibly one of the strangest creatures I have ever had the privalige to meet, and survive the encounter. I have followed her exploits throughout the lands of Morrowind, and I must admit, I had become a little obsessed with this tiny bosner, for that was the race she was born into. Through my connections within the Empire and its military, I found the beginnings of the history of Ulnwai.
It would appear from the reports made at the time, that she was discovered by a legion patrol routing out a rebel Orc fortress in the swamps of the southern colonies. After killing or capturing the adult Orcs of this enclave the patrol began the grizzly task of searching the encampment, many atrocities were discovered, which I shall avoid comment upon here, as it is Ulnwai that I wish to speak of.
She was discovered in what is commonly understood as an ´Orc-pit` and is generally used to rear young orcs into adulthood, often food is thrown into these ´pits` live, and it would appear Ulnwai was not the first to have suffered this fate. Amazingly she seemed to have survived for quite some time, and even the captured Orcs had made comment of it, telling of their surprise that she had “learnt to fight before she could talk” and other such compliments that are not common coming from the barbaric race known as “the green-skins”.
The Patrols captain took great pity upon Ulnwai, and brought her to the garrison priests. Unfortunately no-one could have known in what state the poor Ulnwais mind was in, obviously the child was a savage, and the priests, after only two days asked that she be emplaced within the confines of a cell, for her own safety, until the matter of what to do with such an animal like creature could be decided. Fortune shone upon the girl bosner, for a traveling healer heard the story of this beast-child, and took it upon himself to see Ulnwai himself.
Gabdaf the Hand was his name, and thanks to his diaries, I have discovered some insight into the strange behaviours of this unlikely saviour of Vvardenfell. Gabdaf describes Ulnwai as a female bosner, in good health as it had been two weeks after her being discovered, and only minor flesh wounds to her legs and arms, which healing from Gabdaf ensured that no scars would be shown in later life, which I can attest to today, for her skin is like that of silken honey, and any wounds that I saw upon her in these last months, she did treat herself with both skill and great care.
Ulnwai had escaped the cells only twice before the coming of gabdaf the hand, and each time she seemed only aware of the captains attentions when re-discovered, after the first escape, several guards were treated for bite wounds that would rival the attack from a nix-hound, according to witnesses of the time, it was the captain who had managed to discover a fascination for shiny coins of the septim empire (for the local currency was bronze) and it was with one of these coins in the captains hand that Ulnwai was always drawn back to her cell.
It was in this way that Gabdaf and the captain,taught Ulnwai the ways of decency and civility, and of the healers arts, and of the imperial martial art of combat, though she never managed to become a scholar of the written word, she did manage the fundamentals of reading and speaking, on that subject, it is written and can be verified by my good self, that Ulnwais unique way of speech, has always left people with their hearts raised and there thoughts a little lighter for in all her communication she would giggle like an innocent, but mischevious child. And of her talking there can be no doubt, that great harm was done to her by those savage Orcs. For her obsession for, as she has always said, “Shinies” is still with her today, and through her repeating of such words, even today, it brings great tears and sorrow for what she has had to endure.
In the years that followed her escape attempts became less oft, and slowly the fears of the legion officials were abated, Gabdaf had made himself a small residence, a hut of humble means, to which the little bosner stayed thereafter."

To be continued…….

Attempt at serious story, your comments, as always, warmly recieved...

Very interesting beginning of the story. I love the story being told from the bard's point of view.

Thank you, Im experimenting with it on the mw forum, Ill be adding a little more scenery, and the listeners will be asking questions that have been posted on the thread there. If you wish, people here could do the same, and I can work them into the next part....all I need is a little character detail, race, name, attire, and of course, a question to put across the camp fire.....
