Hi Everyone... Big discussion on the official forums for those that dont frequent there. Bunch of new screens from a russian preview site.

I hope its ok to just include the link to the forums there... that way if they get pulled by the mods there I know they werent legit and the links here will die at the same time. Pretty confident on this set though since they are on their third full thread.

Edit : I removed the link since one of the mods on The official site did come out and say these were illegal... Sorry... I was surprised they took so long to come out with that statement. The thread on the official forums is still there, not sure when or if they will remove it.

Nice!

However, I suspect that (at least some of) those shots are from a build of the game from around E3, and so things will have changed since then.

Why do I think that they're E3 vintage? The quest part of the interface in [link removed], [link removed] and [link removed] have only four tabs, as seen in the 20 minutes of gameplay taken from the E3 demo. The same part of the interface shown in the X05 videos we've seen have five tabs in that section of the interface (briefly, a few seconds before the end of the video Character Creation 2 - healing spell and using interface (8.4MB))

Still, always nice to see new screenshots, even if they're from an old build smile.gif

You do know there is an edit function right dry.gif that you can use to add more information to a post instead of spamming it like crazy.

Anyways the screenshots were good for the most part, i didn't like the one with the portraits on the wall, since the pictures aren't painted but are those prelim screenshots,

I seriously have problems with the argonian picture.
It doesn't look finished or even authentic.
I wonder if any of these pics are fake?

QUOTE(kathode)
In the past couple days, an unfinished build of Oblivion was leaked to a Russian gaming site. You may have seen screenshots and information about this build online. The site in question was not authorized in any way to post the information that it did. The build in question was not in any way intended to be used for the purposes of demoing the game.

The screenshots that got posted clearly show that the game was not properly configured by whoever was playing. The ini file alone contains over 300 settings that can be used to customize the visuals and performance of the game, and we tweak and test and change these settings daily. Because the build they are using was not one that we locked away for the specific purposes of demonstration, the likelyhood that any number of those options are incorrectly configured is very high. This can result in any manner of aberrant behavior from the game including improper visuals and reduced performance.

The upshot is that we feel the quality of the screenshots released is very far from the final game. This combined with the fact that the they are completely unauthorized by anyone representing Bethesda to publish screenshots or info means that we have to shut down threads relating to this leak.

Hopefully soon, as we get closer to release, you will see legit sites posting previews based on actual preview builds of the final game.
