My latest character in MW is a pure mage with Mysticism and Conjuration as main stays. My first line of defense is conjuring to keep the baddies at a distance, and when they break through, I absorb health. The only draw back is even though I see a baddie, or creature (a blighted black shalk is brutal to my low health point mage), my conjured creatures will not touch them until I actually am attacked. I'd like to see in OB a "sic 'em" command, like "there they are, go get 'em"!

Well with RAI, I would hope that summons are smarter. the morrowind ones were pretty daft IMO. I place my trust that bethesda will improve the system. I can see where your complaints are coming from, as summons were always a pain in the bunghole.

I see, I would love for that to be changed, I hated that too....

i would like the actual summoning to be a little more epic than it just coming out of thin air also. i know it is magic, but still....

magic has been revamped and conjuration is magic.

Yes but conjuration has not been specifically discussed yet.
You see the woman taking the potion in the demo, and she lit up and then this stuff swirled around her. Summoning I hope looks like particles fly from the air and condense in one spot where the creature appears (not real particles, just an animation).
As far as commands, that's definitely something I'd like to see.

don't forget that conjuration also includes reanimation, I am wondering if the RAI stays the same for the person or if they get blank-slated to do your bidding. If their original RAI stays in place they might get up and kill you because of their low disposition toward you....maybe it would vary by the amount you had in conjuation....like if your conjuration is low you are likely to resurrect the person and they still be pissed at you, I would assume that with the RAI that the minions of a conjurer could sense characters that are considered to be in combat with the controller....I say it this way because I don't want you to forget that NME's (enemies) can cast the same spells as you.....but I will be very pleasantly surprised if you could sneak attack a person with a minion, it's more likely that you would have to attack the person with an arrow or otherwise be noticed and targeted before the minions will "go forth and attack the foes who afflict me" I also would guess that the NME's will know to keep attacking the controller if that is more advantagous in battle from their point of view......but it is remotely possible that I am overestimating the new AI system. Ultimately I will be surprised if you can acctually "sic 'em dremora fido."
P.s. this was my first post and I have been looking up oblivion info for about two weeks about 6 hours minimum a day...and that is because I go to college for 8 hours a day..... Happy Huntings....er conjurings....(lol)(heh heh)

i never was much of a conjurer. or a mage for that matter. but i do have to admit that it could use some new looks. like the rest of the magic.

I hated the summoning system in morrowind. You could only summon one creature at a time, the creatures could only remain summoned for a short time and they were stupid.

i know, guy, they pretty much were dumber than the rock-headed NPC's who enjoyed getting stuck behind a flipping boulder!

Well, I wasnt much of a summoner...I just used them so I could soul trap and enchant stuff. But they were pretty stupid...
