Rann and Syke Viann, Research Space Station, in orbit around Mars

Rann stood by his workbench, creating some unkown object that might make it to the coveted spot in his 'used' pile, meaning that someday, he just may find a use for the invention. But more than likely, this, as over half of his other creations, will go into the scrap pile to be made into something else.

"What are you doing?" Syke asked Rann, coming to a halt beside his younger brother. He picked up a black metal object and inspected it. "What is this?"

Rann slapped his broter's hand without looking up from his work. "No touching!" he scolded, accepting the object back from Syke and putting it back down; still not looking up.

"What are you making?" Syke asked again, more insistently.

"Nothing." Rann answered as he put on a proctective mask, not to protect his eyes, because they couldn't be hurt, but just his face in general. He began welding two pieces of the black metal together, drowning out any conversation for the next minute or two.

Syke was getting extremely frustrated with his brother. "What are you making?" he asked through gritted teeth.

"It's for the ship." he answered, holding up the finished product. It was black and sleek, obviously to match the metal interior of the engine room of their ship.

"What does it do?" he asked. The object had a series of pipes protruding from a box, which had a pump inside. He scratched his head, utterly confused.

"Look." Rann said, pointing to the pipe on the top. "Here is where our engine coolant is going to go; because it leaks anyway. Anyways, it goes down through this box, where it's pumped back out into the main hold where it belongs."

"Why didn't you just patch the leak?"

Rann blinked a few times; Syke couldn't tell if he was turning on the record option or the zoom. "Because that isn't as fun, and it wouldn't allow us to do this." he replied, pointing to a smaller pipe that Syke hadn't noticed before. He turned a valve on the end and smiled. "It will also make the coolant drinkable; I put in a series of filters and lined the inside with some toxin-neutralizing chemicals."

"That's useless." Syke said with a scowl.

"We'll see how useless it is when we get stuck in space with no water." Rann answered as he pushed by his brother with the invention in hand; all that was left was installation.

Syke sighed and followed.

When the installation was complete, and Rann had a sip of coolant, they went into the Research Area to look for their sister.

Mark Ringwalt -- HDF Space Station V-6905 "Triumph"; Somewhere between The Milky Way and The Rykar Empire Galaxy

Mark stepped out of his quarters after changing into his flight suit and into a "Living Space", or a room with a Television and several bunk rooms connected. A few men and women were scattered about the room watching the TV, chatting, sleeping. The tension was high on Space Station Triumph. The people stationed there were constantly getting shipped to and from battle.

The 501st was stationed at Triumph, or atleast most of them. The human's forces had been in disarray lately and not all of the squads were in one place. There were a few familiar faces on Triumph though, but Mark only really knew a few of them.

Mark made his way to Hanger 6-C; where his ship was kept. It stood by itself in all its beuty and grandeur, atleast to him. He climbed into the cockpit of the F-96, put on his helmet and closed the canopy.

After recieving permission for takeoff, Mark delicately piloted his ship into the airlock and waited for it to be released. The large bay door opened as did the throttle of the ship...

Juac Anderson
Bridge of the DragonBeak, Dry Docked at HDF Space Station V-6905 "Triumph"

Space. Open, abound with much. Yet so little at the same time. Stars fluttered to and fro, but very little other then their gigantic bodies fill the eternal void. It was something to despair for most, however Juac thought nothing of it as he peered out into the emptyness.

The deck was fairly empty, save for the few technicians and late workers. Most had returned to their bunks to sleep, as if they needed it for the uneventful day that was to come. It had been four months to the very day when the last contact in this region was made with the Rykar, and for many it was a blessing, to others, like Juac, it was simply uneventful.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" A voice sounded behind Anderson, "Space that is." The voice took the form of Master Seargent Caroline Butrea, lead corpman on deck.

Juac kept to himself yet nodded. He peered at the vessel approaching the DragonBeak, a mechanics platform he would of imagined.

Slightly agitated the Master Seargent spoke, "Well, theirs my ride.. See you around Lt." She didn't salute, but that didn't bother Juac, in fact it never bothered him. It just bothered his stiff necked drill seargent from boot camp, but for all he knew that stuck up bastarde was dead.

Juac sighed, and turned around, the emptyness of space would have to be thought about later. He had a breefing in several minutes anyways. With that he left the command deck.

V'Rinji Gorac - Blood Homebase

"The usual.", V'Rinji said as he walked into the bar. It was as rather large room, with larger sitting places by the walls, and smaller tables spread out around. Everything was mostly metal alloy of some sort, except for the chairs and sofas. V'Rinji sat down by the bar counter and took his drink. He sipped on it a little bit, before putting it down in the table, and having a quick look around. "Nothing unusual.", he thought to himself.

V'Rinji had just been on a training mission. "Gotta keep everyone ready to fight, 'cause you never know..", his superiors always told him. As always, his squad got through it all without any problems whatsoever.

"Thanks for the drink, old man.", V'Rinji said as he stood up, and walked silently out of the bar. He shot a glance down at his left arm. Shiny, cold rithium covered alloy. He could still remember that day. The pain, the anger, suffering, and the feeling of gratitude the moment his squadmates came in the door, their guns firing, battle screams roaring... V'Rinji came back to reality as he approached the Briefing Room. He entered, to find his squad and one of his superiors sitting there, waiting for him. The Briefing room was a small, circular room, with a holo-projector in the middle. chairs were placed around the projector upon large "steps", making sure everyone was able to see the projector.

"You're late, Captain.", the Rykian officer said. "Take a seat." V'Rinji gave a quick nod to his squad, before taking a seat in the front row. "Good, now that were all here, I would like to give you your next assignment.", the officer said. He pressed a few buttons on the holo-projectors controls, and it flickered to life, showing a map over Rykar space.

"Our patrols have detected unusual increase of Rykar freighter traffic lately. We see this as our chance to seize one or more of these freighters, for much needed supplies. Patrols indicate that the freighters are moving mostly between Ryk and minor space stations throughout the sector. We have isolated a small convoy heading our way. It consists of 1 large Rykar transport, and 4 escort fighter craft. Your role in this, will be to deploy on the freighter, and clear out any enemy resistance. The freighter is armed with several anti-fighter guns, so be sure to take them out fast, and if you manage, use them to our advantage. We will send 3 fighters to escort the troop carrier, and fight the enemy fighters. We need these supplies, so make sure the transport is intact when you return.", the officer explained.

After that, he went through the strategy plan of the mission, which included being sent out from an airlock, and entering the transport by cutting a hole, proceeding to the bridge, and seizing control of the ship, and using the guns to help fight the other fighters. The officer then said a quick good luck, and V'Rinji and his squad left the Briefing Room, to head down to the equipment facility.

Arthur, On the wasteland Earth

Bending low over his work, his hair slightly obstructing his view, he connected the pieces and stood back with a sigh of relief.

Gazing upon his finished project with pride, he grinned. She was beautiful, yes she was.

Putting together his own cruiser hadn't been easy, but it had been worth it. The shiny outer armor sparkled in the hazardous rays of the sun.

He remembered the old tales, the ones that had passed down the generations. Earth had been a wonderful place, but the corruption of people, and the greed for little pieces of paper had caused industry to expand. Dumping pollutants at an exhilarating rate. Along with the birds and the bees, the Ozone layer had passed.

A call brought him back to the present.

"Arthur, sir. We have an approaching convoy."

Arthur spun around just in time to see a Private salute, and he took the time to return the salute.

"A convoy? I don't believe any diplomatic meetings have been scheduled for today. Try to attempt a communications link, and tell it to halt it's progress."

The soldier frowned, but contained his posture.

"We have already tried sir. They are attempting to block any atempt at communication. My guess is they are pirates."

Now Arthur frowned, Pirates were quite the nuisance.

"Are they attempting a landing here."

"Yes sir, I do believe so."

Arthur drew his Desert Eagle and took off down the sealed hallway of the F.F.A. base.

Coming to a halt at the docking bay, he could see the Pirate ship looming overhead as he took a defensive position behind a crate. Other soldiers had followed him out and were waiting for the ship to land.
Megil Tel-Zeke
Edward-Laboratory Room number 217, Chemistry Department, University of Mars.

Edward was sitting in the empty lab, reading over some notes he had taken of his alb work from the day before. His professor, Dr. trepe, was making some progress on replicating rithum. in front of Edward was a sample of unrefined rithum crystals, and three lab counters were filled with instruments that edward was using. He had been in the lab for two whole days, incapable of getting this obstacle out of his mind. Edward looked up from his plasma board in frustration, he rubbed his eyes.

"Why is it not working," he said to himself. Over the past two days Edward had made progress in identifying the elements that composed the crystal lattice of rithum. Yet he could not synthesize the crystal when putting the apropriate proportion of each element in a solution. He got a crystal, but it was sgnificantly weaker than rithum, and lacked many of it's properties. the synthesized crystal had a lower melting point than rithum, it was brittle, it was no malleable or ductile, and could not stand half the pressure rithum could.

Written on his plasma screen were literally hundreds of possible variations for the rithum crystal to be composed. But Edward did not know which one of the variation was rithum. He picked up the crystal and examined it through his glasses,

"What are you hiding, what is your secret that makes you so dam hard to replicate."

He was talking to a crystal now, he was definetly tired. he packed his plasma screen. Edward cleaned up and packed up some compounds and instruments. he left some others up, he would return after some sleep to try and figure the puzzle out.

he unlocked the door and walked into the hall, he nodded his head at a group of passing students. Several professors greeted him, or tried to hold small conversations with him about his work. Edward stopped and greeted each and told them that his research was going alright, but there were many snags along the way. They gave him some words of encouragement and continued on their way. Edward walked to his dormatory, and upon entering saw that, as usual he had several dozen messages.

"Welcome home edward," the computer said as it unlocked the door and let the tired young man in.
"You have 24 new messages: Message one, yesterday 5:00 pm:'Yo Ed it's John, I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me and the boys tonight, we are heading to the club to meet some ladies. Well you are probably busy, I heard Dr. Trepe has some new work for you. Well get back to me.' end of message......"
Megil listened to the messages, the ones from professors wondering if he was sick since he hadn't been in class, several messages from his friends, some in annoyance that he hadn't gotten their previous message, others congratulating him on the work Dr. Trepe had entrusted in him.

Well he got ready for bed, and lay down on his bed with oth arms behind his head, still pondering the chemistry behind rithum. Despite this- probably from exhaustion- Edward was soon sleeping soundly. the computer locked the door and turned the lights off and went into standby.

Wes Hansek
PW Bridge - Milky Way Asteroid Belt - Docked to an asteroid off of Ganymede Trade Route

Wes Hansek shifted comfortably in his seat, hitting a few buttons so it was adjust to him perfectly. He sat wearing a regular polioxon t-shirt with some suspenders and some jeans over his bare steel feet. He stared out his hand, concentrated, watching a blade shoot out and forward from the side. He made it move forward add back, and whick up and down, then go back, concealed in his hand that looked perfectly real. It was his way out.

"Lebbon, pop off a censor," (I called them sonars before remembering space was a vacuum) Wes said into the comm.

"I'm tellin' yah Captain there aren't no shipments coming through this way. They had something like ten trading ships pass through yesterday, two of them were those massive Scrap Barges. All the Docks in Ganymede are filled up taking the load. No ships are going to be leaving today," the comm. said back.

"Pop one off," Wes said again.

"It's fifty creds a shell, and we haven't got a single hit in two weeks. We gotta conserve," Lebbon insisted.

"Yes Cap'n, I think we shouldah went to that other spot, the one near Io. It's not far, we still have plenty of fuel to get there," said another voice into the comm.

"Pop one out," Wes said again.

Seconds later he saw a bright circle ripple out on a censor-screen. It painted a picture of all the asteroids in the area. Wes studied it lazily.

"See, what'd I tell you, nothing here," the comm. said.

"Zoom in on fourteen sixteen," Wes said into the comm. while he himself adjusted the censor to zoom in on a certain location. There, in the screen, a tiny ship slipped between two asteroids.

"Bah, its just a friggin's cog, Captain."

"Well we're taking it."

Nicholas Archer
Frigate, "Pearl Dagger" - Docking at Space Station, "Archer II"

"Alright Pearl Dagger you're clear to land," the tower man said.

The Frigate began angling itself into the port, and large clamps came out to lock into it, slowly bringing both their gates together. A seperate controller in the gate brought it forward and locked it into the Frigate's gate, then set off the compression chamber. The doors opened, and guards stood on each side of the hall at the end of every corridor. Meanwhile Archer walked down accompanied by four guards, his cape whisking by his feet.

He entered the elevator with his guards, and flew down the Space-Station into his Hall. When he opened it, he saw two servants. "Hello Sam, Hello Skylar," he smiled and entered without his guards. With some small talk they worked their way to his chamber where he layed himself down and they poked their little hands in his back, fiddling around with his armor, detaching it from his spinal cord. They then locked his spine into a seat and allowed tiny little scrubbers to clean the individual holes in his back. While he sat in his cleaner they prepared his shower and his clothing. When he finished they attached a protective strip to his back, and he showered the grease off, cleaning his cuts and scrapes. When he walked out, they treated his individual cuts and allowed him to clothe himself.

When he finished, he walked, out, took a coffee, and began writing his Speech for the Council Meeting.

Meanwhile, Pearl Dagger was stripped away of all its scorched debrees and repaired. Wounded were shipped to the coma-tanks while the dead were shipped to the Organic Waste dump. Men in space suits crawled around with their laser-incision devices making repairs everywhere while a large crane was prepare to ship out pieces that were successfully detached.

"This is his ship?" one of the men asked as they made their way into the docks, where they spotted Archer's old heap of a fighter, in black pieces.

"Or what's left of it," his companion answered him. "Beyond repair again," he grumbled.

(OOC: I'm sorry, but I really, as the Unreal Tournament geek I am have to take in some Unreal Tournament weapon ideas. Hope its okey)

Veda
Io, Moon of Jupiter - TAG First Ecounter Defense Quarters - Training Quarters 32-WR

Veda entered the Training Quarters, for Weapon Research seeing his group already standing on a line taking on their protective suites for the new weapon tests. They had just recovered from a successful mission, tho they had lost a man.

Veda walked in and hang up his SoRAR³² on the wall by the exit. He took on the protective glasses and gloves before he walked up the equipment wall typing in the code. The door opened and he walked in and came out with a new weapon that the researchers had been working on the last year. It was the ST-115 Rifle.
It was a new weapon crafted, for the experianced soldiers. The ST-115 was a kind of shock rifle. It fired a highly concentrated puls in almost the speed of light, the puls at a direct hit would make all the blood vains and vital organs explode. No kevlar would help you if you were hit by the weapon, tho it was only usefull on organic creatures. The weapon was very unstable and would need a person with a good aim to use this weapon.

The wounds from Veda's fight against the Rykar that made them implant cybernetic parts in his right arm would help alot as he locked the weapon and got ready to fire. Around 100 feet away it was a dead Rykar strapped to a titan plate.

"Lets see what the gun can do then" Veda said, quite seriously as he placed his cheek on the gun and eye against the small scope aiming in at the dead Rykar.

He used his left hand to active the charging pump. He placed his hand on the trigger and closed his left eye and fired. It was like a small stream of almost light was shoot out of the barrel before hitting the Rykar making it almost explode. Hitting on the left side of the torso blowing it up from the inside sending ribbs and blood flying.

"Nice!" Veda said with a smile, he was surpised of how steady the weaponw as in his arms. He gently laid it down on the bench infront of him stepping back, letting the other soldiers try the weapon.

Satyana Viann, Research Station in orbit around Mars, Food and boichemistry department, the incubator-room

Satyana closed the door to the large incubator to the left. She checked the temperature, it was supposed to be at 25 degree celsius, the ideal temperature for the different yeast-cultures she just put inside.

She went out via the sterile passageway to the outer room, where she took off her protective clothes and mouth-cover. She was tired and had a terrible headache, of course she had not had time to eat since morning, the experiments with the different yeast-cultures had taken the whole day.

"I wonder where the boys are" was her first thought....her ywo younger brothere were all she got as a family and she loved them endlessly.

The scar on her left cheek was aching.....the scar she got in the same accident that deprived Rann, her youngest brother of his eyes.....she herself got a deep wound in her face that took a ong time to heal and always ached when she was tired or worn out.

She decided she had to find the boys and take them home..it was time for dinner.....it really was...

Satyana exited the food and biochemistry department and went ouit into the station..

OOC: please guys, correct me if I make mistakes! okay?

Rann and Syke Viann, Research Station

Rann was walking with Syke towards the biochemistry department, taking small sips from his cup of engine coolant. Rann spotted Satyana coming out of the area and pointed to Syke.

"There she is. Hey sis!" he yelled, as he waved his hand for her to come over there.

"Rann!! Syke!! great you´re here....we really should get back home and get something to eat! You must be hungry.....I am definitely!

Then she noticed the strange construction Rann was carrying.....and drinking something from!!!

"WHAT is that Rannie???? what are you...DRINKING???"

Satyana stared at her brother......

"It's umm...orangeade." Rann lied, noting the orange color and deciding to make a joke of it. He held out the glass to Satyana. "Want some? I got it from Mars last time we went down to the surface."

Syke rolled his eyes, but didn't say anything; he was sure his sister knew Rann well enough not to drink it. Or maybe not; Rann could be tricky sometimes...

Mark quickly piloted his way back to his hangar and landed hastily. He threw off his helmet and ran for the exit realizing he would be late if he didn't hurry. Walking down the hallway, he noticed an old friend of his was up ahead and jogged to catch up with him and patted him on the back.

"Hmmm......doesn´t taste that bad...now for the sake of Mars...what is it???"

Rann, Research Station

"I found a way to make engine coolant drinkable." Rann answered proudly. "They don't teach you that in school, do they?"

Rann was always trying to convince Satyana that he didn't need to be in school; it never worked.

"It's still useless." Syke cut in, "the ship filters and recycles all of the water."

Rann ignored him; he would be singing a different tune if something were to happen to the filtering system. "What do you think of it, Satyana?"
minque
Satyana, research station

"Rannie darling" She gave him a qiuck hug, didn´t want to embarrass him, "You are a clever one I know.....this may be worth looking into..watersupply is always an issue, until we find a way of merging hydrogen and oxygen together....but no way I´ll let you work on it full time! You still have school nd I won´t allow any skip-school.thing here"

"So, Syke, what´s the deal now? food??""
Dantrag
Rann and Syke, same place

"Sounds good, I'm hungry." Syke answered, falling in step behind Satyana and beside Rann on their way to their home.

Rann glanced over at Syke, and they both stifled a laugh; Satyana apparently still believed that Rann was in school. He had been sending fake report cards to her computer for a semester now...Syke agreed with Satyana, but thought that Rann was old enough to make his own decisions, so he didn't say anything.

"We're going to Mars later today." Syke said to his sister. "We have to get some stuff for the ship."

"And I need a new blowtorch." Rann cut in for no apparent reason.

"I already took that, Sis." Rann replied, turning on the recorder in his eyes to remember to change that on her computer. "It was earlier this morning."

"I'm hungry, what are we eating?" he asked, trying to change the subject away from the school topic.

Juac Andrews
Space Station Triumph, Rykan-Human Border

Juac, while being quite absent minded heard Mark, and to which replied in a monotone voice,
"Fine. I suppose you have come for the breifing?" His eyebrow rose.
"Well, you missed it. 1600 hours, not 1700." Juac shook his head from left to right.

"Your lucky there so few of us, or else you'd might be out of a job." The few of us part was hinting back at the Battle of the Blind not but less then a year ago. More then half of the 501st was wiped out.

The two pilots were coming up on the enterance to the living quarters, but Juac didn't enter, but took a seat out in the cafe' area.

"Hmmm...." Satyana suspected something wasn´t right here and told herself it would be a good idea to have a chat with Rann´s teacher....this semester she had only got reports from Rann himself..not a word from the teacher..now that was odd..really odd.

Asking Syke wouldn´t help..he would never tell on his brother..a good thing normally but not in this case....Rann needed his exam....

"Ok boys....how about pizza? , i´m too tired to cook something fancy tonight...."

Rann and Syke, Research Station, their home

Rann didn't like the sound of that "Hmm", but he didn't think much of it; Satyana usually had too much work to check up on those things. And if she did find out, he would just convince a teacher to allow him to take the final (which he needed to graduate) and request to be advanced to college, though he doubted he would go to those classes either.

Rann grabbed one of the many frozen pizzas they owned and put it in the oven.

"Thirty seconds until dinner." he said, merely thinking aloud.

Syke sat down at the table and looked around the room when Satyana wasn't looking; where did Rann hide the cargo?

OOC: ovens are probably more powerful in the future, so i figured 30 seconds was fine.

Mark was still a bit puzzled, "So... Are they deploying us with them in case something goes wrong with the Wildcats? And if they're trying to test the combat effectiveness does that mean they are expecting us to run into some resistance out there?" he asked in the same low tone Juac used.

Rann interrupted his mirth with a punch to the arm. "Not funny." he ran a hand through his hair. "Oh yeah." he said, getting onto his sister's computer and changing the time he had written as his math test. "Well, at least one thing is safe." he mutttered.

"How much trouble would I get in by sending a fake document from the school?" Rann asked.

"A lot." Syke answered, telling him that he had better not think any more about that.

"Damn, damn, damn." Rann continued, pacing. "Alright, before we leave for Mars, I'm just going to ask to take the final, then tell Sis that I passed, which I would have then, and then apply to a college or something."

"And then not go?"

"Exactly." Rann answered with a smug smile.

"So you're going to make Satyana pay all of that money for you not to go to school?"

"I'll have a scholarship." Rann answered confidently.

"Just finish your pizza. We can talk more on the way to Mars."

"I'm not hungry; I just wanted to change the subject earlier."

"Where'd you put it?" Syke asked referring to the cargo they were supposed to be transporting.

"Follow me." he answered. He walked into his room, and into his closet. "You know how the place right beside us isn't lived in? Well, I cut a hole through my closet and put it all inside there. How do you think I broke my blowtorch?" Rann kicked in the wall in the back of his closet, and it fell over, revealing two large crates in an otherwise empty house.

"What are those again?"

"I have no idea." Rann answered honestly. "They tell us not to look, and I don't want any trouble."

"Good idea." Syke said, glad that his brother was showing at least a little sense.

They each grabbed a crate and loaded it on the ship before exiting the station, and entering open space.

"So, you think the exam idea is good?" Rann continued as his brother piloted the ship.

"sure, but if you go to college, you had better actually go." Syke answered, almost threateningly.

"Fine then, no applications."

The conversation continued until they began enteringthe atmosphere; the flames were enough to make anyone silent out of amazement, no matter how many times you do it.

When they landed, Rann looked to Syke. "I forgot to talk to the teacher before we left."

"Just do it tomorrow."

"But she'll find out before tomorrow!"

"Just send a request to the teacher's computer from the ship once we deliver this."

"Alright."

They called for a taxi and got into the hovering vehicle with their crates and made their way to the delivery spot.

Arthur, F.F.A. Base On the Wasteland Earth

Arthur placed the pistol back into it's holster, as he wiped blood from his forehead.

"Cody, Sean, get these brutes bodies out of here."

The two men saluted and followed Arthur's orders.

A man walked up behind him.

"Sir, we have a communications link established with Headquarters. They have some new battle plans for us."

Arthur followed into the Long Distance Communications room.

The screen in front of him showed a picture of a young man. When Arthur saw who it was he saluted, striking the heels of his feet together.

"Sir." He said as he lowered his hand.

"Commander, at ease." He said.

"May I request an explanation for my calling, Sir."

He sighed and muttered, "Straight to the point as usual, Arthur."

"I'm sorry, what was that you just said? I didn't catch it Sir."

"Nothing Arthur. I have some new battle plans."

Arthur nodded, he already knew this much.

Arthur, Pouting in space

Arthur paced back and force across the small enclosed ship cabin, angrily muttering to himself.

This was no battle, this was a pickup mission. He wasn't trained for this kind of thing, when were they going to put him to use?

"Sir, we are landing."

Arthur sighed as he stepped off the ship. They were supposed to pick up crates carrying a deadly gass that would completely shut down the brain within seconds of inhaling.

Rann and Syke, Mars, unkown warehouse

Rann set his crate down and sat on it, spinning one of his pistols around his finger; weapons were often needed in these kinds of dealings. "What's taking these guys so long? I want my money so I can leave and contact that teacher." Rann babbled impatiently.

Syke also set his crate down, but continued standing. "Calm down, I'm sure they'll be here." Syke said to his younger brother.

Arthur, At the pickup destination

He approached the pickup area, and saw two boys, well men actually.

"Good day Gentlemen, now if you don't mind I really am in a hurry."

Arthur rudely shoved the boys off the crates and had his soldiers pick them up. They had little money for anything, so the soldiers would have to carry the crates all the way back to the ship.

Arthur then turned and started to walk away without paying the two young men.

"I'm sure you understand, but I can't do that." Rann replied calmly. "If you don't pay us, we can't pay your provider, which makes us get into quite a bit of trouble."

Rann knew how the system worked; the reciever paid both the deliverers and the suppliers; if the deliverers didn't collect, they had to pick up the tab. This one would be near impossible for Rann and Syke to pay; they couldn't afford to be ripped off right now.

They went back to their ship and were soon flying back home...

Norton, Near research station

he kept circling the station, in the arrow. It was a huge ship, it had a huge laser cannon stolen from the rykar on it, and was made of solid titanium, making it the strongest and biggest ship on the fleet. There were over seven hundred people working on the arrow, and over ten thousand people in the entire fleet "i repeat research station are you getting this signal?"

Kiva, The Space station 'Wolf's Den', Between Earth and Mars

Kiva panting, bringing his blade up to block the strike of his sparring partner. His partner was named 'Tinman' by the other inhabitants of the station, with good reason. Tinman was heavily augemented with cybernetics, becuase he wanted them, not out of need. Needlessly to say, Tinman made a hard opponent, he thought faster, moved faster and was stronger than Kiva, Kiva however, was better at using Rithum blades.

Still, he was learning. Kiva would have to step up his training a notch sooner or later, he reflected as he parried a strike that would have knocked his blade from his hands if he had blocked it, and ducked under Tinman's Golden rithum blade, one made up ornately and designed like a saber or cutlass. Kiva swung the blade struck Tinman's chest. Both fighters wore black suits with thick metal plating for these exercises, and when struck the plate inflicted pain and made the area of the body struck unuseable.

Thus Tinman fell back, his movements hampered by the stomach 'wound', before letting out a mechanized roar and thrusting his blade unexpectedly, and Kiva felt a surge of pain as he left arm went limp. Tinman had overextended himself however and his weight took him to the floor, it was a simple matter of taking the blade down on Tinman's neck and the match ended, and both regained the functions of their bodies and limbs.

"Good match Tinman, seeya later," Kiva said as he headed out panting. Tinman grunted a aknowledgement between gasps of air remiscent of the breathing of a certain cybernetic black clad bad guy from old movies Kiva used to watch. Darth something. Had a cool red laser-sword. Kiva changed into his usual clothing and headed off to his ship, the Edge, which was berthed in Wolf's Den's hanger. The arrow-head shaped ship was sitting on the deck, in pristine condition. Kiva grinned and opened the cockpit and hopped inside, next to the pilot's seat were his guns; his Pistol and rifles.

"Now, where to go to kill some time, maybe some aliens too..." he muttered as the cockpit closed, sealing with a soft hiss.

Kratos settled the butt of the latest experimental rifle against his shoulder. He took aim at the target and fired. The recoil was huge, tossing him back a few feet despite his cybernetic leg. "Bloody hell!" he exclaimed, regaining his feet. He called over the attendant techie. "Hey techie! Take this one back to the lab. No way in hell can anyone possibly use that on a battlefield the way it is now". As he spoke, he tossed the rifle towards the young man, who fumbled but managed to catch it before it hit the ground. As he left the Firing range, he wondered what Veda was up to. He went down a couple of doors and entered the room. "Hey, Veda!" he called to his friend
DoomedOne
Wes Hansek
Asteroid Belt, outskirts of Ganymede trading route

"Okay," Wes said as they flew agily in upon the oblivious cog, stalking it behind the very asteroids. "Send down a TF, we'll shut him down."

"There's probably less in his ship than a TF is worth," His comm. said back.

"Keep your hamster cave eyes on the ball and focus, that's an order!" he yelled. A TF missile sailed around the asteroids and stuck the cog right in the thrusters.

"Now give off a couple EDs!" he yelled as the Cog suddenly pumped off a booster, trying to brink off the side of an asteroid. Two twin EDs came forward and followed the Cog around as it dodged through the various asteroids. One of the EDs strucked into the side, and blew, electric looking surges bumped off. It wasn't armed, so they had no effect. The second ED stayed to course, coming in closer.

"Arm it!" Wes screamed. Right before it was about to hit the Cog set off a second boost, but the explosion behind the thruster caused the thrusters to fail.

"Well the ED blew out our TF," his comm. said.

"Keep an eye out, I'm coming down," Wes said and jumped into the elevator carrying his coat. He threw it on and entered the control-room. "Okay last I saw it was behind that Asteroid up there. We blew out its thrusters so don't worry about another boost. They won't keep going at that pace either, they were off route and they'll have no working fuel. They'll be working purely off inertia they can get from rock-bouncing. We have to find it before the distress signal comes through and the Police get here."

They flew slowly through a large collection of asteroids. Any unnatural movement in just one would be enough to give off a trading cog. They just had to be thorough.

"There," Wes said, pointing up into one that had just barely changed course. The Peregrine Warrior jutted up nimbly and caught the cog trying to land on the Asteroid.

"Lock us!" he grinned. The set off a final ED which shut down the ship completely. After they locked gates he entered with two crew members wearing space-suits.

"Set off the decompression," he ordered, and one of them out in the code, seconds later the doors opened and they entered the Cog.

"You," Wes said as he entered the enemy Bridge, pointing at the one that looked like the Captain, "What are your supplies?"

"Just Aluminum," the Captain offered. Wes ordered one of his men to check the storage.

"Aluminum aye? Why deliver today, Ganymede's closed because of the big shipments yesterday. Aluminum won't be transported for atleast five days once they sort through ths scraps. Want to change your answer?"

The Captain looked dumbstruck.

"That's right, Chev, what they got?"

"Looking like some weird refrigerated room," Chev answered.

"Lemme see that," Wes said and looked at the storage compartment himself. "Aha!" he exclaimed. "Jack pot. Chev go back to the ship and tell them to trust my hamster cave judgement next time. They're transporting frozen bacteria for the terraforming."

"You're kidding," the other guy, Kramer, said credulously.

"This'll keep us going for months. Here, you guys," Wes said to the crew of the cog, holding his gun out, "We're extracting your storage compartment into ours, but we need to move together a little because I'm guessing Police will be swarming this area in a few minutes. We can handle the exchange a few hundred miles from here."

Rann and Syke, their home on research station

Rann and Syke walked inside, and Rann intentionally left the blowtorch on the table so that Satyana would find it and not be worried.

Syke sat down and started running some numbers on their account while Rann propped up the piece of the wall that he had cut out; he would have to fix that tomorrow.

"Hey Rann, come here." Syke called quietly, so as not to wake up their sister.

Rann poked his head in the doorway. "What?"

"Look at this." he said to his younger brother, waving him over.

Rann leaned over his shoulder and looked at the handheld computer. "Oh compassion."

"That bastarde didn't pay us, which means we'll be getting a rather large bill pretty soon." Syke said, as he kept calm, systematically thinking of a way to fix the problem.

Rann was a little less composed, he began pacing about the room, talking aloud. "If they coem for us, you can bet it won't be pretty. Do we ask Satyana for help, or just take on a lot more jobs? Do we give ourselves over when they come? Do we fight them? I only have about ten rounds of Rithum, but I have plenty of bullets. I guess I could start making some weap-"

"Rann, shut up!" Syke whispered harshly.

"Shut up?" Rann shouted back, forgetting that Satyana was asleep. "At least I'm coming up with ideas, you're just sitting there gaping at a computer screen!"

"SH!" Syke insisted. "Satyana's asleep!"

"Fine, I'll shut up." Rann continued, still at a high volume. He walked back towards his room, but not without kicking a few select things first; such as the chair, (knocking it over) the refridgerator, and the wall.

Syke shook his head; something was wrong with that boy. He sighed and put his head in his hands. Rann could make more money around the station by fixing and improving the scientits' tools; he had done it for years before recently quitting. Syke couldn't really do anything as useful around the station; he could be hired help, but most of the people on the station were mostly self-reliant.

He heard a noise coming from Satyana's computer. Something called Arrow was contacting the station.

"Yes, Arrow, this is Research Station 413." he answered, since Satyana was asleep. Or maybe she was awake after Rann's outburst.

Syke, Research Station 413

Syke didn't really know the answer, but he assumed they would be with Frey's military.

"Yes, we work for the official Milky Way government." Syke replied with a shrug. Best to please enormous ships; and it was enormous, judging by the radar. They only had one docking bay for a ship that size, so he looked up the number of the dock while waiting for the Arrow to reply.

Rann, Research Station 413

Rann calmed down after a bit, and remembered that he needed to speak with an instructor. He got on his computer and sent her a message that said,

Dear Mrs. Smith,

My name is Rann Viann. You may remember me, because you tried to convince me not to drop out of school. While I stand by my decision, I would like to take my finals, despite the fact that I am no longer enrolled. this way, it is like I skipped that grade rather than dropping out. Judging by my previous grades, this should not be a problem. I am asking this so that I can have the option of applying to a college, where I may not already know everything.

Sincerely,
Rann Viann

"That should do." he said to himself as he sent the message. He wasn't trying to be arrogant or prideful, he merely stated the facts.

He heard noises coming from the living room, and noticed Syke leaning over Satyana's computer, speaking to someone...

"What the hell is going on?" He asked, looking at the screen.

Syke explained, and Rann immediately walked into his room and closed the door, obviously preparing something.
