What I think is if someone get's the Live version of the 360, I think people should be able to play together on the live, and instead of the computers being on the live version there could just be a bunch of people on the live version, making battle more intense, trading better and such.
But yeah, that's just my opinion...Right?
Intestinal Chaos
It sounds like a massive delay to me. It's more gravitating towards a single player experience.... It'd also (like I said) delay the game considerably. Though it would make sense for it to be downloadable, I don't think many people are skilled enough (or interested enough) to bring this about.
Megil Tel-Zeke
MMO ould bring to much flaming into the game. really destroy the experience.
ShogunSniper
i think a dueling system could be implemented. like they put an NPC in the arena area and he connects to the internet and finds combatants for you (real people) and you fight in the arena. that would be neat.
DoomedOne
This argument has been confounded because you're basically suggesting a mod (I got that from the location of this thread in the mods section) for a version of Oblivion that will not support mods.
Kris
Yeah, it's just my idea though...I'll just keep the rest of them to myself, because everyone'll butcher my vision of them ever happening. kvright.gif
Intestinal Chaos
It really isn't ever going to happen, no use dreaming. But you can at least share your views. And yes, flaming will kill everything, as well as people with names like
1337b01_21 and such... What's so wrong with an actually good name? Honestly?
Kris
What're you talking about "good name?"
Megil Tel-Zeke
he is just saying that amny online games people choose names that aren't really names and are instead statements of phrases. such as 1337b01. At least that is what I think Intestinal Chaos is trying to say.
Kris
Eh, well no matter what isn't in the game, the thing that sucks is I entered one of those things to win an x-box 360 and I doubt I will, and i'tll be soooo long till I can actually get one sad.gif
ShogunSniper
the 360 will support mods, just official ones though. i doubt beth would butcher OB with an online MP aspect.
DoomedOne
shogun, when the developers make them they're called patches, add-ons and expansions.

What about this idea:
A seperate game that is just for Player versus Player dueling in which you could import your Morrowind stats. That way people could prove their skills they will undoubtely brag about.
Kris
Yes, that would be good. I'd buy it.
DoomedOne
I don't like the idea of importing morrowind stats, bujt a simply online arena ladder would be cool, but they'd have to host their own servers, not use servers paid for by bethsoft.
Soulseeker3.0
it wouldn't be to bad (I wouldn't do it because I don't have Xbox or plan on getting 360...), in fact it could be highly possible. The fight scenes have anywere from what to what? (I forgot how many npcs can be in one fight scene tongue.gif) but if a pc could take the place of one npc then we could have a battle scenario.

Along with the Arena duels.... but I think that was already meantioned...
Kris
Finally someone thinks it's some what good.
How do I get higher in Rank?
I'm a bit confused on that [On the web site]
Like Master? And such.
Soulseeker3.0
you have to donate $60 to the site, contact one of Moderators for more info

That is a very good idea, but I don't exactly think that importing stats would be to good an idea. Alot of people will find cheats and glitches and the like, get increadible levels and then just stat kill everyone, though this could be easily solved by having to experiance through fighting.

Oh and about the rank, he's just joking. You have to donate 300$ dollers to my paypal account. Contact me for details.
DoomedOne
Red stop trying to haggle the newbies. It's a standard 60 dollars to the site for the rank of master, and then and extra 40 dollars to me for the rank of expert, which is above master.

You know what would be a really good idea? Hoosting massive battles. Obviously no more than like 10 guys in any particular area but have the detailed battlefield contain possibly hundreds of people at once.

yeah like I said.
The Wolf
I cannot find any practical way to do that.

Although it would be nice one wink.gif.

In line with the PvP I wonder if it is possible to make a co-op mod. Something along the lines of a LAN mod, not an over the Internet mod. I think crawling around the dungeons and in Oblivion with some friends on a LAN would be awesome. Just my 2 cents.
Crosshair
I agree. It would be nice to have coop mode so you and friend can go around killing things together. How awesome would it be to have a group firing spells and arrows at the enemy.

Is it possible to create a mod like this? Wouldnt there be alot of difficulties with networking issues and problems with who is the main protaginist?

Crosshair
Luciro
Well there was a Marrowind lan mod out there. For the PC.
I'm sure an Oblivion one is on it's way. What sucked tho' is you couldn't heal one another. Oh and questing was pretty much out of the question due to a lot of bugs.
Also I see a lot of issues with the NPCs doing the whole.. The world stands still when you're talking to me thing. Zoning as well. Since now ou zone into a majority of cities.
I'm still trying to figure out what all the strings are used for. LoL

Tho' for the PC and the XBox have private servered areas basically set around the arena is an excellent idea. Team fights, one on one, people just watching and communicating. RP servers, strat servers, 1337 d00d servers where folks could just hang out in game is something I'm sure already suggested to the big guys who could indeed make it happen before any of us.
Volsung
I could live with a pvp arena mod, but nothing more then that. You'd be ruining the game if you tried to intergrate it into online gameplay.
ThanadoS
people what you want is an mmorpg, oblivion is not meant to be such. It's a great single player experience, keep it at that. If you want pvp, coop, a more vivid game world due to real people livin in it, go get yourself world of warcraft or something. A mod is all cool and nice, but turning the whole game-idea nuts?
