WIll you be able to Soultrap in Oblivion? I f so, what types of sould can be trapped. My favorite was trapping Golden Saints to make a variety of Constant Effect enchantments. Can NPC's be trapped?

I would be amazed however if we could soultrap npc's. According to the lore they're still protected by Arkay. At least I think it's Arkay

while there is no official word on soultrapping... If you zoom in on that editor pic from the team diaries... You can clearly see that soulgems will exist... So probably soultrapping as well

There is a lot of word on soul-gems now, though nto soul-trapping. They will be a much more common drop since you use them as batteries for enchanted weapons, therefore I think many more beasts will be able to be soul-trapped. Since they eliminated enchantment soulgems as a common item are not a big deal.

Since you need soul gems to recharge all magic items now (they don't self-recharge over time), I would have to assume that you can soul trap. However, like certain other things, it may be possible that it is a perk for Mages Guild members only. You may have to work up to being able to do it as opposed to just buying the spell at level one. Just speculation, of course
