They are going to have something like that right? Becuase, Imo, it is one of the best things ever, like shooting lights and making them shatter, windows, etc.
DoomedOne
Not fully interactive, but pretty close.
Argo
unless you have "water arrows", like in thief, im not sure about the "shooting lights" stuff wink.gif
Infiltrator
Water arrows would be so sweet.. although I know I'm just fantasizing and light removal won't probably be in sad.gif
Fuzzy Knight
Pretty sure you could shatter stuff etc. like in HL2... But about windows, lets remind us about the cell system in Oblivion so, I'm pretty sure if you would attack a window with a axe or arrow I'm sure it would have looked only damaged but woudn't shatter or anything wink.gif

Hmmm, this is a very good question. I wonder in BethSoft took advantage of the Havok engine for the enviroment as well as for objects. Hopefully, the enviroment isn't TOO destructable. Suppose you fight someone to take their house. You may smash up the place, and then have to stash your loot in a smashed up house. Unless their are still brooms in the game smile.gif
ShogunSniper
what i have heard:

You cant cut down a tree or nothin

You can knock stuff off shelves

I want to say I heard that you can shoot lights out... I hope so.

and i dont think shattering stuff would work...lets say you have a cup on the table. that cup is worth 3 septims. you pull out youre warhammer and smash the cup. so what now? do you pick up all the pieces and sell them? is that cup lost forever?
Soulseeker3.0
heh funny thought Shogun, yeah I was thinking like in Hitman 2, you can attack anything and atleast a mark was left there.

this could probably be easily done, but then the question is raised: does the mark stay there? if not, what happened to it? what would stop the player from marking up an entire wall or house? it just goes on...

however something that would be sweet is if you pulled out a giant battle axe and cut a table in half. that would be awesome.
Soulseeker3.0
that would be awsome. I would love to goof off with my arrows on buildings tongue.gif and then go and pick them up again if they weren't damaged....
DoomedOne
That's my entire plan as my stealth character is to get on top of buildings and shoot people from above. I'll be an assassin incase you haven't guessed.

id say theres no problem in that. if you smash a cup its lost forever. your fault. like in real life. selling pieces of the cup will not work.

no big problem.

therell be a limit for marks stored. they will vanish over time, and you cant make more than, lets say, 50 - 100. other engines handle it that way, so will oblivion.

i dont see a problem with that neither.

thats what they said, you can do. shoot arrows and pick them up again. already confirmed.

Ah yes, arrow-material interaction, can't forget that. Personally I like to affect my enviroments. But for once I'd like to slay a population of a town and actually destroy the buildings while doing so. After I have done that several times with an "army" it still feels lackluster with all the empty buildings sitting around. But it's still not too high on my list.
raistlin
I think that sometimes....yep.

suppose you smash every single piece of silverware in the game? then the game would be silverware-less...

in real life cups are being produced so you can always buy more, will the markets in OB have an unlimited supply of cups flowing in? although this is possible, somehow i don't think it will happen.
Argo
i would say it depends on material. while you can smash glass stuff, you wouldnt be able to break metal stuff.

and if you really are patient enough to smash all stuff in the game world, just to find out if its gonna be reproduced or not, please do so smile.gif well see you sometime around the end of next year then wink.gif

OMG DID YOU GUYS EVEN GO TO THE E3 AWARDS!?!?!?!?!?! i watched it, the demonstrator was showing us the interactive environment, he was in a cave, he saw goblins sitting around a fire....like 12 of them, and then he took his bow, shot the chain which was attatched to a chandolere and it fell on all 12. he also went to a bookshop, talked to this lady (whom was the owner) and he tlaked and talked, until she got tired. she fell asleep, and there was this dog barking outside....well, what would any TES fan do??? SHE WENT OUTSIDE AND CAST MAGIC ON THE DOG INGULFING IT IN FLAMES!!! it was hilarious! so, yeah. the environment is interactive, FULLY interactive, exept for busting windows on houses.
Soulseeker3.0
yeah I would have gone if my parents.... well I'll stop before I get in trouble....
