In morrowind i made a guy and did nothing but train his ranging level. After many days of training it i began to think that it was becoming quite boring. I was wondering about the ranging skill in oblivion and if it will be way better. I was also wandering if they will keep crossbows in the picture. If u have any info about this please tell me.

i belive this belongs in the oblivion thread though i have no power to move it...

So far i have heard that they will only have bows,but they made it extremely realistic,the arrow arches and with the havick system its fun to shoot things to see what happens.

i want to know if you can shoot flaming arrows not magickly but with oil .

That would be aesthetic? Yeah, they haven't said too much about ranged stuff.

Who the hell uses ranged weapons, anyway? Even if your class is "Archer", it's still more convenient to buy or create a cheap spell.

thats probably the reason that they are redoing the ranged part of the game. they are probably making much more effective. i wonder, do they have a to-hit roll to determine if an arrow hits still? or will the crosshairs move when you pull back the bow?

I doubt there will be a to-hit roll on arrows since it was taken off from melee weapons. "if it hits, it hits" as they said

but it seems lie i read something somewhere that bows still had a to-hit roll on them....they need to release info on archery.

Whilst crossbows might off been cool to have back I don't think that making bows themselves better was a bad idea.
