What the title says. What are your characters wearing? What are they wielding? Feel free to post for characters from other TES games as well. I didn't see a thread like this so I thought I'd make a new topic for it.

Do'Shakir, before his recent demise, was wearing full leather (no helmet) and wielded an iron longsword and steel bow with iron arrows. He also kept a silver short sword handy for those pesky ghosts.

EDIT: Moved Ravos to the newly created Skyrim version of this thread.

Me thinks we should just post Oblivion characters here, but who am I to say...? tongue.gif

Well, Lothran always wears Saviour´s Hide together with enchanted leather greaves and boots and in the winter he wears fur enchanted to resist Frost. What weapons he wields varies all the time, but his two constant backups are Dark Dagger during summer (enchanted to do Health Damage) and in the Jeralls it´s Snowflake, an Elven dagger enchanted to do Frost Damage. Snowflake was btw a gift from Buffy smile.gif

You're probably right but I couldn't be bothered to make or for skyrim and one for oblviovion tongue.gif

This is a fun idea. I think we could use another one for Sky as well (the more the merrier!)

For now I will just keep it to my most recent Oblivion characters.

Aela wears the Road Rogue Outfit. Her staff uses meshes and textures I took from Armamentarium Staffs, then recolored and created my own staff.

Astarte wears the Silverlight Armor - Mailed version. She also uses the vanilla silver greatsword.

Devana usually wears Silverlight Black and Red retexture, and uses Nico's Dreadweave Bow. However, sometimes she likes to go out exploring in just vanilla leather armor and an iron bow

Totally! Good one, Vital

Here is Lady Saga. You can click on that thumbnail to enlarge it I think.

IPB Image

She's a bit more suited up than usual, and all of the gear listed below (except the Forest Friend amulet) was found by her from dungeoneering, she didn't buy a piece of it. It's ironic too because right now she barely has any gold.

WEARING
Helm of Power: steel helm with +15 Magica This is over-the-top for Saga, she usually doesn't wear heavy armor, nor does she prefer wearing helmets at all. But she just found this one and can't resist having that extra magic. She'll probably sell this piece once she gets to Bravil, though.

Weaponward Cuirass: leather armor with 9% weapon resistance. She also wears leather bracers, boots, and greaves.

Jewelry: Forest Friend Amulet (makes a lot of vanilla creatures non-hostile and also bumps Magicka up 20 pts.), Necklace of the Sea (water breathing)

WIELDING: Silver Bow and Silver Mace. Good old silver. Can't go wrong. Saga actually prefers silver over enchanted.
Renee
Good lord Aela and Devana are attractive. wub.gif

Vital
Subrosa, all your characters look great! I love Alea's staff and Astarte's Silverlight armor is immense!

Renee, Lady Saga looks awesome in her leather armour. I can tell from her look that she would be at home in the forests.

Oh yes, that's what she's all about, although right now she's doing Mage's Guild recommendations so she's spending a bit more time than usual in the towns & villages. biggrin.gif

Here is a townie pic of her.

I'm not sure offhand what she's wearing, but she typically does inexpensive Earth tone clothing in her downtime.

Yeah, that's one thing. Her new face looks rather sad. I had to create her by looking at her pics from Xbox (couldn't figure out how to import her so I had to start from scratch) and I did my best, but the 'new' Saga looks rather sad.

Great shots, everyone! And welcome to Giedrius.

Buffy’s wardrobe is massive. For adventurewear, she tends to prefer an eclectic mix of buckskin, silk and occasionally some light metal of some sort. She is armed with some potent spells and one of several powerful bows.

Heres a very typical shot of what she might wear out in the forest - Taking a break.

Welcome, Giedrius! smile.gif

Ooo, that’s one of my very favorite Buffy ensembles. happy.gif

Lildereth often wears the Roadstroker’s Rogue set while she’s out adventuring. The brown shirt and blacksmith pants are another favorite outfit. She is a stealth archer and illusionist, so she has no real need for armor. In snow or a cold rain she’ll put on a cloak, and in a warm rain she’ll wear the huntsman outfit or less. Lil favors skirts and dresses for town wear, not too fancy and green if she has a choice. She travels light so she usually only has one or two city outfits with her. She wears a necklace enchanted with Frost Shield. It was a gift from Jerric. The effect isn’t enough to turn a blade, but it keeps her from freezing or hurting her feet on the rocks while playing in the water. She also wears the Ring of the Vipereye (Fort. Agility 5 and Resist Magic 7%) and an unenchanted ring with a green stone in it.

Lil’s bow Shimai is the Robin of Locksley bow. It’s unenchanted. Lil doesn’t carry a melee weapon. If the bad guys get that close she spends all of her efforts on getting away. She carries silver arrows but usually uses steel.

Oops, I was going to post Lil’s Skyrim gear here too since she’s the same character, but I’ll put that part in the new thread. Great idea, Vital! I enjoy reading about other characters’ choices.

Well currently armour-wise, Eilidh is mixing and matching with this:
Front
Back

Casual-wise she currently favours this: Dress even though it's perhaps a little less classy than her other clothes...

haute ecole rider
Currently I'm playing Julian, and she is back in her leather gear that saw so much use in OHDH. She is carrying a steel shortsword, but I'm sure she'll be glad to exchange it for the katana once she joins the Blades. She is also carrying a steel bow, but has a small collection of bone arrows that do more damage for less weight. All this will change without advance notice!

This is the first time I ran through the tutorial dungeon with all the mods, and I'll have to say it's quite a different experience. For starters, the arrows do much less damage than we're accustomed to. Partly it's because I am playing at the default setting, but Julian is so frustrated that it takes six, SIX arrows to down a measly Goblin peon from a sneak attack. We are looking for ways to give those arrows a bit more punch, but Julian is also keeping an eye out for a stronger bow. Tallei got a Black Bow and has been happy with that one, so Julian may like it when she heads down Leyawiin way. But with the TIE mod and the difficulty setting, things are turning out to be very different. On the plus side, she is racking up her blade and block skills so fast.
ghastley
So many characters, so many choices!

But there are a few generic preferences. Since you can enchant clothing to provide magical defence, many, if not most, of my characters do so. My "Orc with a Battleaxe" character wears leather boots, laced leather pants, and doesn't bother with a shirt or hat/helm. That still means two ring slots, an amulet slot and two clothing slots for frost/fire/shock shield and the Transcendent Sigil Stone variety only needs three of those for 75% armor rating. Blossom, his female counterpart with the more dainty one-handed axe, used reflect damage and spell enchantments to get her defence another way. Her velvet dresses and shoes didn't get enchanted at all.

My mages generally dutifully wear their assigned robes while they're doing the guild quests, and then find something more fashionable to enchant after they graduate. Half the members in the city guildhalls wear "civilian" clothes, too, so it seems appropriate.

Archers all agree on lightweight and sneaky stuff, and several of them carry the Bow of the Mongolian Horseman just because it looks like a real bow. I usually have them decide what existing bow's stats they like, and then substitute the model for their game only.

Clark wears Green Finery from the Shivering Isles, and gets his defence from reflect enchantments (such as the Escutcheon of Chorrol and Ring of the Iron Fist). He's usually got a companion to help with the offence, but he'll use a shortsword when it gets close.

Thanks for such a warm welcome, dear friends. Your forum is realy nice.
Btw, Am I the only one, who thinks Scar-Tail is the best looking argonian in the game?

Thanks for sharing everyone biggrin.gif and welcome to Giesdrius! Some great characters being described/shown. It's interesting how much you can tell about a character by the armor they wear and the weapon they use.
Renee
Giedrius911g: I think the best-looking Argonian is Ocheva from the Dark Brotherhood.

Vital: you are so right. Every character's choices with wearing & wielding are so individualized.

haute ecole rider
Agreed, RGIV. Julian's choices of armor and weapons reflect her Legion training combined with her circumstances (weakened body, lowered encumbrance) which has forced her into the light armor path. Naturally, by the end of the MQ, she much prefers the light stuff! No more plate for her, no matter how glamorous (even the Blades armor doesn't appeal to her as it once did). She still relies on the slim, practical lightweight katana, and at the end is carrying Valdemar's unenchanted Ancient Katana from Sancre Tor.

Tallei, on the other hand, just can't get used to armor. When she must wear something, it's the Nightblade Armor she stripped from a female Nightblade Assassin who had the misfortune to tangle with her Summoned Bear on the road. She waves around a steel shortsword, but doesn't really know how to use it. No boards for her, she has not yet learned to block. She has a hard time with the bow, and at this point she is pretty much weaponless. Maybe someday she'll learn the bound sword spell . . .

Jerric is a walking arsenal with a range of steel and leather armor across platforms and games, but he has a few signature pieces. He most often uses Atronach’s Redeemer, a fine steel longsword enchanted with Absorb Magicka. He tends to let the charge run out and depend on potions for recharging magicka, though. He also carries Blade of the Medic, a katana enchanted with Absorb Health. Then there’s the dagger Your Soul Is Mine and a silver mace that we pretend is Nordic silver. He prefers not to dull his blades on skeletons. His shield is the Tower of the Nine (you can buy it), and in some games where a Kvatch shield has become available he has Lionheart’s Shield. It’s somewhat crappy so he enchants it with Shield. He often wears a hood instead of a helmet. It’s a battlemage thing. Oh, and the gauntlets Fists of the Drunkard purchased in Anvil are his favorite for traveling.

In town Jerric wears leather boots with just about everything. He likes the brown shirt and light brown pants. If he hopes to get lucky he might put on the quilted doublet. Or he might just take off his shirt, depending on the company. I have a number of screenshots where he’s shirtless and I have no idea why.

Rings vary according to what he’s found, but he always wears the ring of Hump You Fetching Mages, a gold and diamond ring enchanted with Spell Absorption. In one game it’s just a plain gold and diamond ring and the enchantment comes from an amulet he found. We sometimes have to be flexible. His favorite necklace is a daedroth claw (no enchantment). He only has it in the PC game.

In Skyrim I had to make Jerric’s shields in the CK. He still wears heavy armor, steel plate in the vanilla games and iron on the PC. Tower of the Nine is a Blades shield and Lionheart’s Shield is a Solitude guard’s shield. It’s the Shield of Solitude in his vanilla games. His swords are silver, katana, and Skyforge steel.

The biggest change between provinces is cosmetic. Skyrim lets him have his beard! biggrin.gif
Lopov
I don't have a character in Oblivion currently but I'll write about Raven because he was my last OB character.

Raven (Raimond Venderaux) almost never wore any armor, he prefered ordinary clothes because they made him feel agile and unburdened.

Headgear: Raven often wore a common blue mage's hood, he always had it on if it was raining but sometimes he put it on in cities as well, when he preferred not to be seen. This hood was one of the few items that he kept almost from his first day.

Torso and hands: Raven changed only a few shirts during his stay in Cyrodiil, one of his first and favorite ones was a common blue & green shirt, enchanted with poison resistance. Later he switched it for a common shirt with suspenders that he bought at Thoronir's. During his battle with Mannimarco he was wearing a patched vest. Regarding gauntlets - except if going to cold places like Bruma, Raven never wore any gauntlets.

Legs and shoes: His favorite pants were enchanted with Spell Absorption, I don't recall where he had found them, but they accompanied him most of the time. At some point he also wore chainmail greaves and chainmail boots and these were the only armor pieces that he liked and made him feel comfortable.

Jewelry: at the beginning he wore a silver amulet and a matching ring but when progressing through the MG questline, he switched his amulet for the Spelldrinker Amulet. He also switched his ring with an enchanted one but right now I can't remember which one it was.

Habits: Raven had a habit that whenever he visited the Arcane University, he changed to a formal University attire, at first he wore common mage's robes, then Robes of the Apprentice, and as he rose in ranks, he wore White Mage's Robes. When visiting Counts, he didn't wear his common clothes but put on something more appropriate, like a green brocade doublet and fine silk trousers.

The only time when he wore full armor, was when he left Cyrodiil after defeating Mannimarco. Since he was going to Skyrim, he needed to be prepared for cold weather, and equipped a full set of fur armor before departing north.
Renee
That's awesome Lopov and welcome back to Chorrol. There's a room for rent at the Oak and Crossier if you desire. smile.gif

Raven's gear is interesting, he's got a lot of emphasis on comfort versus functionality. Interesting. Right now Lady Saga is in the same boat; she'd prefer to run around in her Huntsman's top and tan pants but right now she's more about survival, so she's been wearing several light armor pieces.

Falador? What does Falador wear?

Renee

Lady Saga has put together a rather attractive outfit for Bruma without really meaning to. A simple brown shirt (long sleeves are important to keep the cold out), leather greaves, and leather boots. All vanilla clothes, but I've never really noticed how this getup compliments her hair & skin tone. She's also found some white bracers for her wrists, which she's ecstatic about. The white bracers might be considered a 'fashion disaster' here on Earth; they don't really 'go along' with the rest of her outfit.. laugh.gif Oh well.

What are you Wielding?

She's recently found a Bow of Shocks, a simple vanilla bow which does a small amount of shock damage.
Acadian
Well, I think Lady Saga has good taste. Buffy's blouses probably number over 100, yet that wonderful and simple brown blouse has always been one of her staples. Oh, and shock is certainly one of the better effects to have on a bow - Lady Saga must have good Bosmeri instincts. smile.gif
mirocu
She looks good indeed, but I so hate pb... dry.gif

Bow of Shocks, eh? I agree Shock is a good thing to have enchanted on a weapon, Lothran has a slightly stronger bow called Shocker, btw... biggrin.gif And now when he´s down in the greenish of greens he´s changed into his Saviour´s Hide and greaves and boot of leather smile.gif
haute ecole rider
Now that Julian is done with the MQ, she has put away the Kvatch gear. She kept the leather boots as they are now so well broken in it's like second skin for her. But she is in a pair of blacksmith's pants and the green stitched shirt she likes so much. Oh, and she changed her glasses for a pair of half-moon ones. I'm liking those on her much better.

She also discovered a barrel of white wigs in Pell's Gate (thanks, Apachii) and is currently wearing her hair in two braids. Kinda cute, especially combined with the new specs.

She is still carrying the katana. Not much else. Oh, and her Shadow jewelry set that she has painstakingly accumulated and enchanted with Chameleon Sigil Stones. They add up to 90% Chameleon when she is wearing all of them. Kind of like Cyndi Lauper . . .
ghastley
Clark was last seen wearing the Rainment of Arden-Sul. He likes the blue and green finery from the SI, as it's appropriate garb for an Earl, and that instance has a few useful enchantments, all on the one item. He carries the Escutcheon of Chorrol, and wears the Necklace of Swords and the Ring of the Iron Fist, so that he doesn't have to respond when someone hostile takes a swing at him. He hasn't quite got 100% resist damage, but it's close. His older outfit did much the same for Reflect Spell. He also has a collection of Sigil-stone-enchanted items to provide 100% chameleon, in case he needs to avoid combat completely. One of those is a pair of wrist irons. He's forgotten where he picked those up.

He wields a glass shortsword that's enchanted with shock damage and Soul Trap, which works nicely with his Azura's Star to keep itself charged, as long as it's not NPC's he's fighting. Not that he gets into many fights, if he can help it. He's usually travelling with at least one companion, and they seem to have more of a taste for combat than he does.
Renee

I just got this mod, too. viking.gif Lady Saga will never wear a wig, she's like an Earth Day hippy in our terms. She's all about natural things, but Renee Gade III (who I just created the other day) doesn't have a problem with wigs at all!

Acadian: Yes, shock magic is a good thing to have. I can't wait 'til Saga gets to the Arcane University, that's when the real fun with bow enchantments will begin. bluewizardsmile.gif

Rider – Yeah, Julian doesn’t seem like the OMG Champion Dragon Armor type of course. Nice to hear she’s found some new hairstyles and going around casual – with her katana of course.

ghastley – The blue / green finery type stuff from the SI certainly does suit Clark. And I agree: shock damage paired with soul trap and Azura’s Star makes for a devastating and simple package.

Renee – It’s so fun to see you fully enjoying the wonder of PC screenshots and mods. I love Saga’s hair color!

If I may have a request, btw. That pic of Buffy with her Spriggan sister is very nice. Maybe post it here to show Buffy´s rich wardrobe? smile.gif

mirocu, don't feel badly about Hircine's quest. Buffy still has not forgiven herself for Borderwatch; nor has she forgiven Sheo for his role there. Happily, she has rebuilt the trust of the Khajiit village and even replaced the Olroy cheese (that took a trip all the way to Corinthe, Elsweyr). And she was delighted that one of her guildmates deposed Sheo from his mad palace.

Regarding Buffy's sprig outfit, I think I know the one you mean – Here she had about 800 hours and Buffy was version 1.5: Old shot.

When we went to Buffy 2.0, that outfit no longer fit so we had to find a new spriggan outfit: Recent shot. (Here, she's just wearing the top and bottom. Not shown in this shot are the grassy roman sandals, gauntlets, cape and leafy crown that can be worn with the outfit.)

Just for info, Buffy 1.0 was pure vanilla and played from 0-500 hours. We went to BAB and CCR to change her look into Buffy 1.5 who continued the same game to 1000 hours. The big change to 2.0 (done mostly to fix growing problems with 1.5) required restarting her game with her as her very own race. I just lump all her hours from both games together though and she is currently at 3551 hours. I love the unique charm that all three versions of her have and hesitate to post older shots because I don’t wish to invite comparisons of her evolving looks. smile.gif

Lothran´s new mace called Elemental Mace works fine smile.gif

It does all elemental attacks 5 pts for 1 sec which may not be much but it can deal 100 blows before depleted. And more importantly it is designed to work with a spell that deal all weaknesses 100 % for about 15 secs (don´t really remember now) and together with that it gets pretty powerful smile.gif

WEARING:

Chainmail of Life-Seeking
(14 ft. Detect Life). This is Saga's first piece of enchanted gear she's created herself. 14 feet might not seem a lot, but it's a big deal for her to have any DL without casting spells. She hasn't managed to find any Detect Life rings or other such objects yet.

Hands of Akatosh: These are steel gauntlets with 20 feet of light radiance. She found these in an Ayleid ruin I think.

Steel Greaves: she's looking to ditch these as soon as she finds something softer. Too much heavy armor

Chainmail Boots: Saga wanted to enchant these as well, but just enchanting the cuirass with a common soul gem drained nearly all her money at the time!

Forest Friend Amulet: wink.gif

She probably has a couple enchanted rings as well, I'm forgetting what they do, though.

I'm glad Lothie's new mace is working well. Pairing the right spell and weapon together can be great fun. Buffy's 'prep' spells generally focus on immobilizing, weakening to poison or both.

It's fun following Lada Saga as she goes about finding decent gear. Luvs detect life! She's doing great, and what a nice screenie!

I'm going to answer the second part first, for reasons that will immediately become apparent.

Tarvyn Dralor

Wielding: A steel bow.

Wearing: This one's a lengthier answer. Tarvyn seems to be collecting clothes at the moment. And tends to wear them for different reasons:

He'll wear a dark shirt with blacksmith's pants(trousers mad.gif) and doeskin shoes when travelling.
He's got a set of burgundy linens with shirt that he sometimes wears around town.
A green brocade doublet with trousers and shoes to match. He's not actually worn these yet, he's working on something to stop the doublet's sleeves fouling the bowstring.
Two robes, one green one, complete with hood, and the other is Mages Guild blue. he's not worn either of these yet either.
But his preferred outfit is one he didn't think suited him, he wasn't exactly fond of it but it grew on him. A black and burgundy outfit with gold trimmed shoes. makes him look comically overdressed when in Bravil, but what can you do? laugh.gif

I think he's overcompensating for crossing half of Cyrodiil wearing nothing but sack cloth.

Love that picture Renee...Very atmospheric!...

My original character - Nordy Boy - managed to find two helmets of detect life...Both of which were the maximum distance ones...And both Daedric... blink.gif ...Looked awesome...Unfortunately this is what he had on him when he did the Bruma Gate battle during the MQ...*Sigh*...Cue statue with horns then... kvleft.gif ...

Aaamywho...

Tharryn has just acquired an Elven Cuirass, which is nice...To go along with his Orcish greaves, boots and gauntlets...His head is covered by the green hood he found in Vilverin at the start of his "Life"...

Weapons are a Glass Bow of Silence (much ghost killingness!), a Glass Longsword...Aaaand a Dwarven Shield...Because it's pretty...*Flutters eyelashes*...Will move on to Ebony as soon as they become available...
