Just state your worst fear... if you can. MUHUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Okay... now that that is over with. Mine is kinda odd. Have you ever woken up and been completely unable to move? Not even an inch? You try to move something anything, but in vain? No matter how much you try to move you just lie there, completely still, then all of a sudden you jerk up with the full ablity to move? Thats my greatest fear, its like torture to me, and it happens fairly often. I said it was odd.

Well I used to be thanatophobic, afraid of death. Not to be confused with necrophobic, afraid of death things, but more like the psychological fear of dying, not as though I was afraid of being in a risky situation. The opposite, of I have a tendency to thrusdt myself into dangerous situations.

I'm not afraid of anything. I figured that when I get old and near death I'm going to be really happy becaue i finally get to see what's the deal with the whole 'death' thing.
DoomedOne
Aug 16 2005, 11:18 PM
Yeah konrad though the problem with me was I basically figured there was nothing. Eventually I realized it doesn't matter what happens when you die, everything after I die will be irrelevant in consequence to the situation right now, so no use worrying about it, I will simply cherish the situation right now and hopefully achieve some meaning on this planet. That's how I got over my fear of death.
Konji
Aug 16 2005, 11:25 PM
Yeah. If there is something after death, then you'll be around so you can be happy about it. If there is nothing then you might as well be a water pistol or fargoth...you're just an impracticle inanimate object.

I think I used to be afraid of death, but it doesn't really bother me any more. The way I see it, being afraid of death doesn't make sense for two reasons. Firstly, it WILL happen and it's unavoidable (though I suppose that could be part of the fear) and secondly, when I'm dead there will be nothing to fear, becuase I'll be dead anyway. Naturally I fear the actual act of becoming dead (well, if it's not a nice old-age, death-while-sleeping-after-worthwhile-life kind of death) but I should think that's pretty normal seing as how it could involve anything from drive-by shootings to meteor strikes.

Ok, so getting cornered by a group of chavs that outnumber you might be scary, but they do provide a superb source of comic relief. Another interesting thing about chavs is that their size tends to be inversely proportional to how angry they are. Some of the biggest chavs can even take a joke, but the small ones are likely to get stabby if you say as much as "good morning".

Intestinel Chaos, I've seen that group of photos (save the first one with the actual spider) half a dozen times to represent different species of spiders from black-widows to wolf-spiders, to cobras and three-steps. Anyway, I'd rather be afraid of a creature you can make a cool looking costume out of like batman did. Spiderman's costume is too flashy. Maybe I should be afraid of ghosts, and wear and invisible suit.

The BiteAhh the brown recluse, or the "Arrow bite spider". I personnaly don't believe those bites are from a brown recluse though, when they bite they cause a dart board like group of circles that get bigger as the weeks go by. They do cause the plague however, though it doesn't make huge gnashes like that.

You want to hear a horror story? When my mon was like, five, she was playo=ing hide and go seek. She was hiding in a narrow alley way between two houses and walked into a spider web. Worse thing was, the eggs had just hatched. She had thousands of baby spiders in her hair and had to shower to get them out. She was pretty afraid of spiders, but now she is barely afraid of them. I think its because when you have children, you learn you can't really be deathly afraidd of small things like spiders. Personally, I find spiders increadibly fascinating. Silent, tricky, trap making arachnids. You know some spider webs are big enough to catch fish that are about 8 inches? And did you know that the bird eating spider of the South American rain forest can grow up to a foot high and wide? There, that probably stopped you all from sleeping.

I must say despite fearing spiders, i do find them absolutely fascinating, i just make sure they are in a glass jar filled with ethanol or other preservatives, before i will examine one.
jumping spiders though i don't mind at all, i love watching them up close.
also nothing beats sitting down somewhere and talking to someone or in a rom full of people, only to glance down and find a scorpion sitting about 2-3" from your hand.
i have had this happen to me once, we were at our second farm (in venezuela) and we had just arrived and i was setting down my stuff in my room. well on the wall above my bed is a 2" scorpion just sitting there. my dad tries to catch it, but it jumped of the wall onto the bed and dissapeared into a crack in the wall.
then i have seen it happen two other times to friends(i was living in panama at this time). the first time was 6th grade year we were in homeroom, well our homeroom was in a teachers office and she had these giant pillows for us to sit on. well my friend jaime (spanish for james) took the corner pillow. so everything is normal right until about after 30 minutes when we see a small scorpion climb up the wall above jaime, so we tell him to move very slowly out of the way, and we all run out of the room. the second time, we were in Pedasi at a hotel for a beach trip, and my friend mark was sitting on a bed, there were about 10 people hanging out in the room, when suddenly Mark begins screaming and jump up from the bed,as a scorpion was sitting idly about 1" from his hand.
Another incident that my sister told me about was when a scorpion actually fell off the wall and into the back of someone's shirt >.<

I hear you on the deep water thing, in the newest Zelda game there is a part where you have to sink down this really
really deep room filled with water. My heart was going about a mile a minute, also oceans in games terrify me... Dunno why, they just do.
The before mentioned "sleep paralisis" still scares the crap out of me, thankfully it happens less often now.
My strangest fear that I never really told anyone before now is perhaps the weirdest one I have ever heard...
I am afraid of people knowing certain things. Like a friend of mine whom I have liked for almost a year and a half, I am mortally afraid of her finding out how I feel, not just for fear of rejection, I am just terrified that she will find out.
Told you it was weird.

Fear of the Unknown= Prejudice, anxiety in new surroundings, etc.
