My parents recently unearthed this picture and sent me a copy, so I thought we could share pictures of our pets and maybe share any amusing stories about them. This little guy was caled Ollie. We took him in after a family over the road got him from a rescue centre and they said he wasn't getting along well with the dog they already had. He came with his name and it seemed kinda cruel to change it since he knew what it was.

He also came with a huge appetite. While at the house of a family friend, he decided to jump up on the table when no one was looking and dispose of a plate of sausage rolls and most of a victoria sponge cake. He was noticably fatter... you could actually see that he was fatter... and threw up about 5 minutes later because his body just wasn't designed to take that much food.

Shame he came down with a cancerous tumor in the end... he was only 8 and since he was in such good health (he'd still got as much energy as he had the day we got him aged 2) other than that, I reckon he'd have hit 11-12 no problem.

Oh what a sweet puppydog! He looks alittle like Treydog, dontcha think?

If Treydog gets posted here we can compare
Ibis
Well, I think I was thinking of Trey's old avvy ... before the Davey Jones one. It was a doggy.

His name is Merlin. I got him a few months ago. Of course, he's grown since then. happy.gif
Ibis
Oh Kayla - I think he is the most precious looking little kitten I've ever seen! Even cuter than my sisters grey tabby, Sir Jeffrey.

Well, here is one of our smartest and best pets that we ever had (and we've had 15 dobermans at different times who are smart as whip dogs but this little handful actually had them beat streetsmarts-wise) Actually this is a pic from Google cause I have pictures of Blujie on my hand but cannot scan them in right now:

She fell out of a nest one spring near our birdfeeder cedar tree and we waited all day as her parent flock frantically tried to feed her and get her higher on the branches of a bush. Around sunset my hubby said "It's either the cats tonight or us." So we went out and caught her and she lived for four years in a golden cage (door always open) in our music studio. She grew up thinking she was people, that us two were her flock and even ate what we ate rather than birdseed and consequently was a bit smaller than this picture. She even ate fried chicken (uggh ... cannibal bird) but chinese rice was her favorite food.

Her grave is in a beautiful wood carved chest below the cedartree with a bluejay pinwheel spike in the ground and I also have a resin bluejay in front of my powderroom mirror in her honor. Gone but never forgotten, Blujie

That's so cool Ibis! I would have never thought someone could raise a city bird, but this proves it wrong.

Was it a very talkative bird? Because I know Bluejays don't have a very lovely bird call, they tend to be annoying squakers around here.
Ibis
TMM ... she was very vocal and yet we could never get her to do the Bluejay Rebel Yell! We tried and tried to demonstrate it in our own stupid human way, but she actually never remembered hearing it in the wilds and apparently couldn't reproduce it without some previous reference.

She would not stay outside nor would she fly away from Cain, although she flew all over in the house. Cain would climb with her in hand high into the cedar tree and try to get her to fly back into the wild but she'd never leave his hand ... although she was fascinated with outside and often watched it from a huge picture window looking out upon the birdfeeder in the cedar tree.

She also loved to find and hide things. Such little eagle eyes - god forbid you ever drop a pill on the shag carpet, she'd eat it immediately if you did. She owned a little tin mint container with glass beads inside and her favorite color beads were turquoise, bright blue, greens & orange. Then she'd hide her beads ALL OVER the house. She also loved to place dried lavender flowers in my long hair, one time she put a peanut at the top of my braid on the back of my head and I forgot & went to work. A girl at work saw it and everyone was flipping out laughing when I told them how it got there. laugh.gif

Hahaha, now I wished I had a Bluejay for a pet. I used to have a dog, we had to put him down because he went crazy and bit someone we had dogsitting him.
treydog
Other than my avatar, can't lay my hands on many good pics of the original Trey- short black dogs do not photograph well. He is a long-haired dachshund- tri-color (black, tan, and silver). He is at least 15 now and has been with us since he was a pup. He likes to steal Mrs. Treydog's shoes and hide them in his bed when we are at work. Also used to get one of her blouses and one of my shirts to sleep on when we were away- and then he chewed the buttons off.... He also ate a pair of my glasses that fell of the night table into his bed- actually chewed the edges of the lenses...
Ibis
wow - I bet he was teething heavily when he chewed your glasses up Trey. We once had a black labrador named BlackJack who chewed apart an entire seat of a black vinyl sofa - stuffing was all over the living room when we got home and he was in the sofa like a nest!

Didn't you post a pic of Treydog the dog in the old Real Pics thread that got closed? I thought you did and the caption said "This is me Treydog, don't know who that guy standing there is." hahahaha
minque
Ah well hereīs my darling, Herr Doktor Bolzmann

This is me, Bolzmann

Oh Minque, he's gorgeous! I love his white beard or neck ascot, whichever it is. Is he a long haired tabby cat?

I had one of those named Bilbo Baggalaggins. She was grey and very longhaired with fluffy tail and feathery back legs. smile.gif

Thanks Ibis!
Well heīs a Norwegian Forrest Cat, at least most of him is...He was born on a nearby horse-farm, and I got him about 9 years ago when he was a grey-brown lilīhairball.....
Ibis
Norwegian Forrest Cat - that sounds wonderful! Are they really from the forests originally? I bet he was a little ball of fur when young ... wub.gif

Hehe..I honestly donīt know! Itīs just a cat-brand.....maybe they developed that long thick fur to endure the coldness of the Norwegian forests in winter!

Must say he was utterly lazy during this hot summer......wanted to dwell inside or under some huge bushes to avoid the blazing sun!

On the other hand..in winter he prefers to sleep on out heat-pump ....!!

Wow... thats a very good age. How is Treydog phsyically at that age?

Ollie used to like emptying the bin when people were at work if someone forgot to push it under something. He'd then take the contents up to the bathroom.
Ibis
Omg, the funniest video was on World's Funniest Videos tonight and it reminded me of the real treydog, from what I understand he looks like. Short to the ground, right?
They called this little dog named Salt - Roman Candle Dog - because these folks were shooting a Roman Candle way high in the air and the crazy dog "retrieved it" shooting rounds all acrost the ground as he ran and everyone was running away and ducking and the dog was trying to give it to someone....it was hilarious!!!! hahaha laugh.gif wacko.gif laugh.gif
treydog
Ibis- yes, that is the actual Trey in the "Real Pictures" thread.

Ramirez- he has slowed down some- I think his rear legs are a bit arthritic... and he has only a few teeth left. We still do our morning walk every day and he is always ready for a stroll in the yard, especially if the squirrels are around...
