Well I did this a while ago, but I saw it mentioned in another thread, and I thought it would be interesting to see the personality types we have on this site.

http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp
it's not to bad of a test, you can also google others if you want to verify your results

I'm an INTJ, though I have gotten the result INTP once.

and check out the link below, at the top are the different personality type, just click yours and it will give you a description

Heh, yeah, here's my take on the Myers-Briggs personality spectrum.

It's a tool, not an absolute. It has its uses, but Humanity is now entering an era where we do not need to classify human beings. Myers-Briggs is a good way to classify personality because one idea behind it is that you have all the types of personality-aspects in you, and you have the way you deal with the outside, and the inside. Some aspects are simply more prominent. The test itself describes actions, what actions you would take in this certain situation, what type of person you consider yourself, and then goes further, quite interestingly, into being able to assume many qualities about people they did not really understand about themselves. The personality profiler also reminds us people can deal with the same information in very different ways. So, there are no factions, no any reason to feel not good enough just because your personality type is rather broad.

INFP or INTP, depending on which test I take. Some of ther answers are kind of either/or, and hard to choose. I took two sepparate tests recently, and they said INTP, but tests I have taken before have said INFP, so I'm about even between the two. I prefer to classify myself in my own way, along with everyone else, but it's really something I can't explain, people just "fit" into a category or they don't, and if they don't, they are put into a new category, and the category a person is placed into changes as I learn about them. It's really more of a subconsiou thing, so I can't explain it well. (or at all, really)

EDIT: Oh, here is another Myers-Briggs test, it's a little different. Personality Pathways Myers Briggs Test

I understand what you're talking about. It's called generalizing, and every human being does it whether they realize it or not. Just like in school people try to find which group they fit into, much the same way people use personality traits to group their friends into categories and so on. Funy though, no one ever lays the parameters on themselves because people can only see themselves as complete beings.

Yes, I know that. I do measure everyone I know by it, including myself. In fact, I'd say I have myself down more accurately than anyone else, because I know myself better than I know anyone else. I understand that nobody fits into any one category, and in fact, fits at least a little bit into every category sometimes. And I know I have at least some people down completely wrong, because if I spent the time to get to know everyone completely, I'd die of old age before I got finished with even one person. I'd have to be very arrogant to assume that I could do, in any short ammount of time, or at all, what scientists have been trying and failing to do for years.

Oh, and did you try the slightly different version I posted a link to? It is much shorter, so likely it is less accurate, but it makes it really easy to figure out how the test works.
DoomedOne
Yeah I just did, funny though I see what you mean, I found myself sort of split between F and T and edging significantly toward F.
Kindred Spirit
See, the particular test you take makes a difference. Or not, as the case may be.

I do categorize people with generalizations, including myself. I use the various predjudices in my school, then apply them and see which ones fit and which ones don't. When I try to categorize someone, I use whichever ones fit them, in that approximate order. I am, using my system of generalization an Outcast Smart Nerd Gothic Rocker. It goes in this order for this reason:
Outcast because I prefer to be alone to with people, and feel uncomfortable speaking with or being near more than a few people, rarely if ever participate in anything social including classes and school functions, and very few people know me, as I tend to stay far from human contact in all cases. (not easy in my school, as it is crowded to 4/3 intended capacity)
Smart because I learn new subject material easily, and often know the subject material already, and get good grades without trying, rarely need to ask a question to understand something.
Nerd because I learn a lot of esoteric information through various sources, most of it useless, and often, when I do participate in classes, it is to better explain what the teacher has said for those who still say they don't get it, and that I don't use drugs, although many people in my school do, and have offered to get me some. (soft drugs like marijuana, not hard drugs, and I refuse because the smell of smoke makes me gag)
Gothic because of my general dark outlook on life, the fact that I always wear dark clothing, (though not really gothic apparel) and that I tend to feel more comfortable speaking with a person who is gothic than who isn't.
And then rocker because of the music I listen to, many of the people I hang out with who aren't gothic are rockers as well, and when I'm not wearing clothing that is slightly gothic, I am wearing clothing that is slightly more like headbanger clothing.

So, while my system, like all others, is incomplete and imperfect, it works well enough for it's purpose, which is to sort the people I know into categories, so as to easier keep track of sepparate people. It also is guaranteed to be less than perfect due to the fact that it is based on my own impressions, which are imperfect as all other people's are, and subject to my own oppinions, rather than more scientific methods of classification, not to mention that it is based on stereotypes which have been proven to be less than perfectly true in many cases.

ENTP

Here are some exerpts from M.M. Heiss explanation of ENTP (seeing as currently I'm the only one):

"Clever" is the word that perhaps describes ENTPs best. The professor who juggles half a dozen ideas for research papers and grant proposals in his mind while giving a highly entertaining lecture on an abstruse subject is a classic example of the type. So is the stand-up comedian whose lampoons are not only funny, but incisively accurate.

ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate. They sometimes confuse, even inadvertently hurt, those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport.

Some Famous ENTPs:

Alexander the Great
Confederate General J. E. B. Stuart
Sir Walter Raleigh
Fictional:

Mercutio, from Romeo and Juliet
Horace Rumpole, from John Mortimer's Rumpole of the Bailey series
Dorothy L. Sayers's detective Lord Peter Wimsey

A Few More Famous ENTPs

U.S. Presidents:
John Adams, 2nd US president.
[Adams appears to have been competing with
Thomas Jefferson to see who would live the
longest. ("Jefferson surv...")]
James A. Garfield (who could reportedly write Latin
with one hand and Greek with the other, simultaneously)
Rutherford B. Hayes
Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt

Thomas Edison
Lewis Carrol, author (Alice in Wonderland)
Julia Child
Suzanne Pleshette
George Carlin
Valerie Harper
John Candy
John Sununu
Weird Al Yankovick
Marilyn Vos Savant
Alfred Hitchcock
Tom Hanks
David Spade
Céline Dion
Matthew Perry, Chandler ("Friends")
Rodney Dangerfield
Fictional Characters:

"Q" (Star Trek--The Next Generation)
Shirley Feeney (Laverne and Shirley)
Bugs Bunny
Wile E. Coyote
Garfield the cat

-I can totally agree with her explanations and conclusions. I can also identify with Mercution from Romeo and Juliet; having read the book, I can identify myself with his personality involving goofing off with sensable rationalism. People laugh at my jokes aswell. I think its cool that some of my idols like John Candy and Rodney Dangerfield (i dont get any respect at all either tongue.gif ) are ENTPs aswell.-

I took it again this time I got a ENFJ instead of whatever I got last time (INTJ?) I guess I am changing biggrin.gif

I think I will try to take this test again next week and see if my results were the same with either of my previous ones biggrin.gif

But what I really need is a good IQ test, I have never taken one and my teachers often tell me I would probably be around the gifted zone (around 130). That is whether you believe it or not happy.gif

100-120 is average, 120 or above is gifted or genius, depending on how far above. It's alright though, intelligence quotient isn't al that important.

I took the classic IQ test with my mother and her boyfriend. (She's divorced, not cheating on my dad. smile.gif ) Her boyfriend got a 135 and she got a 127, while I got that 133. She got all stressed out because she was the "dumbest one in the room." I thought it was funny, how hgh your IQ is doesn't matter that much. Fortunately for everyone, she beat a randomly done test done by my little brother. He got a 120, but chose only random answers, blew through the test in as short as possible a time, didn't even look at the questions.

Hmrph I hate being normal, that is why I am so unique happy.gif but I would rather take an actual certified IQ test... I'm also quite young so I'm not sure if getting a few more years experience in school would be a benefit or not... I heard your IQ is the same no matter what age you are.
DoomedOne
Yeah they try to make the IQ like some genetic intelligence ability, but it's not, it's how well you've learned the skills of analization, common sense, logic, pinting out analogies, etcetera. These skills can be improved, so if you want an IQ you can work on making it higher believe it or not, but an IQ is not an absolute on intelligence.
