The story of Telina Delvanni.Chapter one

Hi, a new chapter is now here, and before we start, I'd like to thank Starge, and the other, who created this site, and made it possible for me to write my tale here.


Chapter 2. Of mad Wizards, duty and faith.

We stood in the center of Baladas study room, at the top of Arvs-Drelen. He looked me sharply in my eyes.

-"Telina, know this, I took you as my mouth, beacuse you need a friend and mentor, an I'm propably the best friend you'll ever have here the next month's, but also beacuse you're an extremely powerfull individual, and after a little training, I believe you'll surpass even the ancient and powerfull Divyath Fyr, and that says quite a bit".

I just stared into his friendly, and knowledegable eyes, totally bereft of words.

-"Now, I have a small chore for you, I am in need of someone to deliver this message to Berel Sala, at Vivec, it explains what happened at the hall-of-justice yesterday".

I stared at him with no small feeling of guilt and confusion.

-"You see, I said that I could find out what caused the big catrastrophe, at the teple, now naturally it is just a big lie as I knew what you did, but I could not let you get caught with it, as that would have cost you you're life". "Now, go and deliever this to Berel Sala, he is currently resided in the Vivec High-Fane".

With that I took my leave, and I deposited most of my personal effects in Baladas studyroom, so that he could study them and maby improve some of it, while I went to Vivec, the only thing I took with me, was my Silver-staff-of-peace; in case the guards in the temple required some sort of identification for entrancance, after such a serious accident had occured.

I walked outside Arvs-Drelen, and accidentlu pushed the into the face of an orc.

-"Watch where you're going" I snapped at her, and then I continued to the silt strider.

-"Under sun and sky mutshera, we greet you warmly, do you want to travel somewhere"? The silt-strider operator, proved to be quite friendly, he even gave a discount for being a telvanni. "Oh, my daugther is in that house, it's quite facinating that house, so what position did you hold in the house, again"?

-"Why me, I'm the mouth of Master Baladas, but I intend to go even further in the house, so right now, I'm on official house buisness, to the Vivec High-Fane".

After some cosy seven hours, we was at Vivec, but he did not land, instead he stopped over the temple.

-"Here, go down by this rope, as I have to hurry up with a shipment to Vos".

I slid down the rope, and my suspicions were soon proved, the temple square was heavyly befested with the guards, whom I'd come to know as Ordinators. I stopped before the netrance to the Vivec High-Fane, and presented me to one of the Ordinators.

-"Telina Delvanni, mouth of Master Baladas in house telvanni, are here to give the investigation report to Berel Sala, and I seek entrance to the High-Fane".

I waited for a minute, while the Ordinator was in the High-Fane Talking. Finally he came out with Berel Sala, who looked on me with suspicion, in his eyes.

-"Ser Delvanni, we cant take anyone into the high fane at the moment, before we have read the report, so hand it over, and take this letter of confirmation back to Master Baladas, as a sign of me have recieved the report".

With that he walked back in again, while reading the report, and since I was in a hurry, I quickly made my way back to Arvs-Drelen, and up to Baladas.

-"Hello Telina, may I have the letter you were given "?

"How in the name of oblivion, does he know things like that, are he telepathic of something", I thought inside me.

-"Yes, Telina, I'm actually quite good in telepathy, and in time I shall teach it to ou, but now, I have prepared you're room, it is the room on your right hand side, when you go into the side corridor, in the first floor, I also strongly advice you to go and rest now, and come back here later, as you need some sleep now".

An excellent start to chapter 2. It's good to see Telina and Baladas getting along so well. I will be looking forward to Telina learning telepathy; I can't wait to see her use that against Gothren. (I think it would be a great way to tell what spells are going to be cast so that Telina could more easily protect herself---wink,wink). Keep up the great work.

It took me quite some time to read all of the last chapter and the beginning of this one but I finally accomplished it and I must say that I'm impressed by the unique way that Telina handles characters of the game, her actions are true to her personality and that's what makes this story good.

Patiently awaiting the next update.

¨HeHe....nice start Tellie! As I mentioned I kinda like the relation between Telina and Baladas...! It adds some excitement in the story.

Hmmm....I´m getting more and more eager to update Serene now.....*sigh* I just wish I´d have the time to sit down and do it....

Nice story so far. I like it. The telepathy thing sounds interesting, though I do hope it is something that can be turned off. I think it is hard to get a decent rest if people are constantly screaming in your mind. Hmm, Ordinators. I wonder what they are. Sounds like some kind of elite guard. *makes mental note to go to Vivec some day for sightseeing.*

I walked back down through Arvs-Drelen, and on my way towards my room, I met one of Baladas servants.

-"Oh hello, Ser Delvanni, my name is Lahwati Druulena, I'm a hireling in the house", she was actually a very nice woman, and she had served Baladas the last thirty years.

-"Oh, well I'm Telina as you obviously know, I'm pleased to meet you, you wouldnt happen to have some tea around would you"?

-"Why sure we have, just go to your room, and I'll be back shortly".

I walked on, and soon found my room. It was quite big, and in it was a large cosy bed, stuffed with many blankets and pillows, and beside the bed, up agains the wall, was a large bookshelf. I nearly fell over with glee, when I saw all the interesting books there. There was also a large closet, where I could keep my clothes, a nice round table with a couple of chairs, and in the corner, there was a shelf where I could keep my armour and weapons.

I had just taken off my armour, and made sure all my weapons was on the shelf, when Lahwati, came in with a tray, filled with different kinds of food, two cups, and a large tea can.

We had quite a happy hour, and I ate more pleasurably than I had ever done before in my life. We discussed each other's background, and after one hour, I nearly fell over by tireness, so Lahwati Took up the tray with the remaining food, the cup's and the can, and walked out.

I laid myself into the warm, cosy and slightly fluffy bed, and fell asleep almost instantly.

Me and Haldin, entered the room of the Night-Mother....Proxima. We bowed our heads, and announced ourselves.

-"You called for us, mistress" said Haldin.

-"Yes, my faithfull servants. "In the province of Morrowind, we have three high members, one of them is placed in Mournhold, the other one is one of the highest memberrs of the imperial legion, stationed on the island of Vvardenfell, the last one have been stationed by the king of Morrowind himself, to become one of the ruling members of Vvardenfell".

-"But lately, they have started to faulter, and are sometimes even failing theur missions, YOU Haldin, shall travel over there, and if they starts to faulter again, you are given direct command of the brotherhood assassins, so that you may kill these leaders, and take command yourself".

-"You Telina, my closest friend, you I have other plans for": "I'm getting weak and old, I wish that you are to become the new Night-Mother of the brotherhood, after I retire". "But before I retire I have some things to fix up first, so in two months, you will overtake command of the brotherhood". "Now go".

Me and Haldin, left her, and Haldin gathered up his gear, and I followed him towards the shipyard some five hours later. I had tears in my eyes, beacuse I knew that our relationship would end here, with him going to Vvardenfell, and I had to stay here.

-"Telina, my love, I have to leave now, but I promise that I shall come back for you, later". "All I want you to do now, is to be brave, and never forget me", he barely managed to hold back the sorrowness in his voice when he talked, but the tears, he could not stop, from falling down.

I did not even think, or care about the fact that several hundreds of people was around us. I took my hands around his face, and kissed him. I do not know how long we kissed, all I knew was that when the ship sailed into the horison, I felt more sad and terrible that I had ever felt before.

When I got back to the head quarters. one of the Masters, approached me, with a letter in his hands.

-"Telina, thank goodness, you're here, we have been given a top priority mission, that has to be done within two hours, you have to assassinate, the lord of Chorrol, he is the cousin of the Emperor, and he is in his villa, here in the town, but in two and a half hours from now, the imperial guard will come, and escort him up to the palace".

With that I woke up, and I had tears in my eyes, with the thought of Haldin. Just one hour after I had been given that mission, I were on my way to prisin unconcious, for later been sendt to Morrowind. In that moment, I woke up in my bed, and thought of the memory I had just relived in my dreams, I sveard an oath to Azura, to exterminate the Dark Brotherhood.

After that, I fell into a dreamless sleep.


Oh my that was longer than I thought, enjoy.

Yawn. What, it's morning already?

Ok, I won't bother people with sleeping problems. Nice part on explaining her history a bit more. So she swore to take out the Brotherhood, but Haldin is still in it. Conflicting loyalties, that makes for an interesting read.

Ohh I like the New thread for chapter 2, very well done and a nice start. Maby later on you'll elaborate more on Haldin? Perhaps Telendil will meet him?

Oh I hope it´s Telina who will meet him and not Telendil herself!

Yes yes let´s hope we´ll get to hear more about this young lady´s adventures reeeeeeally soon....

Great update as usual, I enjoy the emotion put into the characters in this story and the main character's thoughts and feelings are described a bit more with each update. Patiently waiting.

More intriguing backstory for Telina; I will look forward to hearing more about her past. It seems that she has made a new friend in Baladas' household; I wonder if her new friend will have some important role to play?

Hi, jus want to tell you, that I have schedueled updates at tuesday, friday and maby sundy, but tuesday and friday are definatly new updates ( on the night though my time ).

Phew!....You are amazing! How the **** do you do it? Every update of mine is preceeded by lot of thinking and considering, then during writing i often get to think of some other plot or event that has to go in...and then RL comes running and takes control.....hmmmmm

But I´ll ait eagerly of your updates.....hehe you´ll probably get your story finished before I even get to the end of chapter 4!

I am really enjoying this story as well as a handful of others. I am so glad I had found this forum it really gets me pumped for Oblivion and allows everyone to tell some stories. Great job so far and I can't wait to read on

HEHE......i think you would like to know how I do it minkey. Well, university is not so hectic at the moment, and right now i'm off from work, but that is something I'm gonna tell you about later. Well, when I'm home,without nothing to do, i often sit down, and does a small brainstorm, cutting out the ideas I dont like to have in right then, and then I write it for hand, before posting it, just in case I like to change something. Sometimes, I have just been winging it, but most of the time, it takes about three or four hours planning and writing before i actually type it in, so you might just say that i have little to do at the moment. I'm actually starting to plan another story, that will go in parralell with this one, but I dont know when I'll start writing it. hope this explained a bit to you.....Oh my that was a long one.



I woke up,this early Tirdas mornung, and it took me a long time to realise that it was my birthday today, i was turning twenty-four.
After dressing, i walked up to Baladas, who had aleredy gotten the table ready, and on it, was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen....a cake.

-"Good morning my child, happy birthday", he said smiling. i did not even bother to ask him how he knew.

I was about to ask if had made the cake himself, when he answered that one as well. "Yes, that one I made myself, I mean you deserved something special, after all you been through".

I was completely astonished by the kindness of this old man. He was feared by all people in the proximity of some six-hours walk from here,sake for those who knew him.

we ate our breakfast, and had a quite joyfull time. After that i was given presants, the first one was a fine dress sowed by lahwati, and from Baladas, wery young nephew i were given, some twenty self-enchanted scrolls. But the most exiting one had to be the one from Baladas.

first, i was given a big friendly hug, and then a pair of shoes, who made me jump much higher, an amulet who would paralyze my enemies for more that a minute,while giving them frost damage as well, and then came the last presant....

-"Telina, before your grandfather died, he gave me this paper, which is his will. "the first part say's :

-"Which means that you are now the owner of about fivehundred-thousand septims Telina". "As you increase in the house, you will be given moreof old Salendil's will", Baladas looked at me in a manner that showed that he enjoyed himself to the limit, when he was allowed to give such a happy presant to someone he cared about.

I had lost my word, I did notunderstand that it was possible to have so much money. In the end I managed to speak again, and after thanking Baladas, and the others for the presants, i explained to him that I wanted to go on a shopping trip to a town somewhere.

-"Telina, I have another mission for you, before you can go out on that possibly day's long shopping trip", he smiled as he said this.

-"In the Grazelands, there are two ashlander tribes, one of them is the Ahemmusa tribe." "It is located at the topof the grazelands, nearly at the shore".

-"I want you to go there and help the poor ashlanders out for a while, as they need all the help they can get, and it will also change your point of view". "while you're there, you willmost likely meet a friend of mine named Serene, she is an imperial woman, who will most likely treat you quite good".

-"Since it has been over a year since we parted, i have missed her birthday, so I would like you to give her this presant here". "After you have arrived there, you must help them as good as your skill are, and stay there for half a year, spend a little of each day, poundering of the meaning of yourselves here on Vvardenfell".

Before I walked out, we spent an hour togehter, and he learned me some new spells, and thaught me a whole lot more about the skill of Destruction, Illusion and Restoration. I was sad when i walked out from him, as i realised that it would be over half-a-year before we could meet again.

With me I had only my two staffs, and the skull chrusher. And after a while thinking of my role in this world i transported me to Vos.

There, I went over to the bank of Vvardenfell, to make a deposit.

-"So, you want to maken a deposit, from the account of Salendil Delvanni, eh, well you're allowed to do that if you can prove that the account will go over to you".
I showed the will of my grandfather to the bankier, and I was allowed to take out some money. 50.000 septims richer in a chest, I started towalk towards the Ahemmusa tribe.

It was just around dusk, when I saw the tents of the Ahemmusa tribe.

-"Hold it right there outlander", a angry voice came out towards me, and three archers stepped out against me, pointing at me with drawn bows.

-"What are you doing here outlander, we dont allow scum like you here".

-"I'm here to talk to your Ashk".......SMACK! I found myself laying on the ground, blood dripping from my mouth. I stood up, and the mer punched against me again, but this time I was ready. I quickly sidestepped him, and took the staff of magnus, in front of his throat.

-"I'm here on official Telvanni buisness, and understand that a woman named Serene is staying here, take me to her now", I said, and right after that, I was clubbed over the head, and fell into unconsiousness.

That was all for today.

Nice update, 500k is alot of money and I hope she will spend it well. Oh yes and the idea of her living with the Ahemussa around Serene is very interesting, I can't help but wonder how things will play out.

Edit: The ashlanders didn't give her such a warm reception...I do hope she's treated better in the next update.

Uhhhhh.....where are their manners? The Ahemmusa warriors should know better than knock down an innocent woman.....even if she´s a Telvanni!

Now then....it must have been Zallit again I reckon, he really is a hot-headed young man.....but he should know better by now....I think Serene has to have a talk with him!

I soon woke up though, and found myself sitting on my knees, with three spears pointing at me.

-”You outlander” the one who had hit me first said. ”Did you say that you wanted to deliver something to Serene”

-”No,I was only playing jokes, and hoping that you would die from laugh”, I snapped at him, and clearly he felt more than less intimidated, as all of them stepped back a little. ”But now that I think over it,I’d rather go and see your Wise Woman, and see what she has to say to this.

Two of the ashlanders, followed me towards the largest tent, that stood away from the other tents, to show it as something for itself. The ashlanders, indicated that I should og in, and while they stood guard outside, I went into the tent. It was a dark tent, filled with…power, at the other side of the tent, stood an old woman, who’s inner power, virtually poured out from her. I bowed deep and adressed her.

-”Wise Woman of the Ahemmusa tribe, I’m sent here bytt he telvanni master Baladas, to stay in your camp, and help you with my best of abilities”. With me I have a letter from Baladas explaining everything, and also i bring from my own inspiration, 50.000 drakes, that can be used to help the tribe, with getting food, new fabric, more land, and also bartering capabilities, do you accept my humble gift”?

She first took up the letter, and read it some times, before making up her desicion.

-”Yes, Telina, I accept your gift, you’re welcome to stay as long as yourself want, but you have to getyour own tent”. ”Oh, I reckon that Zallit have been a little rash again, he will be dealt with, my name is Sinnammu Mirpal, and I understand, that you’re seeking Serene, she is in the tent, right on the left side of this tent”.

I tanked her, and went out again. I soon found Serene’s tent, and I walked innside.

"I great you lady.....what brings you here? Please have a seat...I´ll prepare some comberry-juice for you, you must be very thirsty....!"

Oki,here it is at last, a new update on your favourite story ( or so I hope ). Hope you like it.


When I entered the tent, I saw an imperial woman, just a few years older than myself, she had some astonishing dark blue, nearly amethyst coloured eyes, that was looking on me with a slight surprise, of me entering her tent. She brushed her auborn hair away from her face, and asked me.

-"Hail Stranger, who might you be and what brings you to the Ahemmusa Camp?"

-"Oh, my name is Telina Delvanni, mouth of house telvanni, I was sent here by Baladas, to give you a late birthday presant, and to live and help the tribe for some time". "I come from Cyrodiil, but I dont want to tell about my background beacuse of earlier events.....not now at least, maby later".

-"You come from Baladas Demnevanni, in Gnisis? Oh I do hope he´s ok!!"

-"Oh yes, he's doing just fine, he actually wanted me to bring you this, it's a late birthday presant".

She unwrapped her presant, and out from it, fell two books.
-"Oh thanks", she gave me a big hug, and thanked me over and over again, so she clearly liked the gift very much.

"Now let me see to those wounds of yours, so there won´t be any scars in your sweet face" With those words Serene gently put her hands on my face, I then felt the healing energy flow, closing the wounds.

-"Thanks", I said, and when I touched my face, the large bruise was gone.

We spent a few happy hours together, discussing several things about the tribe, the different houses and guilds. We drank some comberry juice, and we started a discussion about the kindness of Baladas. We discussed hair styles, and the Serene, directed me to go to a hairdresser in Balmora, who had done her hair.

I was sad when I had to leave her, since it had become late, and since I didnt have a tent, I would have to go to a place so that I could get somewhere to sleep. I marked my location, and translocated me to Arvs-Drelen, to get a little nap in my room.

From downstairs, I hard the creaking sound of the door getting opened, and being quickly closed again. Now I regretted that I had not taken a dark brotherhood helmet, along with the rest of the armour. But I hid behind my closet, and two assassins entered my room, walked over to the bed, and almost as commanded by a higher power, the stabbed down in perfect unison.

I ran out from my hiding spot, closed the door, and said the password, that would activate the trap set upon the door, next time someone would open it, the would find themselves in tiny pieces.

I moved on, and saw that maby as many as five, entered the room of Lawhati, and without thinking, I threw a small key at one of them, while screaming on them.

They turned around, and now headed towards me....oh no I hadnt thought on that. Two large screams sounded behind me, followed by the sound of something large and icy, shatter on the floor. My smile quickly vanished though, as more assassins, had started to walk towards me, and I had six crossbows, aimed straight towards me.

It was in this moment, Baladas chose to appear, and all the kindness in his eyes, was replaced by century old hatred. Sparks was swirhling around him, and the wery walls, was humming by electrofying statics. And with a single extension of his hand, fierce lightnings, poured out from his fingertips, and the assassins, was incinerated within seconds.

I was breathing heavily, as I understod how close to death I had been, but again the god's had spared me...why. Baladas, looked on my, and then inside my room. The floor was littered by small pieces of half frozen flesh, and the blood was slowly running out over the floor, and with a single hand motion, the mess on the floor was gone.

-"Telina, I did not expect you back right now, but it was a welcome visit, I ensure you, would you be so kind to acompany me up to my study"? We walked up, and sat down by the table, while he poured some flin into a glass for me, I poundered how he had been able to use those spells.

-"Sorry Baladas, I did not mean to interrupt you in your studies", I said blushing, as I realised if I had just used a little tactic, I might have managed to stop those myself.

-"Ah dont worry my child, but I was believe it or not, actually sleeping, so tomorrow, I'd rather you wake me up in a more peacefull way" he was smiling widely, as he said it, and I understood right away that it was one of his usual jokes.

-"But, you wonder how I manage to use spell without even saying the incantations"? "Well, it's called non-verbal spells, it can be used at all spells, and it gives you an advantage as your enemy dont know that you're going to cast a spell, before it is cast". "But, it is far more difficoult, and you have to be a very skilled magician, to do it, but in time I shall teach you that as well".

He then told me to get back to bed, as I needed my sleep, if I was to go out on a shopping trip tomorrow, before returning to the ashlanders. And after thinking of how to best get rid of the brotherhood, I fell asleep.

Hope this satisfied you a bit, you'll propably get some more on sunday.

Hehe cool. Interesting that serenes in it too, Ive been following that story too, it'll be interesting to see how minque percieves telina in serenes story.

This part was very well done and I loved to see Baladas' true power in your story, simply astonishing description of the event. I liked the bit with Serene as well, it seems that Serene has appeared in several stories over the course of Minque's writing and this adds one to it. Very good writing as always and I'll be patiently Waiting4Updates.

Anyways Tellie´s made it again, a very interesting update....and mind you, I´m not saying this because Serene´s in this one too!!! This story is really a very well written one, so Norway is apparently a country full of good writers still!

Hmm strange, Serene appears in a couple of stories here....I wonder why, could it be her personality? Her looks? Anyway I´m very flattered that you guys want to include her. It makes me feel special!

Yikes, I've got to remember to stay away from Baladas when I'm on Redoran bussiness. That guy is though. Now where did all those assasins come from? I never saw anything close to an assasin.

The assassins are the Dark Brotherhood....if you have Tribunal installed they appear...quite randomly IMO.

Hi, today comes a long one, and you'll also get to see a bit more of Telina's cleverness. Enjoy

It was still early on the morning when I left Arvs-Drelen. I was stroding in the streets of gnisis, when I saw a nice dress. It reached nearly down to my shoes. The hem, had words written in ancient Dunmeri, and it was written with gold. The colour itself was dark blue, and it had some wery intricate patterns, woven with the finest of silver silk. The patter, shoved a picture of the ancient heraldry of lord Nerevar, and the three tribunal god's Ayem, Vekh and Seth. The byttons consisted of small diamonds, and a little pattern of diamonds, shoved the sun, it was made up with emeralds. And a large ruby necklace followed with it.

Naturally I bought it straight away, and some six-hundred septims poorer, I walked on with a beautifull dress made of sateng and a dashing ruby necklace.

When I arrived in Ald-Rhuun, I was walking down the street, intent of finding a shop that sold wilderness equipment. Several men, even the redoran guards that had called me scum or telvanni, turned their heads when I walked past, someone even wolf-whistled, and I knew then that I was propably a very atractive woman, when not covered in blood; gore or messed up clothes. I smiled, at the thought of only my looks having that effect on men, after a little training, imagine what I could do with my voice.

After two hours, I found the shop, and the shopkeeper Melinin, an aged Altmer, was more than happy to have a fellow mer visit his shop. He invited me to have a little lunch, and I did'nt turn him down. He turned out to be an exellent cook, and he served us some delicately guar steak, with mashed ash-jam and fried kwama eggs on a very good tasting bread. Along to drink, he had some good tasting corkbulb wine, that was bottled some sixty years before.

He was a nice mer, one that was to become a good friend of mine. He taught me much about Ald.Rhuun and the areas around, the redorans, and their principles, and told me that if I ever was to visit Ald-Rhuun again, I had to stop by. When I left him some five hours later, I had aquired a large tent, some hundred feet's of ropes, a big and a small shovel and a pick. All, which I had gotten immensly cheap. I arrived the ashlander camp at nightfall, and after a little chatting with Sinnamu, of where I could set up My tent, I fell into a heavy sleep, in my warm and cosy tent.

Next morning, I paid Serene a little visit, and we sheared a small breakfast, consisting of some kind of...stew. It was actually good, and even more, I was full of renued vigour. The rest of the day, I spent with the ashlanders, learning of how to make new clothes, and similar things. I had just finished the stitching on my pants made of kagouti skin, reinforced with chitin greaves, when i was told that the Wise-Woman wanted me. I laid my pants down in Nammu's tent, the one who had tought me of how to make clothing and other things. And then I walked into the tent of Sinnamu.

-"Ah Telina, here you are again, I wish to make you a clan-fried of the ashlanders, but in order to do so, you must go through the rite of initiation". "Far to the north of here, there is an island named Dagon-Fel." "On that island, there is and old dunmer fortress called Rotheran".

-"Two days ago, some of our hunters was captured by the inhabitants of Rotheran, so I want you to rescue them".

I stared at her for a minute. She wanted me to go into an old fortress filled up with kidnappers, and get out the captured ashlanders, she was mad.

-"Is it any reason, why I have to do this and not someone else better that me in fighting"? I asked, with a slight harshness in my voice.

-"Telina, we need someone who can talk for themselves, and we ashlanders are not always so good at that, as you might recall". "And precisely the leader there is a former high-ranking telvanni, so your position in the house might help a bit".

What she said made sense, I could talk to someone from house telvanni, if I just usedmy head, in the proper way, so I translocated me to Ald-Rhuun, and I bought a new woid-walk spell, set upon Rotheran, and with that I transported me to the ancient fortress. When I arrived there, I saw a group of imperials, moving hastily towards me, weapons swhirling from their scabbards.

-"Wait, I come here on the behalf of house telvanni", I shouted, and the imperials, scheated their weapons. A quick chat with them, told me that they were witch-hunters, sent to root out the fortress. We discussed the matter a bit, and we decided, that if I failed to persuade them from attacking the villages and pilgrims around here, they was to attack them. It was with no little amount of nerves, I knocked on the door.

-"Who are you"? said a voice from inside, and it was clearly running with intimidation.

-"I'm Telina Delvanni, mouth of house telvanni, I wish audience with your telvanni master, imedietly".

After telling me to wait, he vanished from sight, and a few minutes later, he emerged outside the door, with the mer, who aparently was the telvanni, and another one...a dunmer carrying a huge sword that was glittering of barely contained frost enchantment, and a beautifull robe, with a lot of yellow and blue stripes, and red as tha main colour, it was shimmering in a clear green colour that indicated that a wery powerfull enchantement was put upon it.

-"Hello, mouth Delvanni", he embraced me, and when he let go, he allowed a huge grin slip over his face.

-"I'm a spellwright of the house, I was about to be advance to a wizard, when the duke refused to give me a construction contract, and I was forced to save up money to buy one, as he requested me to pay him a-hundred-thousand septims for it".

-"The only way I could think of, was to gather my lifelong friends, and take residence here, and start to rob people, kidnap them and demand ransom, and those things". "Over the years, more and more people joined us, all of them had, had a tough life and had been done wrong upon, so I took them in, and allowed them a place to stay". He was clearly regretting his deeds, beacuse he couldnt even meet my eyes, when he talked to me.

-"Well, I'm sent here by the ashlanders, to get back two ashlanders who was taken prisoners, but now as I think on it, stop the whole operation, or these
witch hunters will attack you", I did not command him or anything, it was nothing but a friendly advice, and I saw him smile to me, and he finally desided.

-"My name is Elwin", he shook my hand, and then started talking again. "The ashlanders shall be free no matter what, but if you want me to stop completely with my other operations, you will have to face my champion Llaren Terano, in a single duel, inside the arena".

We walked into the arena, the mer's was booing on me, and cheering on Llaren, but I guessed that it was normal. We entered the pit, and I saw a large dish, filled with powdered chalk, and I literally covered my hands in it. I then walked into the middle, and shook hands with Llaren, I was surprised, that the fact we was supposed to kill eachother, he was friendly towards me.

-"Nothing personal mouth", he said, "may the best one win", I could do nothing but nod to him, as I steeled myself for the fight.

We stepped away from eachother, and in perfect unison, our weapons, slashed out frow our scabbards. I wielded the staff of magnus, the the Skullchrusher, and the silver staff of peace, was leaning agains the wall, in case i dropped the staff of Magnus.

He came towards me, and his huge blade, descended, from an over-head chop. I barely managed to get away from the heavy blade, and before the chop was even finished, he had swung around and the blade came swashing towards my waist. I blocked it with the staff, but the force of the impact, made me stagger backwards, and seeing my weakness, he pressed on.

Hit after hit, came my way, and all I could do was to dodge, duck or block. I never got a single chance of making an attack at him, it seemed as his speed was immensly boosted. But after five minutes of a never ending series of attacks, his green robe, suddenly stopped glowing, and he became much slower, the robe aparently increased his speed, but now it was exausted, now it was my turn....

I suddenely struck out towards his head, he deflected the hit with his sword, but I had been ready for it, and with a furious backhanded slash, the staff hit him in his back. He fell headlong onto the ground, and as I tried to smash the staff into his head, he turned around, and with all of his strenght, he hit the staff, I lost my grip, and it flew through the air.

He got up, and started to swing, slash and thrust his mighty blade towards me,and all I could do, was to roll, duck, sidestep and jump, hoping he would not hit me.
Suddenly, I felt the blade,give me some large cuts in my back, left arm, and the left side of by torso. I screamed as the ribbs cracked, and I fell screaming to the floor...

I lay upon my back, I held my left hand on my side. He placed his foot upon my chest, and took the mighty blade into a downwards facing position. I held my hand outstretched towards the Skullchrusher, but there was no way I could reach it, as it was on the opposite side of the room. I was thinking " come on, come on, come to me".

Suddenly, I felt it...I felt the ancient hammer, and I did not even have to shout at it. It flew straight into my hand, and just as my enemy stabbed the huge sword down towards my chest, I swung the powerfull hammer with all my force, into the knee of the mer standing above me. He screamed as the hammer reduced the bones in his knee to nothing more than dust, and ripped of muscles, as he flew almost fourteen feet away by the force of the impact.

I rose up, and picked up the shiny blade. I gasped as I felt the magnificent power of this blade, and I realised that if I had gotten a direct hit on me with this blade, my torso would have laid in a mass of broken ice pieces on the floor. I limped over to where the wounded mer was laying, and placed the tip of the sword upon his throat.

-"Kill me Delvanni", he gasped, "I always knew that i would once be felled by a powerfull individual, like yourself".

I removed the sword, and said to the crowd.

-"This mer accepted defeat, but this does not have to end with death of another individual, I have won, but I will not kill him, this fight is over".

It was silent for almost a minute,before the crowd screamed out in applause for me, and soon the name "Delvanni" was roaming through the huge stonehall. I walked over to Llaren, and with all of my greatest effort, I managed to heal all of his wounds then mine. After that I handed him back the sword-hilt first.

-"No", he said. "This is The Ice Blade Of The Monarch, you beated me in a fair fight, I'm in debt to you, and the first step along the way to repay my debt is this, you keep the blade". With that, he unlocked all the prison cells, and allowed the prisoners to walk away.

Elwin came back down, a look of total surprise was over his face.

-"I've never seen anything like that, you spared the life of an enemy, so that he stood in debt to you". "When someone owes you their life, you have and advantage, and that gives you power". "To think like that, you must have lots knowledge and wisdom, through knowledge and wisdom you get power, I shall stop these raids, if there is anything I can do for you, mention it, and I shall gladly do it".

I thinked upon it for a while, before I came up with an idea.

-"The land of which this fortress stands upon, is owed by the Ahemmusa tribe, buy the land that the fortress stands upon, and the land around, and make this your stronghold, with that, you can advance even further in the house, and also I need every ally I can get in the house, let's become allies", the look of surprise left him, and was replaced by a huge smirk, that stretched from one side to the other of his face.

-"Good idea, I promise that i shall make this my stronghold,and I shall support you in the house, and I shall help the Ahemmusa tribe from the best of my efforts".

With that we parted, and I found the ashlanders, one of them was the one who had punched me the first time i came to the camp, he stepped out, a look of fright was over his face.....

-"Delvanni, forgive me for my earlier attitude agains you, from now on, i shall be Zallit, forever your friend, and if I, in life or death can protect you, I shall. I shall give life to you, i shall never forget you my friend",he said, and his voice told me that he was really sorry for what he had done.

-"Zallit, I forgive you, and i accept your friendship, now lets get out of here".

I grasped the hand's of Zallit, and the other ashlander, whose name was Nammannumin, and transported ourself back to the camp. When we arrived, we enterd the tent of Sinnamu, and explained everything that had happened.

-"Well, I'm glad that you returned safely, and I'm also glad that you two", she indicated at me and Zallit, " have squeared up, and fianally have become friends".

She then told everyone in the camp to assemble for a feast outside, and after many hours, she explained my adventure to Rotheran and that she had sold that land around Rotheran to the telvanni there. And finally, she told me to kneel, and she said a prayer to Azura, and then the words came, but in another voice, in Azura's voice.... "Rise Telina Delvanni, clan-fried of the ashlanders. I shall never leave you, but instead I shall be with you...always."

Very good, I liked the way the character spared the life of her enemy rather than killing him like most would have done. Nicely written and very well described, thanks for another wonderful update.

I have now fixed most of, if not all of the spelling/grammar mistakes in the above post.

A nice bit again. And yeah, I admit I'm one of those fellows who is all "don't start a fight but always finish one with the opponent in little pieces." Only in Morrowind though, in real life I would run like hell.

Hi...sorry for the long absence of postin, but I've been very busy lately, so I hadnt got much time to post at the forum, but now here it is.

PS: Mr.Oven...thanks for waiting4updates..hehe.

I woke up, the sound of birds singing, guars grunting and men screaming..."what's happening now", I murmured, as I got into my dress.

When I came out, one of the ashlanders, I think his name was something like Mabbalel, or something like that. At least, he was standing, and panting heavily, while talking about having seen someone taking Serene as a prisoner.

I grew angry, so I walked into the tent of Sinammu, to persuade her to letting me talk to the kidnappers.

-"Yes", she said, "go right away, they headed into the east".

With that, I went into my tent, and took with me my newly aquired blade, and my trusty old Skullchrusher. I ran out from the camp, following the directions given by Sinammu, but after two hours of running in the grazelands, I realized, that I had been running south, and not east. "DAMN IT", I shouted out with the full force of my lungs, and I then kicked a stone, in hope of getting out some of my anger on that one. All I got was a large broken toe, which I was nearly uncapable of standing on.

After some few minutes, I realized that I needed some rest, so I took up residence in a nearby tomb. Five munutes later, the tomb was quite empty of stupid ghosts and angry skeletons, so I laid myself down against the shrine.

I woke up, as I heard the sound of a dart flying towards me, I rolled to my side, and dodged the dart with some millimetres of clearence. I stood up, the Ice Blade of the Monarch, hissing from my scabbard. Out from the darkness came not one...but twelve Dark Brotherhood assassins, all was pointing some unpleasantly sharp looking daedric shortswords at me.

-"Give up Delvanni, and we shall give you and easy death", said the leader, in a veryoverestimated voice, clearly he didnt know who he was dealing with.

-"Oh yeah, well point that thing somewhere else", and with that, I jumped forward, and struck the heavy blade into his helmet.

He fell to the floor, and his entire body was thrashing back and forth, and before the other ones had started to react, I had swung the sword left, and after that, stabbed backwards. The sound of two bodies falling to the floor, screaming in pain, was wery stimulating, but my joy was soon replaced by...fear. I still had nine assassins to take care of, and I could only hold them of for so long, so I backstepped to a place where they could only fight me in pairs, but I was trapped.

I had despatched another one, when I suddenly saw some of them draw crossbows, but out from the door where they had come from, ran out another one in their armour, and he had thrown darts all over the place, and soon only three assassins was left. I fell upon them again, the Ice Blade, heaving and falling, and soon the assassins were dead. I looked down on my sword, the blood was still running down, against it's length, and I then looked at the assassin, who had saved me. He had removed his mask, and I nearly fell over with shock, it was Haldin.

-"Haldin, what are you doing here"?, I said as I flung myself around his neck, and kissed him.

-"I knew about the mission that was given to the other assassins, and I could not let you die, so I followed them", he managed to tell me, before we were tightly embraced and kissing again.

-"But now, I must leave you again", he said after a few wonderfull minutes, of kissing, "The leader, will get suspicious, if he find out that I'm gone". And before I had even managed to protest, he had teleported away.

I cried again, as I realised we would not get to be much together, like normal...couples, and with that I fell asleep again. When I woke up again, I walked further into the tomb, to do a little exploring, some ten minutes later, I was standing and looking totally swept away. I had found the bow of shadows, the real Bow of shadowas was mine...I could not understand why I was getting so...many items of interest, but well, finders keepers, so with that, I walked out with a brand new bow, two new daedric shortswords, and a whole bunch of enchanted arrows.

I had been out looking for about an hour, before I found Serene. She was tied up to a tree, with an arrow standing in her back, and I was glad that she had been blindfolded as well, as she would not have liked to see what I saw. Three meanlooking pricks, standing around her, beating her up and calling her...things!!!

Then, Something...strange...happened, I could feel one of the ashlanders, feel his mind..his thoughts, and I liked it....

-GET AWAY FROM HER, YOU FILTHY SACK OF GUAR DROPPINGS-, i yelled, but the strange thing, was that only one turned away, and was looking dumbfounded around the area, and then I knew what I had done...I had performed telepathy!!!!!!

Then, I knew what to do. If I could feel him, maby I could...torment him. So I began to instruct his mind, into doing things, and after what seemed almost a minute, I had...controll of him..of his thoughts, and actions, so I used my advantage over him.

-"Kill your comrades", I told him forcefully, "KILL THEM NOW".

And then, he had stabbed his spear into the gut of one of them, and plunged a dagger into the neck of another, then, after he had done that, my magicka had clearly run out, and he was running up towards me. I unscheated my bow and took aim, and fired...and fired again...and again, after having used up thirty of my forty arrows, I hit him in the eye, and he was dead before he hit the ground.

I ran down to Serene, who was mumbling about things that I couldnt catch.

-"It's ok Serene, I've got you, I've got you". I managed to unstrap her from the tree, and remove the blindfold, but she was clearly more that less still unconsious, so I instead got out the arrow.

I looked at the wound, and realised that it far beyond my skills to heal, and I only knew of one healer...Baladas. I drank some restore magicka potion, and translocated myself into Baladas study.

-"Baladas, Its Serene, she have been wounded", I yelled, and he quickly reacted.

-"Telina, tell me where she is, I do not want you to see what I'm gonna do with her, it might look kinda...grose".

I told him where to find her, and then I left him and returned to my bedroom down the hall, and fell into the soft pillows, and fell asleep instantely.

It would seem that Telina has an even greater power than even she knew, I really like the way you've managed to tie Minque's story into yours, it's probably hard to cooperate well with another writer but I think you two have pulled it off and I'll be looking forward to seeing this from Serene's perspective as well.

I gasped, and woke up suddenly, and then I looked around and found Baladas standing over me, with a sigh of relief he started talking to me.

-"Ah Telina, the telepathy you performed nearly killed you...your mind wasnt redy for it", he was still looking a little worried on me, although he had to be very relieved after I woke up.

-"But why, why did I know manage to perform it, just like that, and what happened to Serene"?

-"First, the reason you managed to do perform telepathy, is as I have told you, you are an immensly powerfull individual who by some mean is destined to greatness". "if you didnt know it, the day when you threatned Gothren, ha nearly pissed himself, so scared was he, several of the mouths told me that they became sick when they was close to you, those mouts happened to be the ones of Gothren and Neloth, since you hate those two, their moutths would become affected by your anger".

-"That clearly show that the power you radiate is very powerfull, but I do not know why you learn these things, without anyone teaching them to you...it's nearly like some higher force implants them into your mind...but since you are still just an elf, your mind gets troubles with handling it, but now as you have performed it, I shall teach you about telepathy".

-"Oh, yes Serene is perfectly safe, and if you want, you can visit her later this week", he smiled at me, and I understood that he was highly surprised with me.

We alked up towards his study, and while we walked I pondered with myself. Again Azura had told me something...saved me, why, why did she have any interest in me, I was an ex-prisoner, convicted for trespassing on royal grounds, and I had also killed several guards, in that episode, I just didnt get it.

We got up, and had a little breakfast, before Baladas started to explan about telepathy.

-"Telina, telepathy is a difficoult thing to perform, it requires strong mind-power, and a will to be able to hurt yourself, or your victim". "To perform it on an enemy, is not so difficoult, as you have to want to hurt him...want to break into his mind..read his inner thoughts, his biggest secrets, his feelings, and do him....pain".

-"When you do it on a friend, it requires the most strongest of mind and will, as you have to be willing to risk and hurt yourself, with the facts you might discover, and you can hurt your frien, as the friend trusted you, to keep his or her memories and feelings alone".

-"You have seen that you can control people, to do that against someone like, Gothren for example, would be nearly impossible for even the best, but you can still mess up his mind, by telling him things, saying things and so, that is the whole principle and point of telepathy, now all I can do, is to watch you do it, I cant help you more with that matter, it's all up to you, to become good at it", he smiled, and I realised that it would be difficoult, but the first step of getting even with Gothren, was well within my reach now.

-"Over to other things, the time for your promotion, is close, but before I can make you a wizard, you'll need to build a stronghold, so I recomend you to meet up with Llunela Hleran, she is the stronghold builder of the house, she lives at the telvanni hermitage, in the council hall, untill then, good luck".

I smiled, and bade him goodbye, before I translocated me to Sadrith-Mora, when I was there, I decided that I would like to try a little telepathy, when I entered the council hall. After walking for a few minutes, I finally stood before the huge mushroom building again, and with a huge smirk on my face, I entered.

Well, I know that I liked it. You explained telepathy quite far while still keeping that mysterious supernatural feel to it.

Just got caught up with all the posts I missed. The continued interplay between Telina, Serene, and Baladas brings a new depth to the story that is both unexpected and quite enjoyable. I've particularly enjoyed Telina's use of telepathy; I will continue to look forward to seeing how she uses it against Gothren (I think Telina has the skill to surprise even Baladas with the strength of her telepathy). Keep up the amazing work.

Here it comes, the update on your favourite story


When I stood there, inside the room, I noticed that the mouths of Gothren and Neloth, shrinked away from me, while their faces was contorting in sick spasms. I walked a little around the room, and started to break into the mind of Mallam Ryon, the mouth of master Gothren.

He was an...interesting subject, clearly he was...strange. He had secret plans about killing Gothren and taking controll himself, on the other hand, he was afraid of me coming to kill him later. I nearly started to laugh out loud, as I thought about that worthless individual commanding the house, if I became Arch-Magister, he was gonna go head first out of the house

-"Jump up and down...jump up and down, NOW" I told him with an angry tune.

After some seconds of commanding him to do it, he started to jump up and down, shaking his head, as to trying to get rid of something invisible, then he collapsed on his little platform, and started to vomit up whatever lunch he had eaten earlier. Then I decided that I had have enough fun for the day, so I walked out of the hall again, and ventured down to the hermitage. It took me five minutes before I found Llunela Hleran, and I could see why some people had called her crazy on my way down to her.'

She had a necklace of argonian teeth around her nack, and a carpet made of kahjiit fur, and it was with no small measurement of worryness that I adressed her. After some twenty minutes, we had come to an agreement, so I tried out the woid-walk spell to Ebonheart, to meet the duke and get an construction contract.

I arrived in a courtyard, with various imperial soldiers walking around. A little questioning and I was directed to a large castle, standing on the end of a little bridge. I walked out on it, and was stopped before the large oak door by a guard, in the same golden armour, as that one I had seen on the imperial who had given me my mission to visit Caius.

-"You there, what is your mission here...filth", he smiled at me, clearly happy with his insult.

-"I am here on official Telvanni buisness, I am a spellwright in the house, now get out of my way...guard", I snapped back with such furiousness that he grasped his sword, and mumbled something like "I didnt mean it like that", and then I walked into the great hall.

I was stunned by the largness of the room, the high arched roof, with highly decorated pillars around, showed that the duke lived in a highly luxurious state. The telvanni representant in the grand council, told me that the duke was in the second floor, and propably playing "who is the richest person here" type of game, so I understood he had a big attitude as well.

I found him, at the top of the stairs, with some other high standing persons around him, playing important.

-"Duke Dren, I'm Telina Delvanni, spellwright of house telvanni, I have come to request a construction contract to be issued, so that I may build a stronghold, will you issue one"? I crossed my fingers, just hoping that I had played humble enough.

But to my surprise he suddenly started to shake, he turned nearly ice white in his face, and swet started to run down his face, as though I had scared him.

-"W-W-What wa-was you-your n-n-name again"?, he asked with a weak and trembling voice.

-"Telina Delvanni, now will I get a construction contract or not"? I asked again, slightly more angry now.

He looked even more afraid, and as to confirm his fears, he looked over on an Imperial, who was nearly trembling more than himself, I really didnt understand what I had done to them.

-"NO, you will never have your house, scum, now leave me", he said with such an icy tone as possible, or so I thought.

I walked away, I realised that something was going on, but I just didnt know what, so after rummaging my sack, I finally found the bottle that was full of invisibility potion, then I drained it, and walked back into the room, where the duke stood.

I thought of him, inside my head I again and again watched the scene where he denied me the contract, then I felt ready to plunge into his toughts. I was looking in his mind, started to command his mind to show me any scenes that included me. After a little searching, I found something strange, I saw that back of a mer in ebony armour, talking to...assassins...Dark Brotherhood assassins. He commanded them to kill a person...me, he wanted my head on a plate, the assassins, bowed deep and left him, then he started to walk away, suddenly he turned around, and I saw the face of my enemy, the one who had told those assassins to attack me, was...Dren.

I vomited, and so the duke saw me, he dared to look me in my eyes, he said something, and two guards grabbed me, and threw me out of the castle, and I stood outside with that rude guard again.

-"So, had problems with the duke did we"? he smiled after his new insult.

-"Hey", I leaned over the battlements and looked down into the cliffs below, "do you see that, that man"?.

-"What"? he said, leaning over as well. "what man"?

-"That man I said", then I grabbed him by the neck, and flung him over the walls, he fell screaming down, and hist the water with an almighty splash. After a little time, I saw several slaughterfishes swim towards the spot, and then the sea was coloured red.

-"Twit", I said laughing. I couldnt believe that trick still worked, and then I translocated me back to Baladas.

Ok, thats all for today, but I advice you to check in both tomorrow and on sunday, as I have propably have updated again.

Ah, sorry I didn't comment on your last update I didn't notice that you had written more. Very nice Tellie, the character seems to have further developed her powers and I'm looking forward to the next update.

I believe the appropriate quote is: "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely." I can understand someone losing their cool every now and then, but Telina seems to have developed a sort of love for it. While this does make her fit very well into House Telvanni, where it seems everyone is always at someone else's throat in search of ever greater power, it does make her a somewhat less pleasant person to be around. I've always thought that it is probably a good thing the Telvanni are somewhat reclusive, because such flippant uses of power tend to act counter to the best interests of a population.
