Hi, all. I've suddenly started getting some strange behaviour from telekinesis, and was wondering if anyone else had seen something similar.
My character usually uses telekinesis for fetching down welkynd stones from high up in Ayleid ruins. I was going through the Vindasel ruins south-west of the Imperial City, and telekinesing welkynd stones as normal. However, when I was part-way through grabbing the 4 stones from the room with a poison vent trap in the middle, the spell suddenly stopped working. I could target the stones, and they'd glow purple when I cast, but the spell would then immediately stop.
After this had happened a few times, I found that I couldn't even always telekinese a random item such as a sword that I dropped on the floor right in front of me. After a few attempts, it finally picked up, but then when I tried lifting it up in the air, the spell would cancel once it was above roughly head height.
After trying a few more times, the game crashed to desktop.
The problem persisted in that location even after re-loading the game afresh. It also happened when I loaded the earliest saved game I've kept that has the telekinesis spell. However, after experiencing the problem, telekinesis seemed to be working normally again when I returned outside.
I'm not certain if the problem is related to that particular room in Vindasel, so if someone else was willing to try to reproduce the problem in their game, that would be much appreciated.
The alternative, to my mind, is that I might have been causing cumulative confusion to the game because of the way that I've been using telekinesis to grab welkynd stones, since I keep taking items that are currently under telekinetic control. Maybe I should cancel the spell with both buttons and drop the stones to the floor before taking them... although if I've already corrupted my save file, then I might be closing the barn door after the horse has bolted, as 'twere.
Edit: I should probably add that the specific spell I'm using is the Remote Manipulation spell, telekinesis in 10 feet for 20 seconds.
