OK guys - get describing your character. For e.g. fighter, mage, thief, Psycho, nice guy, midget, giant, gay, straight, anything. What weapon is your preference?

In RPG's I'm usually a fighter with a long sword who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. This time though I think I'll have a slight evil streak and use a longbow as well to pick of the bad guys from afar...
Fuzzy Knight
I think I will go with something between magic and fighter, I think I will lean most to magic because I get good in fighting anyway the way I play... smile.gif

His name is going to be Arneth and Redguard, just like my character in Morrowind, weapons... Well I dont know, I think I'll stick to somekind of blade, scimitar, katana, long sword or Claymore...

Just think of how pretty she will look when u mod her in Oblivion CS... Hehe :goodjob:
Be0wulF
Oh yeah, my dudes name. Hmmm something like Flavius Julius for an Imperial or Tenaka Khan for a Redguard maybe
Rane
Hmm... haven't made any final decisions when it comes to the name yet...

Anyway, this would be a rough summary:

Name: Hjogbar
Race: Nord
Class: Warrior

Basically, he's a lawful Nord who highly values honor. Haven't decided if he should get any magic skills yet...

Azura's Star
Well, there are two characters I enjoy RPing.

Fovyn Bero
-Male
-Dunmer
-Fovyn is a middle-aged scholar who dabbles a little in magic, but is mostly interested in knowledge. He is a former member of House Telvanni, but left due to idealogical differences. He has a scholar's rather than a worshipper's respect for the Tribunal, and he hates the Empire. If I'm ever RPing on the forums, this is my character.

Surryn Sarethi
-Female
-Dunmer
-Surryn is a young warrior who specializes in mobile combat, using light armor, swords, and some magic. She is a hereditary member of House Redoran, Athyn Sarethi's granddaughter, and a devout follower of the new Tribunal temple, although she leaned toward the Dissident Priests' side of things before the time of the Nerevarine. She's also not too fond of Cyrodiil. I will probably play Surryn first in Oblivion.
Be0wulF
I'm thnking this time about using medium class armour rather than heavy. I think a nice bit of chain or scale will do me nicely. What about you people - what armour with your character?
Rane
Daedric of course. devilsmile.gif So heavy.
jonajosa
Jojo
Male
High Elf

A freelance Adventurer who likes to get lost in the forests around him. Danger Prone guy. Has good relations with most of the townsfolk and is well know in the area around him. Hates Dunmer because they raided his town and slew all his pet animals. He seeks vengence.

Now this is interesting.....can you tell me more of her? who is her mother and father? Is it Varvusīs daughter then or is she the daughter of that unkmown daughter Athyn is referring to once.....
Aki
My first will be a fighter type, probablly a Dunmer or Khajiit, or maybe even Nord. If they have Werewolves, i'll undoubtly make a character for that, who will be a Dunmer, and probablly named Aki. He'll be a fighter-type, but with unarmored or with light armor. biggrin.gif

Afterall, you do not want to be caught in heavy armor like steel or iron or daedric when you're transforming. As one you run out of space...things get...cramped...

Ouch is all i can say.

Huh, I didn't even remember Athyn mentioning another child. Anyway, I was thinking she was Varvur's dauhter. Varvur is clearly not too mature in Morrowind, but if you add another twenty-six years (that seems to be the period of time between Morrowind and Oblivion), he could have a fairly young daughter. I tend to play Surryn as the "young idealist," type. Her mother (who is being made up on the spot) was a Morag Tong assassin, but was killed while attempting to execute a writ when Surryn was very young.
minque
ahaa very likely yes...could be so...now this interests me bcause in my story, posted here, there will be a lot of "Sarethi-lore" so to say... smile.gif
Channler
My dude, as always will be...

Name: Channler A'xavier Hadrian

Class: Normally a Knight, but have been experimenting with a spell sword

Race: Imperial

BIO: CAH is the honoured user son of Channler Hadrian. Channler Hadrian was a failed Neverine who lived a few years before the Prophecy's were complete.. Changed his name from Xavier to Channler

(In my game Nicholie Athaway was the Neravine.. kinda like that name)
Fuzzy Knight
My second character is going to be a Khajiit or Argonian anyway... :lickinglips:
DoomedOne
My first character is always a warrior but for my second one I'll go into telekinesis and stealth
Chumbaniya
I thought I'd go for an Argonian, but after toying around with more "human" races in Morrowind (with the better-heads mod running) I created a Breton mage I might use, a sort of traveller/freelance magic-weaver, which I can also use as a persona for writing the odd book or two for Tes F'ruum. I think I'll call him Alric Lycester and have him using alteration and conjuration rather than destruction.
Ambberfox
I wanna be a Khajiit again... Probably Battlemage....
MerGirl
*looks around* What? No one's going to play with Bosmer?

Usually, I play with a female Bosmer named Marigold in Morrowind. She is irresponsible as they come, and she'll steal anything for gold. biggrin.gif

If the character creation in Oblivion is really good, I'll probably play as a sweet female High Elf healer, a ditzy female Dunmer assassin, or a care-free female Bosmer thief.

I just can't wait! smile.gif
Ambberfox
MerGirl, where has your cute avatar gone? :lickinglips:
DoomedOne
My thief/telekinesis will be bosmer
MerGirl
MerGirl, where has your cute avatar gone? :lickinglips:
Uh, which one? tongue.gif

Anyway, two other things I'm sorta hoping for: better magic combat, and necromancy. Because IF (big if) there is a necromancy magic school, I'm DEFINITELY playing my young Breton necromancer Emma. :lickinglips:
minque
biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I canīt imagine a sweet lilīgirl like that be a NECROMANCER!!! ewww
MerGirl
Hey, she was raised by a Necromancer when she lost her parents to vampires, so it's only a matter of time. tongue.gif
jonajosa
I guess thats what happens when your raised by a person who likes to raise the dead.
minque
   i think itīs creepy this necromancer-stuff, canīt get the hang of it..hmm
jonajosa
I want to be able to do Necromancy in Oblivion. I think it would be a change in the game.
MerGirl
Well, she isn't so bad. She still has that "honor" and "life is valuable" concept jammed down her throat when she was still with her parents. She thinks people should value life---while they still can. And if you treat your life badly (like if you're a selfish or cold murderer or something), then you get your just desserts! tongue.gif She usually raises corpses of criminals, power-hungry evil mages, etc.
minque
ewww still creepy......i think you have to write a story about her.....she sounds ..hmm intriguing
MerGirl
ewww still creepy......i think you have to write a story about her.....she sounds ..hmm intriguing
I did write a rough draft quite awhile ago, but I don't think it's any good (because I didn't and still don't know much about lore), so yeah. That's not creepy. My old rough draft of when Celia married a vampire was creepy. (She's a curious girl after all). tongue.gif Well, not creepy, but still wierd nonetheless...
Aki
Bosmer, however, make terrible Necromancers, cause of that pesky "MEat mandate" they have to eat anything and everything theyh kill within three days.

Hard to raise anything non-skeletal that way. biggrin.gif
DoomedOne
Not all bosmer follow that rule. The more liberal ones that live in big cities tend to adapt more central culture.
Aki
Not all bosmer follow that rule. The more liberal ones that live in big cities tend to adapt more central culture.
Somehow i doubt that, its pratically areligious thing.

Its like tell a House Redoran Dunmer to take a leak in the Ash Pits in Ghostgate because the bathroom is already in use. tongue.gif
DoomedOne
there are plenty of exceptions to every race. many bosmer don't follow that law because frankly, it's sort of difficult to continue doing in big cities. It's like muslim women wearing the head thing (sorry if calling it that is offensive) though most muslim women in america still wear them,it's not really a convenience so a small fraction don't, especially if they've lived outside a muslim culture for enough generations.

Um, are you talking to me? :ashamed: Did I say a Bosmer necromancer? I'm pretty sure that I said Breton...

Anyway, not all members of a race follow the rules, I don't think. It's like saying every American is a meat-eater or something like that...
Anyway, my Lilim, Dunmer assassin, could care less about Dunmer tradition. tongue.gif

Yea, the thing about compaing RL to TES is this:

You could, in Morrowind strike a man down in cold blood so long as he punched you. Tes is a cold and barbaric world.

Ordinators will burn you at a stake for preaching the Nerevarine Prophecies.

Anyone acting against the flow of culture should keep in low key. Or have the ability to survive the consquences.
DoomedOne
Morrowind is quite different than cyrodiil, a much more open and accepting place. Obviously any bosmer would be outcast for not following the rituals, if this bosmer were living in his or her homeland. It's a rule for whever you go in the real world, and the pattern seems to have stayed true in transition to Tamriel. Cities are always more liberal, tolerant and accepting than rural areas. Cyrodiil is a giant melting pot of a city for different races and peoples, and as such many more bosmer feel at ease, just like dunmer would feel at ease, with religious stuff that could get them killed in more rural areas.
MerGirl
To Aki: Yeah, it (TES III) is a cruel and weird world all right. Someone could assassinate my low-level character in front of a citizen and they could care less, yet when my sister's character accidently picked up someone's silverware, eveyone in the entire bar stabbed her character to death. *giggles*

But you are right, the TES people seem to be very strict on conforming... Which is why my Necromancer would have a lot of trouble in Morrowind. :ashamed:

Oh, but its still a Medival world.

I'm sure while Cyrodiil is a accepting place, any Daedra worship would be dragged into the streets and beaten to death. for the Empire is all about the Aedra. Any Necromancer would be shunned by most if not all, even if he had permission for the corpses. Priests of Arkay would probablly shout curses at them, perhaps even arrange for such defliers of Arkay's realm to have...accidents.

There is always danger present for doing anything. Failure to conform in to the norm can be dangerous i nthe real world, and far more so in Tamriel, where it is (by comparission to this world) a cake-walk to get away with murder.
DoomedOne
though daedra worshipping would be considered by imperials as a horrible thing, not eating every little bit of everything you kill is not so bad to the imperials. In fact, they don't care. At most, you'd be shunned by your fellow bosmer.
the_boss
i have no idea what the name of my character will be, but i know one thing: since 50% of the land is forest, im most definitly making a ranger, either dunmer or imperial
IKICKSPOTTEDOWL
a knight, with longsword, gotta have a horse!!! Heavy plate armour
Fuzzy Knight
Edited...
minque
Nice looking guy Fuzzy, where can I find this faceGen? biggrin.gif
Elongar

More specifically here: http://www.facegen.com/modeller.htm

It costs a fair amount..... sad.gif
Fuzzy Knight
Hmm, lol... That post was suppose to go into Oblivion but anyway... *Slaps himself* Was suppose to be my Redguard in Oblivion... kvright.gif
Channler
Hmmm... makes me wish I had 600 dollars to throw around... sad.gif
