The actual translations is:

what does l33t mean? i know someone who uses it for thier name, but , well...you know...

1337 is leet, or elite, developed by toal computer geeks so they could talk in numbers and symbols and feel superior to people who used english.

Actually it was originally used to discuss forbidden topics on forums and such in order to get around filters. Then it just kinda grew from there

I learned it from playing a MMORPG, we used to use it to joke around.

Well not quite. I must admit I didn't play the original Elite, but I played the two sequels (Elite: Frontier and Elite: First Encounter). There were no talking machines, but the games were incredibly good. The only game that has superceded Frontier in regards to atmosphere is Morrowind, imho. But even that first sequel was so much better than any other games available at the time that I can understand that the phrase '1337' evolved from that first game way back then...

And that Wiki page was indeed interesting and well written. I bet many 14-year olds are disappointed when they realise that the 1337 language was invented long before they were born...

I loved it! I read both Fuzzy Knights and L.A.R.P. One of my personal favourites is the one where Mossfoot wants to try out a more realistic scenario, a barbeque. Result, Ben manages to make a massive explosion that kills the party.

Those are great, Fuzzy! Loved the rabbit with the skillet- it was kind of like here at home....

I love the rabbit, he's my favorite fuzzy knight, I think.
