Don't think this is a spoiler, but for vampires im on one of the theifs guild quests, and there is vampires, tried my best not to contract the disease, anyway I took out about 4 of them, then I came to this room and killed one of the vampires, then 2 of them came at me, so I killed one of them and the other one hit me a few times with his sword, but before it came up i contracted the vampire disease, so i reloaded the game and did it again and he hit me about 3 times, but it did not come up with it, if a vampire hits you does that mean 100% of the time you get the disease or not? also after killing a vampire do your become a target like they get you in your sleep etc, and does the dark brother hood vampire hate you?

In my recently started new game I have 17 vampire dusts in my trophy chest so far, and I haven't gotten the disease yet (no reloads). This time I'm playing higher difficulty too, so I almost always have to fight them up close after my magicka is gone.
So no, there is no 100% chance you'll get the disease if a vampire hits you.
Then again I'm playing a High Elf now, which have a natural 75% disease resistance.

I have no resistance and get it every once and a while. Anyway, the vampires usually live in places with chestfulls of cure disease potions.

Do cure disease potions work for vampirism? I tried a potion in my last game (I was a Breton), but it didn't cure it. It was a self-made potion though. I reloaded the game to get rid of it.
I thought there was a certain quest involved if you wanted to be cured for vampirism?

Yes
Cure disease potions can cure you from vampire desease. But that works only if you contracted the disease right away, and you didn't wait for 3 days.
When you become vampire there is away to cure it,and you can't become a vampire again after that. You will hace to talk to the guy in Arcane University and follow the quest

Thanks. So will the effect of the cure be somewhat delayed after you take it? I took a cure potion right after I contracted Poly.. uhm.. the vampire disease, but I still had it after taking the potion. That's why I reloaded. So the cure might not work until after 3 days then?
I'm playing my new game in real time (using a mod), so 3 days can take a looong time...

That's odd.The cure should remove the disease imidietly.
Maybe it's a bug.......
Try the Cure Disease spell. It allways worked for me (Until i decided to actualy become a vamp

)

Well maybe only 'true' cure disease potions will work? I remember in Morrowind sometimes you had to use game default cures for various diseases for them to work, and not the ones you'd made yourself. Or do I remember this incorrectly?

I'm pretty sure that each attack a vampire makes on you its about a 2% chance to contract the disease, might not seem like alot but it adds up after awhile. Drink a normal cure disease potion to get rid of it. Aside from that the only effect of the disease is to turn you into a vampire in 3 days, but only if you sleep. You can have the disease for weeks and weeks if you don't wait or sleep and not become a vampire.
But vampires are much easier to play in Oblivion. For instance you can go out in sunlight and have characters talk to you. But only by feeding regularly. To feed you go besides a person asleep in bed and click activate on them then choose the feed option. But you might want to wait sometimesb efore you feed because the less you feed the more vampiric you become, your character face changes to reflect this and you get a host of extremely powerful spells and bonus's to attributes and skills in the game, but those are biased towards a theif character in my opinon.
Have fun.
